Not to get all CR here but this is what makes America great IMO.

Shit like this.

And the Boudin Kolache, Chicken Fried steak, and Nortaño and Zydeco music.

Stuff that’s totally bastardized due to a bunch of different people or cultures being thrown close to one another.

Texas Kolaches are a bastardized version of a Czech sweet bread breakfast / desert. We put sausages in it first to make it Texan. Then bc of an influx of Cajuns in east Texas they figured why not use Boudin? Cajun food is a super bastardized version of French food. So the Boudin Kolache is like a 6th level of crazy cultural mixups.

Chicken fried steak is a poor german immigrant’s take on Schnitzel when given a relatively shitty cut of steak.

And Zydeco / Nortaño music has Accordions b/c Central European / German immigrants brought that shit over to Texas  and it spread both east and south to get appropriated (it’s not always a Bad thing….) into two very recognizable but different types of music.

The Black Jeep owners Facebook group is just an extension of stuff like. It’s the  white guy with a black jeep at a cook out full of black folks who own Jeeps.

He'll be popular at that cookout....

Very cool.

Thanks. I learned something.

Nothing quite says America more than bastardizing someone else’s language when naming something.

But let’s be honest, from a marketing standpoint calling them kolaches rather than klobasnek was the right move.

Looks exactly like my kids’ childhood beagle. RIP Delilah.

Wife had 3 of her Beagles from youth put down in the same year. Degenerative cancer stuff.  Devastating stuff

How many did she have??

3. Unrelated but were acquired around the same time at similar ages. I think they had some Star Wars Queen Padma type of bond amongst themselves so after the first one died, the others got sad and dragged down soon after.

My younger daze, klobasniki were sausage (AKA Pigs-in-a-blanket), kolaches were fruit. Definitely distinct.

Where there were Polacks insteada Czechs, that pork sausage was kielbasa, but they still had a version rolled up in bread.

Still... yum for breakfast, sausages and fruit.

Literally every country/language does this.
