I think most fans believe this is how Sark wants to run his offense, but I don't think so. He's curated it to fit Quinn's strengths. Look at Mac Jones's Alabama highlights. Way more explosive offense. Next year with Arch will look a lot different.

100% this. our offense next year is going to be a completely different animal despite the talent we’re losing on the offensive side of the ball. quinn is sark’s guy so sark has been/is tailoring his offense to quinn and what he’s comfortable with, which unfortunately has led to our offense being extremely risk averse and dink and dunk-y, relying on yards after the catch. next year the offense will be much more wide open, more explosive, and more varied. i’m very much looking forward to seeing our offense next year.

That was like every non-completion in Arch’s career.  Has that ever been done here in the aggregate on anyone?  Even the hated guys who never deserved the amount of scorn they received.

I will be waiting for those posts on that I’ll-advised throw in the UF game to discuss how that was PI and should be removed.  Or like those first two throws in which there was pretty much immediate pressure.  And for a little irony go watch Quinn’s first start.  ULM wasn’t it? A little shaky start against what turned out to be the 118th worst defense per DFEI. Oh, and I think everybody liked Ewers 2nd start.

This thread is annoying yet entertaining.

I didn’t make it through, but it was obsessive to shitty. Who takes a part a kids 1st start? We all remember that shaky ULM Quinn put up and there is no reason to revisit it. Imagine if someone put the low lights of Ou, Georgia, and Arkansas together on Quinn

you know it’s so weird; if you did an audit of this thread you would see that the crowd who’s in here bitching about me are actually the people who are taking things personally, being combative, talking shit, and derailing the thread while i’m literally just posting about quinn. you people act like juvenile dickheads and then project it onto me.

im willing to bet that @Hank Kingsley would tell you that my posts about quinn and my criticisms of him have not been dissimilar to his own posts and takes. im not in here being incendiary, im not in here talking juvenile shit about quinn or to/about any of you, and yet you’ve created this fictional world where i’m the shit starter who says that quinn ewers is the worst qb ever. it’s a farce; it’s fiction. you don’t like what i have to say so you are acting out and bombasticizing my takes and then blaming me for your own misplaced anger. stop scapegoating me for your own shit.

for the one millionth time: if you have beef with something i’ve said then quote me specifically and we can talk about it like adults. rex, and motown, and dahobbs, and the rest of you are the ones making this shit personal, not me. that’s a fact. grow up, and talk football like an adult. christ.

Pick your spots bud. You made one probably wild post that got folks hot and bothered and then dug in over it. Sometimes you shoot from the hip, miss, and drill a dog. Just ignore the lady losing her mind over the dog and go about your day. Fuck that dog.

Because it shows the difference in the low lights, you should know this. Quinn's low lights are missing a read and dumping a pass to his check down and failing to convert a 3rd and 7, Arch's low lights is him throwing into double coverage 30 yards down field on 1st and 10 which is a cardinal sin to an OC. We're talking about Arch vs Quinn in 2024, not Arch in 2024 vs Quinn in 2022 Quinn has plenty of painful low lights but he almost never make blatantly stupid and reckless throws like we have seen Arch make.

Lulz. Quinn missed a fucking wide open Wingo on a crosser that likely results in a TD just last Saturday. Wingo was like in that 5-8 honey spot zone for Quinn. It's not just checkdowns and missed bombs, he's also missing the correct reads and wide open WRs.

Again this is his 3rd year as a starter, and he hasn't gotten better at all, the team around him, especially the defense, has improved night and day, and they are the more apparent reason for 22-3 including 4 games with the backup.

Fine, but since you repeatedly assured us that he would never be a successful college QB and never make it to the NFL, it makes me wonder how valid your criticism is about Quinn Ewers.

Quinn is currently screaming career ceiling: NFL backup. Do you see something more?

It’s a great gig, we’d all love to have it but he’s in a great college system. Can he expect a better system, better team in the NFL?

quinn ewers throws a lower percentage of these passes than any qb i’ve ever watched. it’s no coincidence that i’ve never seen a qb throw more deep balls where you don’t need the camera to pan to know that there’s no chance of it being caught. you absolutely could make an hour long lowlight reel of quinn ewers, and all you’d see is the likes of xavier worthy, ad mitchell, bijan robinson, jt sanders, gunnar helm, jonathan brooks, matt golden, etc on the wrong end of those poor throws.

That bolded part is remotely similar to Quinn being the worst Qb ever. I mean it doesn’t get much more clear cut how you feel. Do you do this stuff on purpose?

Arch makes poor passes too, those are included in the low lights but coaches concerns are about reckless decision making which Arch being far less experienced is far more susceptible too.

1st off, I can’t imagine putting together a low light film of a Texas player. Now watch someone do it for Quinn. Is that what we really want? It’s amazingly shitty. So Arch throws a 50 yard pass into double coverage is that better than not hitting an uncovered receiver, fumbling, and giving Georgia the ball on the 10? I could go on. It’s one thing to discuss a play or concepts, but I think hit pieces on Longhorn players is straight shitty. That may just be my feelings, but this is not something I want to start seeing here

I think some of you missed the point of that cut-up.

But since we don't have one for Trey Owens, he's probably better than Ewers and Arch.

Damn.  I just quoted you saying Quinn is the worst ever.

Perhaps I knowingly took it out of context.  Perhaps I find a little humor in joking around so it should be taken as such.

There are a lot of punkasses in here.  Yet we all find ourselves here bitching and moaning anyway.  It sure isn’t our best use of time.  Hell it’s not even really informative.

And for the record, I’d wager I could whip the shit out of the majority of you.  Some of you may need to give me a rest every 30 seconds of action though.

Arch fumbled the ball and gave it to Georgia in Texas territory in his only drive of the game. No OC ever wants to see his QB throw a pass into double coverage that's just bad QB play, Sark wants the correct throw made. Quinn air mailing a deep pass to a wide open receiver on a busted coverage will piss off fans but Arch throwing into double coverage and getting broken up or picked is worse in the eyes of Sark and every single other OC out there.

Tell me where I can sign up to make over $1M in NIL deals each year while in college like Quinn currently does. And there is no better job in America than being a long-term, career backup QB in the NFL.

Career backup is a huge drop off from being a 1st round pick. You are saying that as a non football player. You think Quinn's goal is to be some long term backup QB? Absolutely not. But that will be the reality. No way he will process NFL defenses at the speed they play. Not to mention, he can't make those throws consistently.

Quinn has pretty much been handed everything and been coddled. Sat out his senior year at SLC. Gets to Ohio State but is at the bottom of the depth chart, for good reason. He gets here with zero competition. There's a QB that has a much better ceiling behind him and Sark even made the move but went back to him.

None of that will fly in the NFL. He would have been better coming out after last season because this season, exposed a ton of warts in his game for whatever the reason might be.

He’s way better than Kyle McCord or Will Howard, Ryan day is a fuckin idiot lol. Daniel jones, Spencer rattler, Aidan oconnel and cooper rush…all have started games this year. All those guys blow. You’re a shit for brains if you don’t think Quinn can work his way to at least get a chance to start whether by injury or pure arm talent. 1st round is most likely gone but him being a starter is absolutely still there barring a career ending injury.

Throwing into double coverage is not always the wrong thing. First that coverage can be crappy.  There’s always the 3rd and long stuff that a pick is as good as a punt.

People laud Ewers for his OU 2022 game.  Two throws were potentially dangerous, but they’re hyped up as “NFL throws.”

Do you remember that throw that Vandy picked off?  Did you realize there was damn near the exact scenario in the Arch video?  You remember how thatguy came in talked about chipping a guy on the way to the flat when it’s QE but adds to a video as negative for arch?  In the Georgia game did you know that Ewers got strip sacked too?

Did you know that independent sources track things like turnover worthy plays?  Guess whose rate is higher?

Hell, you can track the stats down on completion by level.  From 10-20 yards, Ewers is 60th in completion percentage.  48th in depth of target.  The drop % is 18th lowest.  I’m sure he’s just getting an inordinate amount of pressure.  Last year, you could say he was elite in this range.  He’s not this year for whatever reason.

We don’t want to factual or consistent here.  I’m learning that.

We didn't miss the point. I could spend a whole day editing a lowlight clip of Quinn over 3 years that will make him look just as bad if not worse. But that would be shitty thing to do IMO, and while I'm critical of Quinn, that's below the belt as a Texas fan.

Yes. Reading between the lines he has grade I (microscopic-level tears) sprain of his ankle. It does not make the ankle less stable. It hurts and can lead to enough swelling as a natural response (especially when he is actually playing on it) that it becomes stiffer and even more painful. Wrapping it well before the game and between series and popping a few Advil might be enough to let him function as well as he did before the most recent injury.

Give him the shot!/budkilmer.gif

I really don't understand this take. Coaches literally do this for training purposes. There is nothing shitty about this because the intent wasn't to be shitty. Y'all have no issues wasting page after page criticizing our starting QB, but then take umbrage at someone actually providing visual context for an opposing comparison. It is just fucking nonsense.

There is a  difference hitting on plays and things that need to be fixed. Even the dumbass takes. You have crossed the line spending an hour cutting up a low light film of a freshmen.
