Given his dwindling NFL prospects, some program is going to pay top NIL dollars for Quinn in the portal. And they will have the same issues that we are facing with excessive turnovers, bad completion % on deep passes, and poor mechanics.

He will destroy workouts and get drafted, he won't be playing college football next year.

He was awful in the second half, what do you mean? 6/16 77 yards 0 TD 1 INT 38% completion

Are you of the opinion that a football game is only one half long?  Jesus Christ you people are dim.  (Clue:  that means the first half he was 14/13, so yeah, check your math.)

This quote actually proves the opposite of what you are implying what it means. Let me put this so a 10 year old can comprehend. If I Quinn is replaced because he gets injured. We will be fine because Arch is a competent backup. If Quinn gets replaced because he had a Chris Simms moment and threw 4 picks leading to a 28 point deficit, we are fucked. Maybe not royally fucked but fucked none the less. VY ain't walking through that door.

Your logic:

TEAM NOT FUCKED
Quinn goes down with injury —-> Arch is a competent backup

TEAM IS FUCKED
Quinn pulled for throwing picks —> Arch isn’t capable of taking over

I understand what you are trying to say but I agree with imma that this year’s Quinn isn’t playing like he’s miles ahead of Arch to elevate the team. I would hope Sark is smart enough to pull Quinn before it got to the point of throwing 4 picks and being down 28 points.

If a player thinks they deserve to be a first round pick, they should ball out in college football regardless of talent around them. They may lose to better teams with more talent, but they can go down firing and unbiased fans can admire the talent. If Quinn needs a clean pocket every play to have confidence or complete intermediate to deep passes, I don’t get it. The comp to Tom Brady is dead on though. That dude sucked!

I don’t have a dog in this fight but the nfl doesn’t care about the prospects time in college. Especially the QBs. Check out past drafts about QBs being selected with limited film. Measurables is what they want. And you only need one gm to fall in love. Hell, Quinn’s height , injury history and lack of athletic ability might hurt him more than his stats in college. They drafted a backup qb some years ago because of measurables. NFL gms don’t even consider college football the same sport as nfl.

I have it on good authority that Vince Young had the following ratings in 2005 (and no I am NOT saying QE is equal to VY, so don't even fucking start):

Rice -- 103.5

Texas A&M -- 116.3

USC -- 131.1

Okie State -- 132.3

So maybe don't get so twisted about 131.1, since that's EXACTLY THE SAME RATING VY HAD IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.  Redefine "terrible".

Get ready for bitch boy to call you retarded for any comparison of Quinn to a good qb.

We have reached peak Surly. Quinn and VY both had a game with the exact same 131.1 QB rating. Young ran for 200 and 3 TDs in that game NC game. Quinn ran for -20. Perhaps using a metric that only looks at passing is not the best measurement of one of the best running QBs CFB has ever seen.

Passer Efficiency is a pretty crap statistic, it doesn't account for rushing.  If VY was the same threat for running the ball as quinn I don't think we'd remember him as fondly.

Well, he went 30/40 in that USC game . . . he just didn't have any TDs or INTs.  (Quinn had 1 & 1 in his 131.1 game.)

I get it, I understand VY was a transcendent talent, far better than Quinn.  I'm just suggesting we be a little tempered in how we define individual performances.

That was 20 years ago. The game has changed pretty significantly.

This is incredibly disingenuous when everyone posting on this board knows Vince’s biggest threat was his legs and you are posting a passing only statistic and comparing him to a guy who never runs.

I get it, you want Quinn to be good. So does every poster on this thread save a small number. Probably just time to quit having these silly arguments and let this thread die until after FL who has a good enough D to test Quinn again.

So, tell me about QBR.  It looks to me like one game sticks out for Quinn and the rest pretty much fall into place w/ little variation...

What is his QBR if he gets to play against the shit teams on the schedule OR if you remove Georgia is my point?

Until Arkansas, Dart had 3 TOTAL TD's in SEC play.  But, this thread full of dumbfuckistan takes from mentally ill fuckfaces has convinced themselves that Dart is HEAD AND SHOULDERS better than Quinn...

Quinn needs 12 more touchdown to reach VY's passing touchdowns and 23 more touchdowns to reach total touchdowns.

He also needs 7 more games.  I mean, this isn't REALLY that difficult for you to comprehend, is it?

I'll admit I dropped a turd in the punchbowl on purpose, but some of y'all are really irrational.  Carry on.

Maybe Quinn should just not get hurt? Something he hasn't done since a sophomore in HS? The best ability is availability....the second best ability is being a complete alpha chad like VY and not a complete fucking pussy like Quinn.

I'm not the idiot who compared results from 13 games to results from 6 games.  Has Quinn actually missed 7 games this season?  Wow, I didn't realize that.

You are an idiot comparing Quinn Ewers to one of the most clutch players in program history. So kindly go fuck yourself, pussy.

When people post anything critical of Quinn, his followers with undying Q devotion immediately start shitting on the conversation to derail it and start attacking posters for their views. To combat the Quinn criticism y’all start saying shit like “this thread is dogshit” and “get help” instead of countering with things rooted in factual truths. Even going so far as lying by saying “Quinn didn’t stumble, he was tripped by his left tackle” when the video shows their feet didn’t even touch.

We can’t even have a conversation about Quinn’s football abilities because y’all get defensive, start blaming other people for Quinn’s problems and then make a blanket assumption that we are only critical because we want to see Manning play. It’s not about wanting Arch, it’s about facing the reality that Quinn has regressed into a subpar player when we know he can and has been better in the past.

If Quinn goes crazy and goes apeshit against Florida, I have no problem admitting that maybe I was wrong about Quinn. But you guys don’t do that on the other side and it shows based on your responses to posts critical of Quinn.

if this site had reddit-style awards this post would have a bunch of them. there’s no doubt that there’s a ton of people who won’t consider posting in this thread because of its formulaic, reactive, mob mentality responses to anyone who is critical of QE. there’s basically no discussion here anymore, just BO&W and five of his adversaries having a slap fight. people get so so attached to a player that any criticism of him gets taken personally, no matter how obviously reasonable the criticisms or questions are, and that ends all discussion right there.

Which 2 were that?  The one with a rating of 110.1, the one with a rating of 131.1, the one with the rating of 154.3?

QB rating is an antiquated stat that in and of itself proves nothing.

IMG_6584.thumb.jpeg.e4838029a30c68f918a54d3fa46f0707.jpeg

look at his QBR the last three games vs the michigan and utsa games. that stat shows how subpar he’s been compared to before he got injured. sark went above and beyond to set QE up for success in the 1H against vandy, and the ensuing high completion rate skews his qb rating much higher than the eyeball test tells you that it should be.

QE has been bad lately, and he was bad again against vandy, leading a totally inept offense that never threatened vanderbilt in the 2H because quinn isn’t a threat to throw the ball anywhere beyond the defensive front 7. he also threw two of his trademark picks where his sidearm throws get batted at the line, and was sacked four times behind a line that has suddenly been underperforming ever since QE stopped being a threat.

so between the complete inability to move the chains and his propensity for turning the ball over and getting sacked, what part of his amazing “154.3” performance stood out to you? is that the type of performance you want to see going forward? you think we win out if QE keeps playing like that?

Not my argument.  I was solely pushing back on the idea that he has been "terrible" in two of the last three games.  Yes, he is underperforming relative to this season pre-injury, no dispute.

Quinn sucks and always has..

Quinn is amazing and still is..

Quinn is going to be fine..

Quinn is a pussy and were fucked..

Quinn is as good as Tom Brady..

Quinn is as good as VY..

Lots a name calling is fun..

We should all get into a street brawl ala Jets v Sharks and the winners get to step in and tell Sark what to do.

This thread is amazing, and yes I'm proud to have been a part of it.

After reading all this bullshit I forgot we’re 7-1.. shit, I was like this Quinn guy sucks so bad  his team must be winless.

Having the number 1 defense might have something to do with that.  I can’t think of a game this year where Quinn won the game for us. Maybe Michigan but still think it was the D. Quinn certainly contributed to our loss and kept a game of two too close.

I hope Quinn gets his confidence back as Sark will stick with him. He doesn’t suck but he isn’t elite either.  The reason why some want Manning is he can be elite and can run which we need with the o-line. But that doesn’t matter as I don’t see a change.
