that's why I put it on sark. if his qb is limited he gets paid handsomely to make our offense work. were good to great at a lot of spots. he needs to scheme the shit out of it if that's what he needs to do

dart is good but im talking about franchise qbs. the ones that get gms fired

Idk about franchise qb but he looks good enough for nfl and better than Quinn

every qb looked like Quinn today but way fucking worse. only qbs worth a shit today were the running qbs and even their passing looked like shit. need the oline to get better and we'll be fine.

Cam Ward?

I was noticing that today. This is a pretty poor QB year. Gabriel maybe the best QB of the NC contenders. Hard to trust guys like Beck, Howard, Allar, Nico, and Quinn. Going to make it a crazy playoff.

Cam Ward? Also Gabriel looked pretty good, not as good as Quinn did against Michigan though, because that was the Quinn that no one can fuck with. He was nails that game.

I think Miami is a pretender. I just don’t see them making noise with that defense

It sounds like they need to treat him like a freshman.

The context I had was not to treat him like a freshman but to start him off with easy eye control and safe throws as needed. Get him to calm down also by getting him to move around. If anything don’t turn the ball over in first drive and give defense a chance

That was my point. Most QBs that looked ok were dual threat. Pocket passers are struggling this year it looks like

Its been that way for quite a while lol

Was just saying this to my brother -- pocket passers as top line college QBs are rare these days. It's just asking for way more consistency than most guys are capable of. Even the ones who have done it recently (Stroud, Burrow, Lawrence) have more functional athleticism than what we've seen from Quinn. Hell, tOSU fans were somewhat frustrated with Stroud if I remember correctly.

I agree. I’m just saying, that’s normally what they do with young, inexperienced qbs.

Yea, if you’re gonna be a pure pocket passer, you better have great pocket presence and everyone else around you better know and do their assignments.
If people are gonna play us to take away the deep stuff, it would be much easier to punish if Quinn were more willing/able to punish teams with his legs.

Thankfully, Arch, KJ, and Dia can all punish teams pretty well with their legs. Trey can even run some once he gets going.

Funny thing is I  believe Quinn was listed as a dual threat as a recruit. He rushed for 568 yards his Sophomore year at Southlake. He can hurt teams with his legs. We have seen in it games like Washington last year. His legs kept Texas in the game in the first half. I think the injury history has taken that part of his game.

A lot of fanbases hate their QB.  A close friend has a grad degree from UGA (and one from Texas, but he supports the dawgs more) -- he swears Ewers is way better than Beck.  Irrational gonna happen.

The decline of Beck and Ewers, while their teams remain in the NC picture is something I am not sure I have ever seen before. If you told me Georgia and Texas would be ranked top 5/6 in November, I would have bet a lot of money both would be in Heisman conversation and top 10 picks

Defenses have picked up the slack for both teams.  I want to play them again so bad but it ain’t gonna happen after they lose this week.

He does have the ability to hurt you by scrambling to keep the play alive and pick up yards. We’ve all seen it.

I was told by Derka we were the only team in the top 10 with poor QB play

I don't think they do that label anymore, but his description is the guy we would love to see.

"Good height with a plus frame. Pro-style QB with athleticism and mobility that qualify for a dual-threat label. Elite improvisational QB who can extend plays and remain accurate on the move. Throws with a smooth, easy delivery and varies arm angles as needed. Impressive velocity and spin rate really show on routes over the middle and down the seams. Field-stretching vertical arm strength to consistently hit big plays over the top. Also shows encouraging touch on timing patterns and downfield routes that require it. Good runner by design or scramble. Understands how to protect himself as a runner and minimize shots. Shows encouraging pocket presence and awareness. Senses pressure and knows how to react to it. Also willing to stand and deliver under duress and will take a big shot if it means hanging in there to make the necessary throw. Occasionally will take risks, but that also is part of what makes him so good. Release quickness is good in general but could still quicken a bit at times."

Feels like they're describing Arch moreso than Quinn. Where is this QB now?

The oddest part is, as best as I can tell, Beck and Ewers are suffering the same issue. I have and continue to contented that Ewers has a mental issue, perhaps even trauma from the Georgia hit. Not physical in his oblique rather psychological or perhaps concussion issues. Maybe even both. Beck has similar issues as best as I can tell. He's in his own head and regressed, pretty dramatically in his ability to read a D and find the open man.

It's truly bizarre that 2 highly ranked and heretofor solid, NFL caliber potential, QBs now look, at best, mediocre and at times, absolutely terrible.

Are you trying to say you didn’t? Is one of your diagnoses dissociative personality disorder?

so now a mental health jab because immmac said that i’m in here saying QE sucks, which im not. i’ve barely even posted in this thread since it went off the rails. obviously @blacklab doesn’t give a shit about the ad hominem mental health pot shots, and immamac is the asshole in here calling me out out of nowhere in the first place. @hayden_horn is there a single adult in the house? or is this episode no.1,754,789 of me getting shit talked for no reason, ssomeone else taking a shot at my mental health, only to have the hank hills and immamac’s of the world continue to blame me for the shit?

i asked nicely up thread- don’t take mental health shots at me. period. i am not  shit with any of you motherfuckrs, i *am* having a very rough time in my real life, and you’re all in here being pieces of shit for sport like it’s cool. seriously, fuck you guys. the mental health shit is way over the line. you bring up my name out of nowhere, you shit talk my mental health, and you swear i’m the o problem.

hey @Hank_Hill- anybody you love have cancer? MS? liver disease? because is really love to talk some shit to you about that right about now. you fucking cocksucker.

btw i don’t know what that disorder is, but i do dissociate from reality all of the time due to my lithium. it’s a real blast being halfway through grocery shopping and suddenly it’s like you’ve just been transported to aisle 5 from a coma and now all of the sights and sounds and lights around you feel like a million different things coming at you at once, all while i’m in “movie mode” feeling like im mot actually physically present.

but hey it’s all good, everyone just start shit with derka out of nowhere. talk shit about his mental health, go out of your way to be shitty to him, then call him the bad guy and say, “this place just isn’t good for him.”

at what point do any of the adults in the room stand up and say something about this? at what point does all of that pro-kamala love from the CR show itself here? where is the compassion and basic moral common sense at? who here is going to stand up for a mentally ill person who gets bullied about it and then blamed for it, when all he does is earnestly post sports? where y’all at? why is this still accepted here?

I’m just going to go out on a limb here and posit that if someone is struggling with mental health issues, finds difficulty taking flack from internet strangers and has (justified or not) over a long period of time developed a persona on a particular forum that makes said flack much more likely to be received and much more likely to be of the extreme variety, then perhaps that someone should simply avoid that particular forum.

Can’t speak for anyone else here but, while I’m personally sympathetic to your struggles @Derka, none of us here have an obligation to treat you with bubble wrap or kiddie gloves. Immamac and blacklab are not your protectors. This place is what is it, you know better than anyone. Everyone is susceptible to shit talking and bashing here, including of the extremely personal variety (if you give any of these degenerates personal info to run with). You’re not special, I’m not special, no one is special in this no-man’s land. Accept it and either avoid this place or assume the risk.
