Lmao! The point was to show that the GOAT at QB when not given a clean pocket can struggle, he even throws really stupid passes that end up being a safety.Quinn isn’t Brady and never will be which really brings the needing a better pocket into focus. My argument this entire time has been Arch isn’t winning us anything with the OL and running game problems we have currently. Quinn is the veteran and if he reverts to even close to form then we win out and are in the CFP. That’s all.

You're just flat out retarded for even trying to compare Quinn to Brady to begin with.

Show me a quote from Quinn where he said this. Dying to see it. I'm sure this is something they were hoping for Bec cause he has 1st round talent but has he or anyone in his camp said this publicly?

Did he suck last year at the end of the year when he helped lead us out of the desert we had been wandering for over a decade? The Quinn haters in here are fucking idiots.

I think that is on both sides. This is a rough situation. Even @WinningIsHard said "if Quinn reverts to form" then Texas wins out. That is not a ringing endorsement and is an indictment of his play since coming back from injury. If he was playing to his capabilities, there would not be a discuss on the QB position.

You have Quinn who has played 2 terrible games in his last 3. You also have the savior with the highest PFF grade by any QB in the nation after week 5. He also doesnt have much experience. Nobody really knows how fast of a learner he is. He also has size and athleticism that has the potential to add an element to the offense that Quinn cannot. This is not people yammering for Maalik last year. If you cannot see the arguments on both sides of this coin, then critical thinking skills have been replaced with emotions. I think most people hope that Quinn comes out and looks like a rock star the rest of the season and ends any debate.

I see the arguments and they are futile. Quinn is the starter until he is injured or declares or transfers, if not we are fucked, it is that simple. The OC/Coach knows what he has.

You done admitted the issue in your response by claiming we have the savior on the bench. Who was the savior before Arch?  Oh, that's right, Quinn. It is emotions, Too many people are blinded by the Manning promise, his time will come. Bunch of whinny ass bitches in here is the problem. This thread shouldn't even exist. It is completely counter productive.

Quinn has been incredibly consistent this year if you throw out the Georgia game.  Everyone overreacted after that one because Georgia has looked unlike Georgia for most of the year.

Look at the often cited QBR and tell me I'm wrong.

When people post anything critical of Quinn, his followers with undying Q devotion immediately start shitting on the conversation to derail it and start attacking posters for their views. To combat the Quinn criticism y’all start saying shit like “this thread is dogshit” and “get help” instead of countering with things rooted in factual truths. Even going so far as lying by saying “Quinn didn’t stumble, he was tripped by his left tackle” when the video shows their feet didn’t even touch.

We can’t even have a conversation about Quinn’s football abilities because y’all get defensive, start blaming other people for Quinn’s problems and then make a blanket assumption that we are only critical because we want to see Manning play. It’s not about wanting Arch, it’s about facing the reality that Quinn has regressed into a subpar player when we know he can and has been better in the past.

If Quinn goes crazy and goes apeshit against Florida, I have no problem admitting that maybe I was wrong about Quinn. But you guys don’t do that on the other side and it shows based on your responses to posts critical of Quinn.

Come on. Arch is the "savior", because he is a Manning. Only reason I used the word. It a bit different than savior being Heard, Swoopes, Thompson, Card, etc.

Not sure discussing the situation and looking at both sides is counterproductive. I think a reasonable person could look at this situation and say I dont really know how Ewers or Arch will look like over the next 2-3 games. You have the Ewers side saying he will revert to himself, and we should all ignore how he has looked vs competent defenses the last month. Basically, have faith Quinn will get back to himself. Arch side is saying he will make great strides and not have a freshman game. Projection and faith are required on both sides. Neither are assured.

This thread is a fucking beating.

"Quinn might need to improve a little."

Side 1 - fucking shit, you can't say that he only needs to improve a LITTLE. He's been TERRIBLE. Why are you always defending him and refusing to acknowledge what's right in front of your face?!?!?

Side 2 - fucking shit, who else would you take over him? Why are you so fucking critical of every single thing? It's a single bad game, plus our OL have been total shit the entire year and NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THAT. This blindness about what total football looks like is why Texas fans like you are the worst.

No one on the 'defend quinn a little' side is saying that everything is fine (well, maybe @Thatguy :) ), and frankly, I don't think anyone on the 'criticize quinn a little' side is saying that he should be benched right now (well, maybe a few outliers). I feel like I'm having to separate my two kids because they both claim that the other one left the dishes on the counter, and there's no possible way it was THEM that did it, and they're just yelling the same finger-pointing shit at the other one, BUT LOUDER.

Shut the fuck up. We get it. QB1's play has been far, far below our standard since the injury. QB1s play gave us no chance to win the UGA game, and the trends over the last three games leave strong doubts about our ability to win out. QB1s play is directly influenced by the play of other units, especially the OL. For us to win a national championship, we've got to fix ALL of it.

This is not true.  The name calling is coming from all the detractors.  It's pure emotion.  I'm willing to admit I'm wrong on Quinn if he stinks it up as bad as Georgia again this year, but I don't think it is going to happen.

Counter productive to the University of Texas football team absolutely yes.......No benefits, only negatives. Productive for bleeding vaginas and emotional fanatics in the sense of entertainment? Sure.

Which 2 were that?  The one with a rating of 110.1, the one with a rating of 131.1, the one with the rating of 154.3?

I would think you could decipher that by using basic math.  If we put those numbers in perspective the the #100 QB in the nation has a QB rating 122.73 and the #50 is 140.58.

Since Week 1, though, Ewers' passing grade has gone down every single week, with his worst game yet coming against Georgia — where he recorded a career-high seven turnover-worthy plays. Ewers was even benched at one point in the game for Arch Manning in hopes of creating a spark that never came. On the year, he already has 10 turnover-worthy plays, which is more than he tallied in all 2023.

To be fair Sark is the one who opened the door to this discussion. When he benched Ewers, he knew the ramifications.

Hey, you were the one who implied 131.1 is "terrible".  Your words, not mine.

A 131.1 season rating would put him in between Aidan Chiles (#79) and Hudson Card (#80). Are you arguing that 131.1 is good and your expectations for the Texas Qb is to be ranked around 80?

Jackson Arnold is at 130.42 (#82)

He’s also talking about the team, ahem Quinn, needing to get his mojo back ala a 3point shooter or a hitter in a slump that’s pressing.

Helm is confirming Quinn is not confident because he doesn’t have good protection and that’s the reason why he’s not making his throws. This is unacceptable for a 3 year starter.

The quarterback for The Texas Longhorns Football Team needs to be a confident motherfucker 24/7 regardless of how good the team is.

This is where people are at and where the negative sentiment for Quinn lacking confidence and why that is a mental fortitude issue and not necessarily a physical or mental capability issue.

They may lose to better teams with more talent, but they can go down firing and unbiased fans can admire the talent. If Quinn needs a clean pocket every play to have confidence or complete intermediate to deep passes, I don’t get it. The comp to Tom Brady is dead on though. That dude sucked!

It's very obvious that Quinn thinks he's first round material, for anyone anywhere near his orbit this has been made very very clear.

We are not fucked without Quinn. This is still a very much in contention for a playoff run if not a NC run without Quinn. That's how little of an impact he's had at lifting the team, the defense is balling the fuck out.

This is actually what I've been saying, I just called him a pussy when I was mad about it and making an obviously hyperbole comment and people latched onto me thinking Quinn is the worst player on the team and doesn't deserve to play at Texas. I've clarified it multiple times, because I didn't realize how fucking idiotic some of the posters here are who can't fathom being pissed off at someone who played like shit and without confidence as calling them a pussy.

Also, I've talked plenty of shit to Gunnar's face in good humor. I've also given Juan Davis shit etc. These guys are just guys - they love football and they think some of this stuff is funny too. I have also given them direct praise beyond jock sniffing fan, but very serious appreciation for the work they put in and how it shows on the field.

That clearly wasn't what I was saying but it doesn't matter. I'm sayin that if Quinn is replaced without injury, during this season, it is because he had an epic mental collapse resulting in multiple turnovers ending in us being in a huge deficit. You know.....Fucked. Kinda like Chris Simms in the Big 12 Championship with a NC game birth on the line.

I'm not backpedaling a god damn thing. Below are my exact quotes, they are directly related. I apologize for not being clear enough for the simple minded.

This quote actually proves the opposite of what you are implying what it means. Let me put this so a 10 year old can comprehend. If I Quinn is replaced because he gets injured. We will be fine because Arch is a competent backup. If Quinn gets replaced because he had a Chris Simms moment and threw 4 picks leading to a 28 point deficit, we are fucked. Maybe not royally fucked but fucked none the less. VY ain't walking through that door.
