Like Gerry said, now with the transfer portal there are no longer "great teams". I think he's correct.

I think this year it’s all about QB. It is a really bad QB class. Lot of the top teams have QBs you just can’t trust for 3 straight games. That’s probably why Texas fans are so frustrated with Quinn. They know if Quinn consistently plays to his abilities for the back end of this season, Texas has a legit chance at a NC. If not, Texas may not make the playoffs

Agree. He's been here 3 seasons and when he's one he's money, but when he's off...man, it's hard to watch. If the light comes on the next 2 games he can take us there, if not, we're gonna limp win or not. We just cannot keep leaving our defense out there.

I also meant to say Sark needs to design more easy plays for Bond and his speed, and Golden with his hands.

Umm, he was wide open with positioning against the defender. Even if Helm had to sit down to catch the ball, the defender would've had to plow through him to defend the pass. Instead, Ewers guns it at 200mph low and outside.

Had to miss the game this morning, but looking at the score told me what happened.

Quinn can't hit the deep ball. Never has been able to. Never will be able to.

Sark's offense is going to be handcuffed as long as Quinn is the trigger man. He needs to get to work scheming around Quinn's limitations, because it's abundantly clear that Quinn is who he is.

Wasn't there one play where Ewers dropped back in the pocket, there was a little pressure from his left, and a little more on the right side - and Ewers needs to move up. Seems like it was a third down play, or kind of important... so Ewers begins to move up, but his feet are together, as in TOGETHER. Not spread apart for stability, but side by side, and he begins to move forward, but both feet just seem to stick to the turf, and he goes straight down. I saw the replay and I'm thinking... "Nobody touched him..." Maybe the blocker on his right scraped lightly against him, but there was no significant collision.

What is that? A head problem? Any QB with some agility is going to use proper foot placement to maintain balance and stability, but Ewers just froze. Maybe he has a hip or thigh problem. He just doesn't look right...  And then sometimes he gets moving and everything smooths out?

It’s pretty funny to see the shift from Quinn is a sure fire first rounder and heisman finalist preseason to Quinn isn’t a problem because we’re 9-1 (due to our no. 1 defense) and Greg McIlroy won a championship! If before the season any poster had been on here saying Quinn is Greg McIlroy, I’d bet my left nut the same posters in here defending him so vehemently would have been saying what a stupid statement that is. The guy is a massive disappointment and people are justifiably frustrated.

And for the record, Quinn’s “good” 4Q  happened because the ball was taken out of his hands. He completed 4 passes. Two of those traveled more than 5 yards down the field (to be fair one that didn’t was the really good throw for a TD). That’s who we need to be the rest of the year.

Most people have caught on to the fucking troll, but your dumbass has used two different threads to latch onto me saying something is catchable, verse your dumb broken brain concluding I meant he should've caught it. Its fucking embarrassing that you've been responding to my troll posts for 4 hours. I'll spend the next four hours saying he should've dove head first to grab it. Immamac recognized a troll with the online Master's comment, but you somehow fuck that up and went full on with it @hobbes2702. I'm going to Wrigleyville right now and I'm gonna tell a bunch of Ohio State fans I'm super scared of them.

People are defending him because he's a good QB, and idiots on this forum are calling him a POS and a pussy. No he's not having the year we thought, but he's the best QB we've had since Colt McCoy, so STFU and let's see what happens.

There’s a lot of hurt Longhorns in this thread in serious denial. Quinn has always been an inconsistent player, but it’s just been egregious at times this season. I want to see him successful as much as anyone, but our offense is pedestrian. My old man chewed me out on the phone today, “I’ve been watching ball 35 years, this mother fucker is no good”. I don’t agree with that sentiment entirely, but I don’t think his assessment is far off.

What choice to we have? Anyone who tells you Arch is better than Quinn right now is a fool.

No dude. They’ve clearly got more knowledge about Arch than the guy that sees him in practice every day because of a couple games.

You really think Sarkisian is going to bench Ewers at this point in the season. It doesn't matter two shits what either QB looks like in practice. It's not going to happen no matter how often Ewers misses wide open WRs deep down the field for walk-in TDs.

This is who he is at this point, it’s not going to get better. Everyone expected improvement this year in footwork, pocket presence, downfield passing, it didn’t happen. He's a game manager that throws great screens and short outs and limits his offense because of the things he can’t do average at least.  No ones taking him in the first round, hopefully round two at least.  We can just hope for flashes of good Quinn.

Here's a funny little stat:  Quinn Ewers has moved up to #14 in D1 passing efficiency.  (7 TDs vs 0 INTs in the last 2 games sure didn't hurt.)

I remain convinced he will likely show out well at the combine, catch a day 1/2 draft pick, and Arch will take over.  Every QB coach in the NFL thinks they can fix the deficiencies.

A game maanger would have completed at least one of the bombs to Golden for a TD.

Yeah, well you're the guy who says he's overthrowing by 5-10 yards, and it took about 10 minutes with the DVR to see the first was 3 yards, max.  I don't know why all you nancies feel the need to exaggerate (not to mention the bitching about the minor underthrow last week that hit Moore in the hands but 'OH MY GOD YOU HAVE TO OVERTHROW IF ANYTHING'.)

I don’t think anyone thinks Arch is objectively “better” than a three starter at QB. A better fit? Who knows. This offense is in dire need of a threat. Whether it’s a deep ball or a third down scramble. Offensive football is so dumbed down today that you just need a guy who can hit the open man. Hopefully Quinn can bounce back, he’s got some real tests the next couple weeks.

Normally yeah, but Sark's one of the top QB developers in the game. If Ewers' issues were fixable, you'd see it by year three with Sark. I think that's going to put a lot of people off him.

Feet and yards are used interchangeably which is hilarious

I'm sure not gonna argue with you on that, the draft is inexplicable to me.

I do think that next year is Arch time.  Sark can't park the guy forever.

it’s complicated.  inconsistent is one thing but quinn has a tendency to become completely useless for long periods of time.  it’s perplexing because he has also played at pretty elite levels in big games.  and he’s not a pussy but he absolutely gets rattled and wilts under pressure at extremely inopportune times.

I mean fuck, man, he’s already done it once.

if it’s up to me, which it isn’t, I’d still keep playing quinn but I understand people wanting to see arch.  when quinn decides to be bad quinn there’s really no way arch could be any worse, and probably would be better.
