so what happens in group h?  psg and benefica have precisely the same number of points, goal differential, goals for, goals conceded.

does benefica win the group on alpha superiority?

actually, i just found it.

Group H table

Benfica and PSG finished tied atop the group on points. And so the tiebreaker list was necessary to determine who would be declared the group winner.

PSG beat Juventus 2-1 on the final matchday, while Benfica rolled Maccabi Haifa 6-1 in Israel. So here's how it went down with the group stage tiebreakers:

  1. points obtained in group matches played among teams in question (BOTH MATCHES FINISHED 1-1)
  2. superior goal difference from group matches played among teams in question (IT WAS EVEN 2-2 FOR BOTH)
  3. goals scored in group matches played among teams in question (BOTH TEAMS SCORED 2 GOALS)
  4. superior goal difference in all group matches (BOTH TEAMS FINISHED WITH +9)
  5. goals scored in all group matches (BOTH TEAMS SCORED 16 GOALS)
  6. away goals scored in all group matches (BENFICA BEATS PSG 9-6)

So after 540 minutes of action, the sixth tiebreaker was ultimately required to separate the two group leaders.

Seriously…

Although PSG getting Bayern first is amusing to me.

But of course after last seasons bracketing, I knew Madrid would draw Pool…

I would have preferred to not get PSG. We've been up and down this season. Hard to predict which Bayern will show up.

Both lineups look like jumbled messes, so I’d roll with a 1 in 8 chance Spurs somehow win.

milan is 5th in serie a and conte has probably coached more games at san siro than anyone on the planet.  not saying it's the most likely outcome but the payout is pretty good on what i'd say is a 40/60 outcome.

plus, it's all house money after leveraging my knowledge of everton's shittiness in concert with knowing how klopp is when they look like shit for a while into a huge payout betting the precise score of yesterday's merseyside.

Probably no need for a Europa thread but the 2nd leg of Barca/Man United just kicked off at OT. They tied 2-2 at the Camp Nou. It's kind of crazy that the leaders of La Liga are playing 3rd place of EPL in the Europa quarters.

Lol so outside of that brain fart how is that match playing out?

Rapid. Good match so far. Bayern seems to be in control but that stands to reason with the 1-0 agg lead.
