His jump velocity would be added onto his standing velocity (so whatever speed the elevator was lifting at).  Bottom line is he just didn't have the hang time to pull off a flip.

If you look closely the main reason he didn’t make it is because the tips of his shoes drag against the side of the elevator.

I figured Texas would have been "Bangs".   Always felt sorry for the girl who got named "Queen of Bangs" during their parade.

Don't feel sorry, she enjoyed it.

There is a town in South Dakota called Athol. Thought that was pretty funny when I was a kid.

Kansas, too.

I've been through Beaver City several times so this hits close to home.

Hooker Oklahoma has a beauty pageant to name an annual Miss Hooker. I think Jay Leno interviewed a winner several years ago, for the lulz.

I've been to Hooker, and may have nailed the 1997 Miss Hooker winner. She was NOT an attractive woman.

Blue Ball, PA, is worse than Intercourse.

It's Blue Bell (like the ice cream), but whatevs.

I've been to Intercourse.  Full of Amish and Mennonites.  Buggies galore.

No, it’s Blue Ball. I live 15 miles away.

Holy shit, I forgot about that!  I live 30 miles away, but rarely go up that way (other than Shady Maple one time and it gave me the shits so I never returned).  Was just dropping recycling shit off at the Lanchester Landfill two weeks ago.

I don't think that's how it works.

Have you seen the example where one jumps on top of a train?  They land in the same exact spot they jumped from.  They don't suddenly decelerate when they're in the air.

No joke, there is a Duke of Atholl in Scotland and for strange reasons, he is allowed to have his own private ceremonial regiment made up of highlanders.  So... there is a private Atholl army in Scotland.
