This all arm throw is what I referenced earlier on the drop to Deandre...yes we've stated 100% Deandre should have caught it. Just pointing out this was thrown all arm and that is why it was slightly underthrown.

https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx7mxAbgBvnRorD69ilv1ZHU8V0zdRuj2X?si=N8gV14M1zBAwRBhJ

That's not really all arm. He's just putting air under it.

You want to see an example of all arm look at the long TD to Golden. He's even falling backward because Wisner has a LB one-on-one, and Wisner's getting pushed into his face. And he drops a dime (all arm, falling back).

I didn't see a lot of concerning stuff with Quinn. More concerned whole right side of OL regardless of who plays RT.

The problem isn't a backfoot throw here. The problem is his wide base, he repositions after the pump, then throws off his front food like a baseball pitcher using all arm.

He clearly rotates his hips and shoulder as he throws the ball. It isn't an all arm throw. He just tried to put a ton of air under it. All arm was the TD throw to Golden. I don't disagree with your general observations of him, I'm just saying this particular throw is a bad example of it.

So you are citing 2 throws in 3 years or starting QB play? Good job!

Why are you such a bitch?  Plenty of us have shown you exactly why you are wrong, but you're just doubling down.

For someone who likes to throw out the word "pussy" so much . . . you sure are a pussy.  Have a great day.

Go fuck yourself you dumb bitch. You literally say stuff like "mechanics don't matter" gtfo here you fucking stupid bitch.

It's also hilarious that neither your nor Dabhobbs know why that throw was so bad....he's throwing from the left hash to the right hash and with that throwing motion and not stepping into it he's opening up his shoulders to make that throw. Like holy shit it's fundamentally bad and why it was underthrown.

I don't give a fuck about Quinn's footwork if he's that accurate after 45 yards in the air.

Minor edit but Mykel Williams is a DL and he absolutely destroyed our OL. 2 sacks but the pressure he got was devastating.

He came off the edge and not from the DT spot.  He just flat out won.  I was responding to the unblocked DT comment.

This may have been the only game in the past two years that we lost many 1 v 1 battles.

We for certain want better.  I think the silver lining is that we’re better off for the remainder of the season.

Don’t want to get caught up in all this shit, but if we win all the games and a national championship why do we care about his mechanics. Or are y’all saying since our qb has bad mechanics we don’t have a shot to win a national championship. If that’s the case, find me the perfect mechanics on a qb and tell me where he plays so I can check out that team. Dart has terrible mechanics also but I’m sure ole miss don’t care right now.

Eh, that's not a great example of an all arm throw. He threw it from the 36/37. You see him pump fake, re-plant, and then it leaves his hand at 8:40. The ball hits Moore at the 18 at around 8:37. So it travels 46 yards through the air with about 3 seconds of air time. It is underthrown because he puts a lot of air on it.

image.png.9f5b8ee41bbcc18fadd3324fe2a21d9f.png

Here is the exact moment it hits Moore:

image.png.54e215db9bf99da7ff6b0985c7572c4b.png

Perfect throw? No. But that one didn't appear to be footwork. It appeared to be Quinn not wanting to overthrow it. It still hit Moore with 3 yards between him and the defender.  Moore just did a bad job adjusting to the ball and then dropped it.

Why can’t Quinn just throw it ahead of Deandre in stride? That’s what is frustrating! A well placed ball would not have just been caught, it would have led to a wide open touchdown by Moore.

You mean like when he threw it ahead of Deandre in stride…..the well placed ball that if caught, would have been a touchdown?

Yes! The other dropped end zone throw to Deandre is the best deep throw I’ve ever seen from Quinn. This wasn’t just Quinn chunking up the ball for a receiver to make a play. This was a great throw with precision and accuracy and unfortunately it was dropped by Moore. More lasers and less moon balls please.

That ball traveled like 45 yards in the air haha. Which qb do you know is accurate at that distance? No wise ass, serious question.

I believe one of those sacks was the one where Banks buried him and Ewers just tripped over him. That was 100% on Quinn.

Because hitting deep is hard and Quinn isn't very good at it? This wasn't a great throw. But it wasn't that bad either. And it isn't an example of an all arm throw.

So you watch a Florida and Georgia against us and think they get that performance every week?  Not exactly the way it works.  Ole Miss sacked Beck 5 times.  I’ve watched enough football to know every team, every player has ups and downs so the best judgment is over time and in totality rather than individual plays or games.
By the way, UF had 4 pressures versus us.  4.  That’s a pretty low number and at a percentage per throw that would rank amongst the very best in the country.  Out of 29 dropbacks.  We had 11 pressures on 27 drops not to mention two deflections that were picked.  I’ll take our performance over theirs even if we allowed a free rusher to get a sack that once.
The only free rusher that I recall versus Georgia was the CB blitz.  I don’t think a DT for any of UGa, UF, or Vandy registered a sack.
Hell, you can take it to the NFL.  Watching the Rams last night, they didn’t block for shit.  I remember 3 guys running free at #9 on one play.  We may screw up a stunt, but it’s very uncommon for us to have 3 guys running clean to the QB.  I’ll take a free rusher on 2-3% of plays than straight up whipped 35-40% of the time.
I realize you watch the hell out of the Horns. I don’t know that you do everyone else.

I’m not caught up on this thread, but when Arch got dropped for a loss trying to get to the edge, their left end rusher most definitely waltzed right between out RT and RG.

Well, fuck, we need to be accurate here, so let's start by admitting that the ball did not travel 45 yards through the air. It covered about 47 yards of ground, and assuming the flight is basically a parabola, with a chord of 47 and an axial height of half that, the flight path was more like 65 to 70 yards.

Serious answer.

Where were we?

Yes, but it will include critiques of QB gurus failing to fix the footwork of an NFL QB. At least until a real EDGE rusher pancakes Quinn and breaks eleven ribs.

NOTE: Assuming he gets signed by an NFL team. Action in non-exhibition game not necessary. Might include Canadian or European professional team.

Yes, this it.  Unfortunately, Golden is open for a big play in spite of the poor blocking.

It was likely miscommunication between the two, but it wasn’t a stunt.  It was straight up a crappy job.  Both RT and RG did have hands on him.  Arch easily escaped and could have thrown away.  These two plays were easily the worst sequence.  I wouldn’t call that a free rusher.  He falls at Arch’s feet because Campbell has contact.  If Arch rolls left, it’s likely a huge play in our favor.  The crosser and the check down were on the left, the spy on the right.

My overall point is clean pockets aren’t always there and that QBs can evade 1 man pressure fairly easily.  Generally we are very good at both.  Certainly not our best game and something we hope not to repeat.

I've read Quinn may or may not replace Dak Prescott as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.

Which is crazy since Moore is as dependable as you can get. It's unfortunate that he dropped those 2 passes.

Correct.  It was mentioned that Banks was pissed on the strip sack too, thinking maybe QB needed to step up.  Either way it’s something we can adjust.

Moore almost acted surprised it was there to me when I saw it live. That was a pretty damn good pass.

Kurtis Rourke, Indiana. Their offense reminds me of ours with the short passes but his deep ball is also pretty accurate.

I admittedly have not watched him much but it looks like he gets crushed here and barely sees where the ball goes. Does he make these kinds of throws often enough to say it’s skill or a strong arm?

Yes. He’s not a pussy and will stand there and take a hit while getting the pass off.

Rourke is the P4 leader in average depth of target while Quinn is the lowest in college football.

Although I haven’t seen the stats on this following the Florida game. I’m sure Quinn jumped up significantly with this past week’s performance factored in.
