IIRC, Gundy has an automatic rolling 5-year contract that is at $14 million per year. T Boone Pickens' ghost may need to get called in a seance for some pocket change in the years ahead.

WTF would make you think Gundy is the highest paid coach in college football? I think K. Smart is at $13M this year.

Gundy’s five-year rollover contract, which he signed in 2022, was not changed. He received his latest annual increase of $125,000 on Jan. 1, which brought his total salary to $7.75 million for the 2024 season.

The buyout is about $25 million. But it's very dumb to go there because of one bad season. There are other reasons for frustration but he's still by far the most successful coach in our history. We do need change in coordinators, DC at least. Something needs to change on that side of the ball. A mobile QB next year will help too. I think our non-Ollie RB's are good enough to have some success if the OL can block better and a moble QB can make more holes open up. This year is fucked and yeah, Skateboo is going to have a field day on this shitty defense.

Yeah... I'm on team keep Mike Gundy.  I don't think his 9 lives at okie lite are all gone.

He's the most successful coach in the history of their program. They're not running him out after one bad year. He would need 2-3 completely non-competitive years + some off field controversy for them to consider moving on.

Pokes got worked by ASU at home Saturday. They need to win out to make a bowl. Ollie Gordon's stock has pretty much tanked this season. It's a shame Bedlam is no more because watching a cripple fight between ou and oSu in late November would be like watching a 4 hour train wreck.

Mike Gundy: "The people that are negative and voicing their opinion are the same ones that can't pay their own bills"

Gundy's comments are drawing plenty of early criticism, but deserve a full and complete examination before coming to a thoughtful conclusion.

Below is a clip full quote from Gundy's zoom, as well as the full answer in transcript form he provided for additional perspective.

Dumb response on his part, but that's who he is and has been all these years. I do agree the fans need to calm their fucking tits already. It's a bad year. We haven't had a losing season since 2005. Get over your fucking selves. As soon as he retires we're gonna be a stepping stone job . Considering the likes of Texas, FSU, USC, etc. have gone through some serious shitty years and coaching hires, I can't fucking plausibly imagine how the fans think we're magically gonna be immune from that cycle. The next coach is destined to fail spectacularly per the "following a legend" rule. And if we land on a badass, he'll leave after a 9-3 year for a better program. Period.

Where does the program go post-Gundy?

It's time for him to go. I'll take my chances being a stepping stone job.

No idea, probably just whatever up and comer is available at the time. The only alum I can think of coaching at a high level is Zac Robinson who has worked his way to OC for Atlanta, but the NFL is a way better job these days, and from what I can tell he's taking some heat (although he's got Kirk Fucking Cousins to work with). Todd Monken is a popular name, but again, NFL is a better job, and he's close to 60 already I think.

Cool, get ready for 4-8 being the norm.

Thats a pretty accurate take. For all of his negatives, the unique thing he offered OSU was the willingness to coach in Stillwater for 20 years.

If aggy’s paying, sure, why not. We don’t have the aggy culture problem and he’s probably as decent a bet as most up and comers.

Riley’s still a good offensive coach and Stillwater is somewhere on the spectrum between LA and Muleshoe. Nobody would  notice a defensive difference either.
