I made a Longcat more serious post about my opinion on what's going on and what was driving my personal frustration with Quinn and the only feedback on that post was "well NFL quarterbacks are terrible too" yeah, and they get shit on, very very hard by everyone when they play below their expected or proven abilities.

We have some unknown radio quote from hornsports which I cannot fucking find anywhere where Quinn apparently in his own words said he was "thinking about getting hit or how to take hits" which is exactly the behavior I was calling out. It fits my narrative, but it's improperly sourced and I choose to believe Quinn has better representation than to ever let him say something so fucking stupid on air.

Some of you act like the words I used being short and intentionally inflammatory were somehow off limits or completely unfounded in any reality, then all arguing about the exact same thing that proves what I was saying anyway.

Quinn is absolutely fantastic when he's on. He's him, he's nails. What we have been seeing since the injury is specifically not that, it's not unreasonable to want a player who's proven he can play at a certain level to consistently play at that level. Not asking for perfect Quinn or no mistakes ever Quinn.

Its just easier to say "Quinn is playing like a pussy" than to type all that out so stop fucking acting like it's not hyperbole and funny to call the QB1 a pussy because he's playing a bit mentally skittish, which is an opinion shared by many many many people in circles that would know.

WTF is this coherently explaining yourself nonsense. Stop posting like a bitch.

There is a sizable difference that you majorly gloss over here between "QE is playing like a pussy" and "QE is a pussy."  I'd halfway agree w/ the first.  The 2nd is stupid and out-of-bounds and I'd hope someone who is so involved in paying players NIL would know that.

To play like a pussy, one must have the pussy within him. There isn't much of a grey area between playing like one and being one.

Every single person on this board has taken actions in their life that other people would say "that was really pussy."  Does that make everyone here a pussy then?  No, because the sum of a man or woman is more than a few actions or a few football games.  To label someone a pussy because they aren't playing the way you like is simplistic and lacking class.

Unless that is you're asserting that you know enough to actually say QE is actually a pussy?

And to pre-empt the lame "you're comparing QE to Montana?" response, NO - I'm illustrating that every QB from pop warner through NFL HOF goes through runs where they have bad play, and that doesn't make them "pussies."

You're comparing those to a QB being such a pussy that he trips over his own feet because of a little pressure.

He didn't rip over his own feet, look again. His RT got his shit pushed in so far he tripped his own QB. He couldn't step up because he shifted to the inside of the RT and would have self sacked by stepping up. That ironically was a decent evasion by Quinn given the circumstances.

Bro was in no danger of getting sacked....dude literally stumbled because he's playing like such a pussy. To call that a decent evasion when he literally evaded the incorrect way is wild.

His left tackle tripped him with his left foot because he got pushed into him, are you blind or just dumb?

Quinn stumbled over his own feet. He was getting a fuckton of pressure but let’s not make shit up now. You can see in the video that Quinn’s feet never come in contact with anything.

It looks like Quinn lost his confidence. Either that or he's become extremely adverse to taking chances. I remember his RF Freshman throw to Sanders in the OU game. Sanders didn't have too much of a lead on the defender and Quinn threw a dart. He simply is NOT making those throws anymore. Early in the season, he made a tightly covered 20 yard throw to a hitching Wingo. He has not made a throw like that since. Now if the downfield receiver is wide open, he'll throw it. Otherwise, it's check down city.

Quinn needs to learn to play carefree again.

Even if that is true, he composed himself and got rid of the ball without taking a sack. To say this is some terrible play by QE is a stretch. Worst case, he tripped himself avoiding a pressure because his LT got blown up. The Vanderbilt QB threw a couple of picks under the same type of duress. My point is this isn't a good example to use negatively against QE. It actually highlights some of the other issues with the poor pass protection.

True, he also had 2-3 linemen between himself and that dump down. It is probable that he actually didn't see him.

Beck and Ewers' problems are different.  Beck's problem is that no matter how tiny a window he has to complete a pass, he thinks he can make it.  A one foot square in between 3 converging defenders?  Oh yeah, I can thread the needle.  Deep ball to a receiver who is blanketed by 2 dbs?  I can drop it in there.  He thinks he's Brett Favre.  Good luck coaching that out of him because I think he's probably also just as dumb as Favre is.

Haha gotta let it go man, to prove he’s just trolling you don’t even have to quote him but he responds anyway. I made a post and called him a fuck tard without naming him, he responded. It’s a bit or his life sucks, one or the other. I like debating when both sides have a genuine argument that brings out good points, that guy isn’t worth the words though.

You’re applauding our 3rd year starting QB for having the composure to throw the ball out of bounds to avoid a sack he nearly caused by tripping over himself. Then you throw the lineman under the bus by saying he tripped Quinn. There is never any accountability for Quinn’s poor play if everyone is just blowing smoke up his ass all the time.

Playing football to not get hurt will get you fucked up.

TSRH. I'm not going to weigh in on the asinine and at this point extremely tired argument of whether Quinn is a pussy, is just playing like a pussy, or if he's still our perfect golden boy and it's actually everyone else who's terrible. But he is playing to not get hurt - that is clear. Whether that's justified or not, playing to not get hurt is a great way to get your shit rocked.

Playing loose and looking for a fight is part of accepting that football is a violent game and being okay with that level of violence. You're ready for someone to bring it to you and to bring it to them. As the QB you can't be stupid about contact, but you can't avoid the fact that you're playing football too, just like everyone else on the field. Look at this Pavia kid - do you think he's worried about contact? Fuck no. He's not trying to get his head caved in but he's not thinking about it either. If it happens it happens, that's the game. Even within Ewers' own career we've seen this - dude plays better after he's had a little contact. After a hit he sees that it's not a big deal. It's like he needs a shot in the mouth to wake himself up. But we haven't seen that version of him since UTSA.

Pretending like you can avoid the violence that's inherent to football is not only dumb, it's dangerous. Ewers is not only playing worse, but he's going to get himself hurt worse too.

I suggest a Five Point Plan to settle this disagreement once and for all.

1. We watch the Texas vs. Florida game. Sum Ewers QBR +10 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

2. We watch the Texas vs. Arkansas game. Sum Ewers QBR +10 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

3. We watch the Texas vs. Kentucky game. Sum Ewers QBR +10 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

4. We watch the Texas vs. Aggy game. Sum Ewers QBR +10 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

5. We watch the next Texas game of the season (Bowl game, SEC Championship, or First round playoff). Sum Ewers QBR +10 for a team win -10 for a team loss -30 if this is a bowl game +10 if it's the SEC championship.

Then we find the average of these five sums. This gives us his measure on the ULTIMATE SCALE OF PUSSYTUDE/BOSSNESS (working title...in process)

0-65.0 : THE ULTIMATE PUSSY : Sorry Quinn, you are officially and forever a Huge Pussy

65-75 : PRETTY MUCH A PUSSY : Quinn, you had so much potential but you ended up playing like a Pussy for us. There might be hope for you in the future though.

75-85 : KIND OF A PUSSY : Quinn, we would have had a real shot this season if you didn't play like a pussy one too many times. Good luck in the NFL though bro.

85-95 : MOST LIKELY NOT A PUSSY : Quinn did enough to win, but could he have done more? (I admit if we end up here the argument will go on. I'll take my chances)

95-100 : DEFINITELY NOT A PUSSY : You can say what you want about Quinn Ewers, but he ain't no pussy.

100+ : DUDE IS A BOSS : It turns out you guys have just been haters the whole time. Potential Longhorn Legend.

(This is all completely arbitrary and not based on any kind of science or intelligence)

May the testes be with you, Quinn.

Lol WTF? Possibly? I don't care about NFL projections and potential, but yes, we would 100% rather have the current version of Gabriel over current Quinn. He's mobile, evades getting sacked well, is a genuine threat with his legs, and actually consistently throws an accurate and catchable deep ball.
