You clearly have a passion for Texas football as I do. We just don't see eye to eye on a lot of shit. We can still be friends but I don't have to be nice to you. Your hatred for QE has rotted your brain. I would suggest you touch some grass but I know you won't.

Who says I hate Quinn Ewers? The dude is a shell of himself and is costing this team with poor play. If we don't win a national championship this year it's solely because of him....that is plain and simple fact.

Yeah. One I thing I do note: both Quinn and Arch placed the ball about 2 yards from the sideline in those plays. Moore is running way inside of that track.

Why is Moore breaking in towards the DB?  That seems sub-optimal.

Because it's a slot fade just like Johntay ran in the TD play above with Arch. It's not a fucking corner route.

You have no idea if that's the case.  You're making it up because you have the metaphoric equivalent of syphillis brain due to your hatred of Quinn Ewers.  Go get some fresh air.

Seriously ask yourself does Quinn make more than half the teams in the playoff field better or worse?

Oregon -

Georgia -

Boise St -

Arizona St -

Penn St -

Notre Dame -

Ohio St -

Tennessee -

Indiana -

SMU -

Clemson -

He's a bottom 3 or 4 QB in this playoff.

It's literally the exact same fucking play/route concept you moron.

You can see Moore has to adjust so early and change his direction to try and make a prayer attempt catch on a defender clearly beat that if Ewers just places the ball better vs throwing to a predetermined spot of his.

There was a play earlier in the season, maybe against Georgia 1, that seemed to be the exact same route, and EXACT same outcome, except with Ryan Wingo running it. I remember getting pissed that it wasn't a TD, but Wingo had the exact same reaction, turned inside for the ball, and wound up craning his head back to try and Willie Mays it, but ultimately just couldn't get to the spot where Quinn put it. IDK who's at fault, but I just thought I'd throw in that Moore isn't the only receiver to have trouble with this route, thrown by this QB, this year.

Edit: different route. Was against OU. Wingo was outside receiver, breaks open in the 3rd quarter, 8:25 left, Quinn puts it towards the sideline/corner when Wingo is looking inside on a stutter-stepped fade route. Could not reach that corner and tried to adjust the same way Moore did.

Yeah, no offense ever runs different routes out of the same formation.  Holy shit.

He's still most likely right though. There's a reason Moore doesn't turn/flip his shoulders around when trying to run under it. The ball is not supposed to be thrown that far towards the sideline.

You're completely wrong on how the slot fade should be thrown. Just fucking admit it was a terrible throw and gave receiver no chance. See video above for how a slot fucking fade should be thrown because that's the same concept we ran and Arch nails the throw. Quinn throws to a predetermined shitty spot. Just stop defending it..

My brother in christ....you're asking Moore to be able to adjust from Between the I and the A on the field to a few yards outside the A in a second. Like that's not possible. at all.

image.png.48c3698411b47d503bf3627747032b8c.png

THAT IS WHAT YOUR EXPECTING MOORE TO ADJUST TO! Like it's virtually impossible!

1 hour ago, BurntOrange&White said:

If you agree it wasn't a good throw then stfu and quit arguing about it defending Quinn about it....

Quinns throw is actually easier than Arch's because Quinns has more room for error unless you completely botch thefucking throw like Quinn did. The tighter window from the LOS to the back of the endzone requires a more accurate ball.

Let's go with your theory. It's a longer throw. Which means more time for the receiver to adjust. The ball is in the air on the break. A slot fade is supposed to be thrown to the back pilon correct? Moore takes ten steps after locating the football. How many of those are corrective to the ball flight? How many are to the back pilon? Even if he never looks over the other shoulder 10 steps is enough to drift two yards right. Every ball that goes up in the air like that isn't going to be in the exact same spot. 10 steps is also plenty of time to look over the other shoulder. With any adjustment at all that ball is catchable. Period. But in case you are still struggling with the idea of a receiver making an adjustment. Here is Bama running the same play throwing the ball in the same spot in the endzone where Quinn put it and watch what happens. Watch how the receiver initially releases more vertical then sees the ball is thrown further outside and drifts out to make an easy catch. That is what good receivers do. Again this is the example throw Seven Time National Champion Coach Nick Saban used to talk about how they throw the slot fade. I am sure he had 30 to choose from but chose this one where the ball was thrown in the exact location Quinn put it in that you said was a shitty throw.

Again, here is video of Texas successfully throwing a slot fade this year. Watch Cook's shoulders and route, eerily similar to what Moore was doing. The goal is not to have your WR bend like fucking Gumby to make a catch.

Ball location is based on what you see happen on the release. If the receiver gets on top of the DB immediately at the break you throw this. What would Manning throw if the DB was in phase?

answer the question because it's valid. In the Bama video the DB is in phase. You can't throw the Manning ball.

Moore beats the defender and is behind him. I’ve broken. The play down and it’s same concept as the Cook play posted. Bad throw. But back to that point you made with what you said, you’d agree the interception thrown to Bond is Quinn’s fault right because it was free release and bond was open but throw was behind bond? Why would a QB throw the ball behind his receiver with a trailing DB?

On that play it looks like Cook wants to break for the back pylon but adjusts to the (less than perfect) throw.  Hmmm.

Yes, a perfect throw would have been an over shoulder catch right at the pylon. But Arch led him in the correct direction to make a fairly easy catch.

Ewers throw was very bad, significantly short of the back pylon and more towards the sideline. What are we doing here? It's right in front of our eyes. Look at the route he's running and where the ball ends up. That ball lands closer to the front pylon.

When the ball is released the DB is in phase and even redirects him. I see you didn't address the easy catch on the ball thrown in the Bama video the same way Quinn threw it. Why not?

Again ball is out on the break. I put this video up. Same play. Same ball location as where Quinn threw it but an easy catch. What did the receiver do differently to make it seem routine? No one seems willing to address this question so I will keep responding with it til someone does. If the receiver releases and the DB is in phase like this what should the throw look like?

Why are you posting that play? We literally have the same play from this team this season. And that play illustrates just how poorly thrown Quinn’s ball was too. See how that pass is more vertical and thrown with anticipation vs Quinn’s throwing way out wide predetermined?

Manning's throw is better than Quinn's. But both Quinn and Arch throw this ball about 2 yards from the sideline (Arch about 5 yards further up field). Moore is way inside of that track. See how Cook continued to run to the Pylon? See how Moore was running much more vertical? He is running his route 10 yards away from the sideline. I just don't think that can possibly be right. And y'all are acting like the ball landed 10 yards from Moore. He was literally one step away. I think he is supposed to be further outside on that route. But the ball also needs to be further up field.

I literally said this earlier….

Moores stem had him between the I and the A of Georgia. I’m not sure how wide the A is but ball lands about 1-2 yards outside of it. So let’s say 5-8 yards from where Moore was heading into the goal line?

Because the ball is thrown in the exact spot where you said it was a shitty throw but easily caught. Why are you still avoiding addressing it? If the QB sees the DB in phase at the break where should he throw it? And why was this one successful and that one not?

I have no reason to believe this ball is supposed to be thrown where the WR has to to turn and make a back shoulder catch. And based on his body language attempting to make a play, neither did Moore.

Weird how when you post a video of someone throwing the exact same ball in the exact same spot on the exact same play that Quinn does but it is easily caught the usual suspects avoid it like aids. Hot potato.

First of all, this play is about 8 yards further back compared to our play. Secondly, the WR was able to make an over the shoulder catch without having to contort his body. Thirdly, this a different team with different players. So I can only gather that you think Moore ran a poor route, which I don't believe is the case.

That play he post also illustrates just how shitty of a throw Quinn’s was vs the play in the video.

Moore has to take that route further outside. He just does. He is supposed to end up closer to the sideline, not 10 yards from it. He had to contort his body because he was caught so far inside of where the play is designed. Moore's originally running that route to catch it in between the 'I' and the 'A'. That's not where he is supposed to be. Go look at your Manning clip. The ball is thrown a couple of yards from the sideline. Neither Quinn nor Moore executed that play correctly. But if Moore keeps moving outside, he still has a damn good shot of catching that.

Moore beat his man on the slot fade the ball has to be upfield. You don’t continue carrying the route when you beat your man on the slot fade. You expect the throw to be upfield where you can go make a play on the ball or it’s under thrown upfield you can draw PI. Not under thrown and way outside where you have to completely change your route to even attempt to catch.

Ball is on the same hash and receiver starts in the same spot. It is further back but the Bama throw was flatter leaving roughly the same amount of steps to react to it actually one less. The receiver easily just drifts right and secures it. Why couldn't Moore do that with the moon ball Quinn put up he had plenty of time?

Moore has to take that route further outside. He just does. He is supposed to end up closing to the sideline, not 10 yards from it. Ok, so you're blaming Moore. No, I don't think Moore messed up. He ended up having to run horizontally towards the end to track that ball.

It was a bad throw. It's very simple. That's not an indictment on anything else he did. But if we're gonna Zapruder one play, that was on Quinn.

Because Quinn threw a shitty pass 6-8 yards outside of Moore that he’d have to be inspector gadget saying go go gadget arms and neck to catch the ball. The ball 100% needs to be more vertical

He was able to make an over the shoulder catch without contorting his body because he was in proper position and not way inside.

If Moore runs that play as he did for us, he is at the X and is going to have the exact same problem.

These coaches aren’t stupid man. They see the film and both these guys every day. We are in way too deep to make a QB switch unless the wheels just totally come off like they did the first Georgia game so I understand why we are in the position we are in. They also don’t want to just throw a redshirt freshman to the wolves during the most important part of the season.

I think we’re agreeing, the coaches know what they’re doing better than we do.

Bwhahaha.... a slot fade is supposed to be thrown a few yards from the sideline allowing the receiver to run away from the DB. It is not supposed to be vertical. It is also supposed to be thrown on the break. Even the Manning throw you are jerking off to was a few yards from the sideline.

Look at your damn Manning play. Look at where Manning throws the ball. He isn't throwing the ball at the Texas 'S', which is where Moore was running the route. Moore is supposed to break further outside on a fade. Moore was running to the X on this play before adjusting late outside.

I don't think there is any possible way Moore was supposed to be as inside as he was. Not on a fade.
