Different timeline but I'm seeing the potential for a Venables situation here.

Going from an easy schedule to a tough schedule is going to change the perception a lot with Elko.

And it is not even that difficult just that Aggie is a black hole on the road, the only reason they won as many games as they did during covid was empty road stadiums

Not sure of the direction though

Elko casts shade in all directions. A mini-moon, if you will (not that mini).

This is going to be such a depressing football game

Dude opted out the minute he got his draft grade mid season, why do effort, or risk injury for gomers?

This. Even ags were asking what happened to him 2nd half the season, he was invisible.  The post season accolades he got just shows you how little the voters actually watch games.

There are belitbikoff voters getting community noted on Twitter for the bullshit reason why they voted Hunter over Nash(the 4th triple crown receiver ever)

Yeah I was watching some tape and he really did put some spin moves on Will Campbell, even when he was pancacked once he was putting in the effort. After the LSU game poof!

The 3rd triple crown receiver ever wasn’t even a finalist for the award. And no one cared.

"Former Georgia CB Julian Humphrey has Committed to Texas A&M"

Anyone know the backstory on this?  Why would what seems to be an actual contributor on a true championship contender bail before the playoffs?

Dollars. He’s miles above anything on their secondary but doesn’t turn his head. Dude wanted to cash in early.

Also a shitty tackler

Flirted with aggy last year in the portal but Georgia dropped a bag to get him to stay.

He was benched for attitude and play.  He gave up 17 yards a catch and an NFL passer rating of 115.1 when targeted.

For comparison's sake none of the Texas DBs, starter or reserve, gave up worse than true freshman Kobe Black's 99.1 qb rating when targeted

Its like they never learn, dude was benched, he was a starter in past tense only. How could anybody flirt with him watch him get absolutely torched by Ryan Williams a year later, and then decide to double down on getting him?

The one thing Elko was supposedly doing right was getting rid of the attitude problems and establishing a better culture. It was why so many players left last year and he replaced them with G5 jags.

But the portal moves with Hudson and now Humphrey demonstrate he panicked and just went back to the same Jimbo Fisher well: players with lots of stars and other issues. I think that’s going to backfire, big time.

Is it the Jimbo playbook or just the Aggy playbook - culture and fit be damned, recruit those high star players so you can beat your chest about that and then later bitch they don’t “get” aggy “culture” when they fail to perform and the locker room fractures.

If nothing else it gives them a reason to say “we’re so close! Look at how talented we are.”

if nothing else the stars are hope for them.

Exactly. Because that’s all they’ve got.

They haven’t won a conference championship or even played for one since 98. So they have to manufacture shit to celebrate. Everything from WRTS t shirts to ‘Don’t Care Got Jimbo’ coffee mugs is an indictment of a program that hasn’t won jack shit and a school that can’t get out of its own way.

Impossible to say since they hired straight from the stunted Jimbo tree.  Such an aggy decision.

He kept the undisciplined nutcracker I don't think he ever really wanted to create a culture. He was hired to retain everyone he just failed and had to raid the bakery for half his transfers.

The aggies on 247 are getting too close to getting it for my liking. I’m guessing at least 20% of the posters are calling the Humphrey take a bad reach, which it, of course, is. There’s also a bunch of anxiety about the TE take from Auburn. If some of them have an attitude about landing Hudson, then it might be time to worry.

It really is nuts how easy it is to see whats coming. They're a true marvel, its like theyre the dark version of Saban's process where instead of consistently winning they're on an epic run of fucking up. And they just stick to the process.

Liucci with the uncut dope right there.

-Makes an analogy that still involves the aggies losing. A self-own admitting that they’re being dusted up in the portal.

-Failed attempt to spin any kind of value about the TE take.

-Admitting that the best TE take in the portal will be a fight between big boys, excluding ATM.

-Spins a CB who was benched and quit his team as a proven SEC starter.

-Hints that their are DL on playoff teams kicking their chops to portal over to ATM.

-Alludes to them taking yet another double digit haul of portal entrants, as though that’s healthy.

-Predicts portal victory yet threatens to start banning people if they act up and just don’t get it.

The TE was a standout. No positive spin, just tried to bury it in the middle of faking excitement about Julian Humphrey.

I came away from his OTF appearance thinking he is actually not delusional and is instead just bilking those rubes out of dollars day by day.

I’m sure I missed it but what was the issue with Hudson and Tech?

Gotta take the good with the bad when you're hitting the portal hard late in the second quarter.

Oh, wait, there's more to the story of Humphrey and A&M.

S.O.B. ditched us a year ago! To stay at Georgia! WTF?

[The parrots get restless. How are we supposed to feel?]

No worries. William to the rescue with impeccable reasoning:

image.png.90ab0f9ccb1e3defc79676a67be57e6f.png

You see, the guy loved A&M coming out of high school. The recruitment must have been very close.

What? No visit to College Station?

Well, then, there must have been a lot of predictions for A&M if Humphrey wanted to wear the Maroon and White.

image.png.b7c844e2dffcd7d70285371dc053a419.png  Nope.

William, you sure about this guy's commitment to the dear old Texas Aggies? Jilted you twice for Georgia and only came your way when he lost his starting role. This one of those, from the inside you can't explain it things?

I guess it's enough for the parrots.

Well, in all fairness, not visiting College Station probably does increase their chances with a recruit.
