This is a legacy game for Quinn and one all the NFL scouts want to see him play. He has a minor ankle sprain. He knows how big this game is for him. I cant imagine he isnt going to play.

If Ewers could hobble around for a half with this ankle, he's playing on Saturday night.

A week of ultrasound and treatments and he should be fine. I just hope his mind is right and he plays loose & confident.

Run the ball. Early and often.

I also read in here that the tape is out on Quinn, muddy his reads and pressure him. Which fucking qb in America is that not the game plan for??? This place is silly lol.

It’s Quinn’s reaction to those things. Every Qb’s performance drops with those, but Quinn drops through the floor. Make it easy for him like Florida and he looks like Heisman candidate. Get some pressure and he becomes a self-sacking mess. Does that when he his reads get muddy. Watch him self-sack vs Arkansas with little pressure.  His sack to pressure numbers are god awful. Anyone that has watched Quinn knows his pocket presence is his worst trait

I don’t know who Bell is but his  demeanor on the sideline is a fucking cancer on the team.  You can clearly read his mind through a 5 second shot on TV and see that he hates winning.

Isn’t ewers the worst against pressure

The pressure of defensive lineman running past our line.  Not the pressure of the atmosphere that’s going to be amped up more than double than the OU game

Texas OL is really good. They have given up 49 pressure this year through 11 games

Aggy is undisciplined, shitty culture, and they haven’t played against a team like Texas. I get it tho, you’ve seen enough of Quinn. What I don’t understand is why you have any faith in an aggy defense that just got its ass handed to it by Auburn tho. We are 8-1 with Quinn, shitting the bed and all under pressure. We are going to come out and play an electric rivalry game and walk away with a W. Book it.

They play the same brand of thug football Georgia does though. We haven't played another team doing that shit all year.

What? You can go back and look at my post saying their pass rush is overrated and they are 13th in sacks. One talking about Texas has huge advantage with Helm and RBs vs the A&M LBs. You can look at the post saying Texas is 3rd in YAC and A&M is 114th in YAC allowed. The only way I see A&M winning is if we get bad Quinn (OU,Georgia, and Ark versions). Good Quinn and this is a double digit win. Do you disagree with my assertion that Quinn does not handle pressure well at all?

No sir, I said he shits the bed from time to time. I think we win even if he shits the bed for a minute. Aggy doesn’t have the OL Georgia does or ettiene. They can throw the kitchen sink at us and we will weather it and win. That Georgia team we played with their defense executing the way they were could hang with any team from the last 5 years. Bad Quinn can beat aggy. IMO. I have that level of faith in sark, pk, and the filthiest defense I’ve seen in my lifetime. I will also say I think arch should have finished the game at Kentucky. If Quinn is too physically limited to go then arch should be given the opportunity to play.

I agree on the A&M offense. They are going to have a hard time breaking 20 pts, unless they get a lot short fields (turnover and punts). If Quinn has a bad game, it will be a low scoring game tight game like Ark. For the record I wasn’t bothered one way or other about Arch coming in.

And this is where I get irritated. "If Quinn has a bad game".

When I went back and looked at the Georgia tape WE had a bad game all the way around. Defensively a couple guys were saving us with individual play but we weren't playing well. They were moving the ball on us through the air. We couldn't stop the run. The entire LOS was being pushed forward 3 yards at snap. Etienne was getting chunk yardage everytime he touched it. We couldn't get to Beck at all. He had all day to stand back there and survey the field. We settled in for a couple drives in the second half only to have busted plays when we need a stop the most.

On offense our line was getting pummeled. We couldn't create running lanes. We had bad penalties at the worst times. We were getting confused with simple stunts, and guys were turning the corner on tackles. The first one by the endzone was Quinn's fault for not stepping up but the second one where he got the ball knocked out he did step up and they still got to us. Receivers were getting bullied in routes. They just were overall way way more physical than we were and we got caught with our pants down.

That looked like an early 2000s OU game where we just weren't mentally ready to play as a whole and then we come back here talking about "If Quinn has a bad game". That's what used to piss me off about blaming games on Simms too. We removed Simms from the equation and still took the same ass-whippings because it wasn't about the quarterback it was about matching physicality and effort level. The quarterback was just a result of not handling business.

There is a reason Sark put him on the bench. Feel free to argue your points on the Georgia game with Sark. He was bad vs OU and Arkansas. If the Quinn that played in Ann Arbor shows up, this is a double digit win.

And there was a reason he put him back in there too. Our idea of bad needs a little reminder. Bad is Dart vs Florida. Bad is Beck vs Ole Miss. Bad is Milroe vs OU. If Ole Miss, Georgia, or Bama get OU/Arkansas Quinn they don't lose any of those games. Otherwise agree on Ann Arbor Quinn.

Jesus Christ, this is why I routinely say I hate Texas fans.  We beat OU 34-3 and Ewers went 20/29/199/1/1.  We beat Arkansas 20-10 on the road in front of a crowd that would have preferred to lynch us given a few dozen ropes and a police escort 20/32/176/2/0.

Shut up.

Team losses. Quinn Victories!

Anyway I don’t get why Quinn would transfer if he decides to stay in school. All the reasons he should start this season will apply next season with even more wins on his tally and more experience.  Do we really want to go into next season with a QB who only has 2 wins when we could have a QB with 23 plus wins and 2 playoff appearances.  From a football perspective seems like an easy choice.

Before the UGA game, Quinn was projected to go in the first round. Now there is talk about him potentially coming back and transfering because his draft projections have taken a nosedive. Don't blame that on the entire team. None of the other draft prospects have suffered the same fate, so that should tell you something even if you think that many fans have turned on him irrationally.

Will you at least admit Quinn played the worst out of a bad showing all around? Or can you not even do that?

Dude, it’s ok to say he had a shitty game that night. This is getting comical. You have to have some skin in the Ewers game at this point. It’s the only thing that makes any sense at all.

I think it was a combination of two things:

2) Sark was sending a message to Quinn about playing through minor injuries. That's why he called it "just football".

really? That doesn’t seem like rational Sark

ESPN now puts him #6 QB prospect, behind the usual suspects and Drew Allar, ahead of Dillon Gabriel and Jaxson Dart.

Stats they point out: #2 out of 129 QBs in most passes thrown below LOS.  #3 in lowest YPA.  and ~20th in lowest QBR while pressured (8.0).

You have no idea what you are talking about at all. Quinn was 4th or 5th since the beginning of this year. Not sure what draft info you have but because of his size, lack of mobility, and being injury prone he will never be the first QB off the board as far as the draft pundits are concerned. His only hope is combine testing and pro day.

@shadow_operative judges everything in a vacuum. Ewers is a 5* recruit because of the things he can do on the field. Those things don't need to translate into wins in order for him to finish college as the number 1 draft pick. Many a college QB got drafted high off of shitty teams, so let's put that to bed right now.

You two clowns are missing the point. If you cannot outrun defensive ends or linebackers you are always going to have a bad day behind center with blitzers coming free. Always. And that has been my point. Quinn is who he has always been. He has to stay relatively clean to be effective. How he has played has been connected to how the line has played over the last two seasons. He isn't going to throw a ton of wtf interceptions like Dart, Milroe, or Beck. Keep him clean and you are almost always going to get a relatively clean stat sheet. Missed deep balls and all. Now I am someone who appreciates a steady ship as do the coaches which is why he is playing over Arch. It's not comical or about having "skin in the game". Carson Beck threw us 3 picks despite us never getting a hand on him. Not one sack. Now flip that and ask yourself how would Quinn play in a game where he never got sacked? Probably a 5 TD night right?

Look at the two games we kept Quinn clean. Michigan and Florida. Quinn goes for 43-60 537yards 8TDs and 0ints, and that's with us throwing a towel over his shoulders just after half vs Florida.

Last year in games we gave up one sack or less Quinn went for a combined 92-138(67%) 1249 10TDs and 2ints. Wanna know why Quinn lit Bama up last year? 0 sacks given up. You want Quinn to play well vs Georgia? Don't give up 7 fucking sacks in a single game. It's not hard people.

He self sacks plenty. He’s been bad and panicky in the pocket like half the time since he got hurt.  Like he’s seeing ghosts.  The protection has overall been good.
