Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet

Quinn has zero idea about touch. It's either 10 yards over thrown or a lofty softball where the WR has to stop and the DB is able to recover and make a play. Or completely missing a guy wide open because he's only making one read and going to him regardless of how the play unfolds. He's awesome at handcuffing this offense. Sure, it doesn't make a shit against the likes of Kentucky or Florida. But we saw how it cost us against Georgia. It gets real after this week. Aggy isn't an awesome team but you dick around enough like Quinn does, they can beat you.

His best throws today so far, which were really good, were great touch passes.

every single one of them has been underthrown and/or thrown to the wrong shoulder. nobody will use his first half film as examples of objectively good deep balls. when your receivers have to slow down or stop running every single time you throw a deep ball into single coverage, that’s not good.

None of that is a disagreement with what I was saying. They haven’t been great- they have all been catchable and all should have been flagged.

and that’s why you shouldn’t have an immobile qb out there. jesus christ.

Sark is afraid to put Arch in and have him look better than Quinn. So it’s run game and screens the rest of the way.

This dude is made of glass. Was playing well today and gets rolled up on and is now injured Quinn again.

Lmao. If you think this then he should be fired.

Not really. There’s obviously unique optics around the backup being a Manning and the most popular player on the team.

Sark obviously believes Quinn, when right, is the best QB to lead this team. Theres potentially a LOT of external pressure introduced about who the right QB to lead the team is if Arch comes in and looks great. Quinn is unlucky (even if it’s who he is at this point) to have been injured in a game he was playing well. I don’t think Sark wants that controversy based on Quinn getting hurt, which is different than what happened vs UGA.

It was a questionable decision, but it wasn’t made for fear of having MORE success with the backup in a closeish game. If it was he’s a terrible coach and shouldn’t work here.

Regarding today, he was playing well before the injury (still not the best deep ball), but he was playing really well. It seems stupidly obvious to state that a QB's footwork is important, but for Quinn it is everything. Once he couldn't even walk without a limp, it was game over for his ability to throw and run the offense.

I don’t think any team in the history of modern football has ever played an entire second half without throwing the ball past the line of scrimmage because they’re confident with their quarterback play.

KSU beat Texas several years ago while completing 5 passes or something.

We're winning in spite of him. If you can't see that I don't know what to tell you.

You guys are just waiting for anything negative to happen so you can pull out your keyboard. Lol. Glad you had your moment. I wish for everyone to have a good time.

I watched the first half and liked what I saw. He was pretty good and seemed to be comfortable in the pocket and moving and scrambling if needed. That Ewers can beat most teams that Texas will face. His deep passes weren’t that good.

That “strip sack” was just bad luck to me. I watched it on my phone and it just looked like an int.

2nd to last regular season game, spends the entire viewing time during a win waiting to rip on the QB after any errant throw online. Pretty sad existence. Couldn’t be me!

Sark should've pulled him at the half.

No, we’re not. We’re all Longhorns. Why would we want to watch goofy ass QB play every Saturday? The dude moves like he’s 45. Velocity is non existent. The deep ball is hall of fame trash. His pocket presence was pretty good today, I was slightly encouraged.

The fumble/pick 6 was not an injury thing. That was also a pretty good defensive play.

The screen pass he threw on the 3rd and 23 was pathetic and he should have been pulled immediately after that. It sucks for him because he looked pretty good in that first half.

Also, the fact he gets hurt about every other game is going to ding his draft stock maybe more than any play on the field.
