Arch just didn’t want to get his receiver destroyed so he was protecting him with a bad throw on purpose.

You gotta admit calling quarterbacks who fuck up pussies is pretty comical at this point.

Truth. I called my wife a pussy. Now I'm on the couch. Guess I'm the pussy after all.

Was a different guy after his scramble. He’s a night and day player when he’s feeling confident. Even on that play he first looked like he was getting ready to get hit then when no one touched him he took off for 9. After that it was all downhill.

Moore dropping his best pass of the day and another possible TD kept the stat line from being insane. He should be able to use the game against Arkansas as another confidence builder 🤘

For a team that absolutely can not run the ball Quinn is fucking fine.

BOW is just a whiny bitch.

We gotta figure out the running game if we want to win a championship

So I admit I didn't watch the game super closely, but to me it seemed Sark was clearly intentionally overemphasizing the pass. I figure wanted to get Ewers a lot of reps coming out of the bye and establish some confidence going into tough road environments the next few weeks. That is to say, I don't think Texas couldn't run the ball, I think they were mostly choosing not to in order to work on the passing game. At halftime Texas RBs had seven carries. And then they got it going in the second half when they leaned to it.

I think Ewers was a solid B/B+. His ball placement throwing downfield was spotty and that's just who he is at this point but he was at least seeing some open receivers and willing to throw downfield. Bailed out by receivers on a couple occasions but to be fair, the dropped TD by Moore was a really nice throw. He got the ball out quickly in the short/RPO game.

Today's Ewers would have given Texas a competitive game with Georgia and that's the first time that's been true since September.

Texas could run when they wanted to. This game was a joke.

I appreciate every page of this 845 page thread, but imo it is as simple as Quinn was obviously hurt, and he obviously looked a lot better today. I'm feeling pretty good about his play going forward. Sorry Derka.

He isn't hurt. If you keep him clean he is a different player.

I think he was hurt. Played through it. I saw him grimacing a bit during the game, but the pain doesn’t seem to be impacting him as much as it did before. His footwork is continuing to improve as well.
Quinn got hot toward the end of last season, hopefully that’s what we’re seeing here.
We're unstoppable if we protect him and he sees the field well enough to make the plays available.

Ewers had time to throw and was able to hit his receivers….Georgia took that away.

I gave the credit to Sark on that. Quinn missed a TD (Bond) and bounced a ball off a Florida defender’s face in the first two plays of the drive. Sark deciding to go for it and getting it (thanks to Gibson’s second effort) just changed the feel of the game. Then the Bond reverse call right after. The play design on the wide open Golden play was awesome. Sark hit all the right buttons on that drive. From that point on the offense played loose.

I think he may have played injured and lied about the extent of his injury because if he sat out until this game and Manning beat OU and UGA, there probably wouldnt have been a starting job to come back to.
He seemed much much better today than the last 3 games. Next week is a big test.

I agree. I think he was still hurting and lied about it. Everyone was/is caught up in Arch mania. Had arch beat ousux and been competitive or beat UGA, Quinn wouldn’t touch the field unless it was garbage time. The fans would lose their shit.

Quinn had a good game. The Moore drops were unfortunate. OL protected well and he was comfortable today.

The concerns about Ewers are not on an every week basis. He didn't get consistently pressured today and did well. I think most people are understandably eyeing the A&M game as a concern.

I was really happy we showed a willingness to attack vertically today though. Quinn wasn’t great doing it but he wasn’t atrocious either. The thing recently was that we weren’t trying anything other than LOS stuff.

Florida was doing some Zone drops early (the near interception was 1 of them). They pretty much abandoned it after the Helm TD.. Florida sent the MLB and the Safeties departed the middle of the field. Easiest TD pass Quinn will ever have. They lost 3 DBs in the Georgia game. I don’t think DC was comfortable mixing it up after that. Give Quinn a pocket and easy reads and he is going to  cook. Good game from Quinn and the offense, but Sark had the Florida defense on a string

Nah. They're way dinged up, Reed can barely throw. Their best WR is slow, they have no RB's, and their front 4 are above average. They may play with heart, but heart doesn't equal talent. Their secondary is an abortion. They have one good DE who has exactly 5 sacks on the season with their cream puff schedule. The second most is 2. I don't know why anyone thinks this guy is going in the 1st rd. He has 21 solo tackles. But sure, he's a threat.

Anderson has 1 INT, Ratcliff has 2,and 3 others have 1.

We hace 14 and lead the conference

We ain't losing that game even if it were played in Qatar.

Look, we are better than A&M, but they have talent on the D-Line and the atmosphere is going to be bonkers .

Two poor throws to Moore? lol

Yes, the throw that was 5 yards behind him and the throw that was 10 yards in front of him. Both were fucking abysmal throws for a NFL 1st round QB. Moore was wide fucking open both times and against better competition you need to make those throws.

Florida turned beck over 11 billionty times but Ewers plays them and all the sudden their defense is trash. Lol

Do yourself a favor and don’t look up Beck/Georgias offensive performance today.

Edit: Quinn played good today. Well above my expectation. Just pointing out Beck ain’t the barometer we should be comparing to.

OK.. Yes.. The one drop was under thrown, still should have been caught though. There was the one down the seam he overthrew. Ewers best throw in a long time was the 2nd dropped TD pass by Moore. Though the throw in the flat to Blue was as very good

That at aosphere is overrated. You think Sark didn't get a glimpse of Arky? Aggy is nothing compared to Fayettnam. Their swinging towels and male cheerleaders. Once we get ahead with our speed and elite players, that place is quieter than the red rose after you run out of money.

You think these guys haven't played in hostile environments? Auburn, RRS, Bama, etc. This is no different other than we're far better. They literally almost.lost to Bowling Green with that vaunted defense.ea while our only close game was Vandy that we should have beaten by 17, while Vandy would handle BG. They lost to ND who lost to NIU. Yes, using transitive property, but their schedule is hilariously easy and got scorched by USCe. Tell me how that defense looked then?

Don't take this as offense to you, I was just saying part.

Quinn had himself one hell of a game. Who knew all it took to see that dawg in him was to play a crappy team with a walk on QB? If this game is the beginning of the comeback of last year’s Ewers then let’s do this fucking thing.

Yup exactly. We still need to be taking deep shots to draw potential PIs and to keep defense honest.

As mentioned above a 3rd pass was the Moore bobble:catch that was a bad ass throw by Quinn.

This isn’t the game to rag on Quinn.

That throw wasn’t good. It should have been an easy deep throw that Moore catches and runs in for a touchdown. Instead he had to completely slow down and almost stop the route to try and catch a ball he ultimately dropped. Even the touchdown to Golden was a bad throw off his back foot that Golden made an amazing adjustment to catch.
