Bill Rees begins his second season with head coach Dave Clawson and the Demon Deacon football staff. He serves as the Director of Player Personnel.

Prior to Wake Forest, Rees spent three seasons as a college scout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. He was an offseason outside consultant with the Buccaneers for the NFL Draft in 2009 and 2010 while also serving as the coordinator of player personnel and assistant director of football operations at Northwestern.

Before his most recent stint at Northwestern, Rees was a veteran of 16 years in the NFL, where he served as a scout for the Kansas City Chiefs (1994-97), the Director of College Scouting for the Chicago Bears (1997-2001), the Director of College Scouting (2001-03) and the Director of Player Personnel (2003-04) for the San Francisco 49ers, the Director of Player Personnel/College Scouting for the Cleveland Browns (2004-08) and a Pro and College Scout for the Chiefs (2008-09).

Rees began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northwestern in 1976-77 before serving one year as an assistant coach for the Wildcats in 1978. He earned a master's degree in education administration from Northwestern in 1977. Rees then went on to serve as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for 15 years at UCLA from 1979-94.

Rees is a 1976 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in history. He and his wife, Susan, have three children: Danny, a graduate of UCLA where he was a two-year letterman as a punter/holder; Meghan, a graduate of Miami (Ohio); and Tommy, a graduate quarterback at Notre Dame where he started 31 games for the Irish at quarterback.
