I guess I got confused with the Dijon Lee comment right before mine. I didn’t realize a&m has four commits from Cali.

I was just talking in general about Cali kids and how we need to make more of an impact there outside of Mater Dei  (although that 2027 5 star TE grew up as big of a Longhorn fan as Sam E. He has pics of himself in Texas gear as a kid. He's been to campus 4+ times).

I know we have Sharma from Folsom, and John Mills from San Fran, but we need more.

In 30 minutes Longstreet could hop in a truck and drive from the middle of nowhere, to somewhere that is somehow even middler of nowhere, or hop on the train and go to the beach.

I'm sure that's a really tough decision for a kid from Southern California.

Oh my. They have to be down bad. They know it’s over given Fong’s chummy relationship with Elko.

If I remember correctly, Reed was an emergency purchase so they’re not completely screwed, but it’s not ideal. I imagine Russell will be their emergency pivot. I’d be surprised if he’s receptive.

I have no idea why Longstreet ever committed to ATM in the first place.  That was out of nowhere.

His older brother Kevin is a walk on DB. I’m sure they offered him a preferred walk on spot, and enough “NIL” to cover tuition to get a head start on his brother.

How is it that three of four services rate him a four star but he’s a five star overall? That would imply there are very different views on the other top players in the country between the different services for him to squeeze into the five star space.

FWIW, I am pretty sure Looch/Texags lowered Husan to a 3 star about an hour ago

Muff chin

Segment 1 (00:00:00 - 03:42:08)

  • Texas A&M is literally on top with a 5-1 record in the SEC.

  • I ran into Chris Valletta. He is one of our most successful former players. He is in town today with Amplify U, which he helped start. He is one of the real success stories. He was also a pretty good offensive lineman back in the day.

Segment 2 (03:42:09 - 16:20:09)

  • We know that this is not a team that can play down. They don't have that margin of error, but they have played very well when they play up.

  • I thought Marcel Reed made some beautiful throws. I am still concerned about short yardage without Le'Veon Moss and Chase Bisontis against the really good SEC fronts they're about to face.

  • Do I wish that they would have played better for four quarters? Sure. Do I wish Conner Weigman and Reed didn't make any ill-advised throws in the red zone? Sure. The reality is that they haven't played a football game in two weeks. They played a non-conference game that they knew they were going to win. When you go up 24-0 a minute into the second quarter, there shouldn't be so much negativity after this game.

  • I have seen some bad A&M teams beat up on patsies, and some good A&M teams come out slow and sluggish. The main thing was to shake off some rust and get your starters out early so other people could play.

  • We saw an eye-opening performance by Malick Sylla, and Mike Elko said it, too. It was from him Cashius Howell and Rylan Kennedy.

  • Could they have played better? Absolutely. Whether they beat Auburn by 17 points or lose that game, I don't think what we saw on Saturday has any carryover effect.

  • I don't think anyone is fooling themselves and thinking that they are going to roll through either of these last two games. They're going to have to grind out wins.

  • I agree with one thing about the penalties: You will not have the same margin for error at Jordan-Hare against Auburn or Kyle Field against Texas.

Segment 3 (16:20:10 - 17:06:21)

  • You are playing for an SEC Championship. Forget the playoffs right now. You are two games away from playing for an SEC title for the first time.

Segment 4 (17:06:22 - 33:26:01)

  • I want smart people to do the CFP rankings. I don't want dumbasses doing my rankings anymore. If you're incapable of critical thinking and analysis without leaning into your computer models and nonsense, then I don't want you on that committee. I think an element of the computer has to factor in things. It's unlike a pro sports playoff element where you have schedules, divisions and leagues. I want common sense on committees.

  • This guy Warde Manuel with an E... It just throws you off. Drop the E, and instead of picking up the E, pick up some common sense when you're answering questions about the playoff. Why is it that every year, they prop someone up at the head of one of these committees who comes off as completely incompetent and inept? That can't answer simple questions anyone closely following college football can answer.

  • If A&M goes 10-3 and loses the title game, that's the only debate. I'm not looking at numbers. Common sense would tell you that they would be in over Tennessee. Does the committee have the balls to drop teams significantly when they lose? Miami should have dropped like a damn rock because of how they looked all year. Miami lost to Georgia Tech. Miami should have dropped more than Georgia dropped. If Texas loses to A&M, they should drop out of the playoff. They might win a national title. They might come into Kyle Field and win. Beat Alabama in the SEC Championship. They might run it. I think they are more flawed than people think.

  • If they don't beat A&M, I will watch the Texas Longhorns and go, "They definitely look like one of the twelve best teams in the country." But if we’re talking about resume, and you only play two top-25 teams in the country, and you lose to both of them... Versus what other teams in the discussion have accomplished, how can you honestly say they deserve to be in? That is a big if.

  • Texas needs to beat A&M. I do not think that Texas losing to A&M knocks them out of the playoffs. I'm not saying it will. However, if you look into the SEC and start comparing resumes and think that the most you'll get in the playoff is four, how will you put them in over A&M, Georgia, Alabama or Ole Miss? Is Texas a top 12 team? Yes. I'm just saying that these committees have them at three.

  • These teams that haven't beaten anyone, if you take a second loss and you don't have that win, then you should go. We let you in the club, and we were skeptical about the way you dressed, or if your ID was legit or not, and damn it, you proved that we made a mistake.

  • Tennessee has a quality win. Ole Miss has a quality win or two. Alabama has a quality win, and Georgia has a quality win. I wouldn't say A&M has one yet because of how LSU is panning out, but if they beat Texas, they'll have a quality win. There would be only one team in the discussion that doesn't have a quality win.

  • Who is SMU's quality win? I know it's a great story, but is it Disney or college football?

  • A&M can get that quality win in two weeks, but none of it matters unless they take care of business against Auburn. Texas is a 20-point favorite against Kentucky at home. They're not losing that. A&M is a one-point favorite at Auburn at night. This is an Auburn team that beat the brakes off of Kentucky. This is a dangerous game, and we know it.

Segment 5 (33:26:02 - 37:56:02)

  • Losing Husan Longstreet‍ is a big loss. You wanted a quarterback in this class and no longer have that two weeks before signing day. That is not a failure on A&M's side. They went all in on a quarterback from California who grew up liking USC. I agree that is a risk, but everything went how it should have.

  • The Collin Klein relationship with Longstreet is incredible. His brother, Kevin Longstreet Jr., is here. A&M is winning big games. USC is a humiliation project every Saturday with Lincoln Riley. Their play on the field has been worse than his brisket.

  • Riley has many Heisman trophies and first-round quarterbacks. More than that, it is Longstreet's hometown team. The Aggie coaching staff could have done nothing more. Based on how it went down, I would imagine this one is over. I am not bitter about it.

  • If Elko had been here last year, I think DJ Lagway could have been here.

  • It is a tough loss. You wish he had done this sooner. Watching a team barely beat a horrifically bad Nebraska team in front of 147 people and flipping your commitment tells me that was going to happen anyway. It is up to the Aggies to adjust.

Segment 6 (37:56:03 - 39:20:06)

  • You have to play clean and winning football in Auburn. You have to be tough and physical. That is what Auburn is.

  • D.J. Durkin will have a good scheme. Olin Buchanan thinks he is the worst defensive coordinator ever. He proved otherwise when he was here. Auburn is No. 3 in the SEC in total defense. They are middle of the pack in scoring defense because their offense turns the ball over so much.

  • Isaiah Raikes is over there on the defensive line. Jarquez Hunter is a guy that Texas A&M recruited. Cam Coleman was a longtime commit.

  • It is a toughness check. If you want to be one of the teams left standing that we talked about, this is a game you have to win
