People cherry pick, I'm just returning the favor. Don't like it, ignore it. Quinn had chances to win that game, he didn't. He also isn't solely responsible for the loss like same insinuate or believe.

You know what go fuck your own face means?

I haven’t seen one person say he’s solely responsible for the loss but keep fucking that chicken. Maybe you should post every single drop of the entire season for us to breakdown. Again, just quit while you’re behind

Not sure you have been paying attention to the anti Quinn sentiment in here. Maybe you should just stop responding to my posts. You are just giving more incentive to continue.

Then quote it. He wasn’t good enough to win the game. That doesn’t mean he’s solely responsible. Quit being a bitchmade bitch.

He was plenty good enough to win the game, possibly our best offensive player overall. You are a fucking idiot if you believe Quinn didn't play well enough to win that game. Did you even watch it? You continue to prove my point.

We must’ve won then.

See, this my point that you are making for me. Thanks considering QE didn't commit any penalties, make poor coaching decisions, miss any kicks or whiff on any blocks. The QB gets too much credit when they win and too much blame when they lose. Oh yeah, he wasn't the one who dropped 5 passes in the first half either.

Where did I say it was all Quinn’s fault. You’re proving the point that you’re a jackass. Quinn didn’t play well enough to win. If he did, we would have won. The oline didn’t play well enough to win if they did we would have won, the defense didn’t play well enough to win... This isn’t hard unless you’re a fucking idiot.

What is good enough to win? Its not his fault but he wasn't good enough to win? You are saying it is his fault. Are you ok? Did I break you? Do you need to go see a therapist?

I think scoring more points is generally how they determine the winner. These are tough concepts to comprehend for sure.

Weird. These are very clearly in that vein. There are many more. Quinn was the best player on our offense on Saturday. He played one of his best games of the season. It is a relatively low bar, but one he cleared and many other players didn't.

5 hours ago, BurntOrange&White said:

Who says I hate Quinn Ewers? The dude is a shell of himself and is costing this team with poor play. If we don't win a national championship this year it's solely because of him....that is plain and simple fact.

9 hours ago, Vic Mackey said:

Quinn lost the game for me. You gain that many yards in the 1st half but only have 6pts and a 3pt lead? Bad.

Not winning the game = losing the game. His pathetic redzone play is such a liability. We saw it the other night and saw it against Washington.

I knew we were doomed when Georgia deliberately committed PI in the endzone because the DB was beat. That put us in the redzone and meltdown ensued. Our best chance was trying to score from further away unfortunately. If your QB isn't good in the redzone, you are going to struggle to win these types of games and playoff games that are going to be close. Texas recipe for winning with Quinn is building a big lead and hanging on for dear life.

9 hours ago, Vic Mackey said:

Is the bar so low for Quinn where that was "pretty fucking good"? I'd hate to see how bad he needs to be to say he didn't play well. He threw 2 picks. Georgia dropped a very easy one in the redzone, too. Led one single TD drive. Had 3 drives in a row to get into the endzone and win the game. He didn't. If he actually had a pretty good game, we win. But he wasn't and we didn't. He couldn't even outduel their backup QB.

10 hours ago, HtownHorn said:

Got it, all 10 players on offense need to execute perfectly 100% of the time, while the multi-million dollar QB needs only to execute a part of the time. Executing doesn't mean throwing a pass to the right location, it also entails knowing where to throw the ball in the 1st place.

10 hours ago, HtownHorn said:

This is such a stupid take, if Quinn played well enough to win, Texas would have won the game. He's a 3rd year starter at QB, and the the offense has consistently had problems scoring in the RZ for 3 seasons now. There has been 1 constant on offense the last 3 years.

97th in red zone scoring.  That’s ultimately on Quinn or Sark not Tre Wisner

13 hours ago, BurntEyes said:

How did Ewers perform in the redzone against Georgia1 and Georgia2? Could it possibly be that it's a reflection on the HC for chosing to start and continued use of a player that has performed poorly and for the execution by said player? Are both being a factor impossible?

On 12/8/2024 at 6:46 PM, Irish Wrist Watch said:

So you're saying the best we can do is 16pts in regulation against this amazing Georgia D. That a new tack with a better QB wouldn't have made any difference? Well there are a few teams less talented than UT who did a fuck lot better than 16 points against Georgia.

Quinn was 2 of fucking 10 in the Red Zone. Wake the Fuck Up! ... Two of Fucking Ten! He's the fucking problem. He and Sark. Nobody else. A better QB and we don't give a flip about a couple of missed field goals, because we score as much as those other teams did.

On 12/8/2024 at 11:21 AM, Minute Bull said:

Quinn is the worst starting player on this offense.  Seems like a great guy and I wish it weren’t true but it is.

The only way UT can compete for the NC is to replace him with Arch, who adds a running dimension as opposed to statue Quinn.  2 weeks to get him ready.

Will Sark have the balls to do what he must?  I doubt it.

On 12/8/2024 at 11:21 AM, Vic Mackey said:

If Quinn was worth a shit at all in the RedZone, we easily win yesterday and we play Michigan for the national championship last year. If your QB is ass in the RedZone, that's a huge liability.

A guy like Arch, who you have to respect running, is such a better weapon in the RedZone. He had to come in and clean up Quinn's garbage against aggy.

On 12/8/2024 at 10:49 AM, BurntEyes said:

Asking one man to not throw interception in the red zone is reasonable. Our oline didn't make the poor throw. A millionaire NIL 3 year starter QB did.

Also, asking for a QB who can evade a sack and scramble for a few yards occasionally is also reasonable.

Wanting a QB who has pocket awareness and can read a blitz is also reasonable.

Wanting a QB who can move the pocket and hit an open WR is also reasonable.

Quinn is anti clutch and I can’t wait for his time to be done here. If he decides not to enter the draft, I hope Sark points him toward the portal. So done with him

Most are just saying things he did bad. They aren’t saying he’s the only reason we lost. The first one you quoted is referencing the entire season not one game. Vic’s to me is the only one that truly says it’s Quinn’s fault and no one else’s.
He wasn’t good enough to win the game. Neither was the rest of the team. That’s how this works.
He hasn’t been good enough and is the main reason we won’t win a national title. Those aren’t the same thing.

Anyway this is dumb as shit. The cherry picking of single plays is how this argument started. I give zero shits about that and don’t really care to have an argument about what other posters mean.

Only one of those posts puts all the blame on Quinn for the loss.  This is a thread about Quinn though so the talk will be about him.  Most people are blaming the loss on Bert.  But according to the logic of some here he shouldn’t get any blame because after all he scored the most points in the game.

Arch is more of a Tebow type bro.  But not clutch

We know this definitively from 2.5 games he’s played extensive time in??  He already throws a better deep ball than Ewers or Tebow from what we have seen and is faster.  How about we let him starts a few games next year before we decide what he is or isn’t….

We couldn't run the ball, block for the run, catch the ball, or play the game without penalties. Ball straight through a receiver's hands in the endzone but the guy who threw for 360 was the one holding us back.

That’s the point.  But some are incredulous Quinn is getting criticism because he threw for 300 plus yards.  Well by that logic no one should be blaming Bert for the loss because he scored the most points in the game.  So you’re right it is asinine.

The game was close so individual plays and decisions make the difference in the game.  Quinn has the ball every play so he has more direct impact on the outcome than any other player and has the most chances to make mistakes and will make the most mistakes.  It’s just the nature of the sport but he also gets the most money, fame and credit for wins no matter how the games go.

Ultimately the team wins and loses together but only the QB gets referenced as being 22-4 so the QB play will be heavily scrutinized.

Just wait til the same crowd who called for Murphy to start over Ewers to start calling for Manning's backup next year. Like clockwork.

Lol at the quinn apologists claiming that surly is overreacting.  or "I just don't agree with Jerry's take" here.  Try going on twitter and searching Quinn Ewers to get the sports world's take outside the UT bubble.  It's far more harsh.  And it's 100% accurate. I guaranfuckingtee if he played for OU or ATM everyone on this thread would be united in shitting on him.

He's an average QB on a team surrounded by elite talent.  But most average QBs just have all-around average skills.  He's unique in his variance - incredible throws at times, followed by complete "how the fuck is this dude a D1 QB?" pants shitting.  It averages out to, at best, average.  Arguing individual plays or games or stats is silly and beside the point. Our offense has been held back since he came back from injury.  Period.  There's better talent on the bench that deserves a shot and is not getting it.

I firmly believe that Manning will take the final snap of our season. Four games is an eternity. And we are almost certain to play a minimum of 3.

I generally agree with all of this.

Just as an exercise in trying to fully understand Sark's decision to stick with Quinn, I think he's worked hard to establish a healthy culture and a united locker room. And a QB controversy is something he's concerned will have a negative affect.

From what I gather, the team loves and believes in Quinn and Arch. Leaders on the team support their starting QB. If we had blown a couple of games earlier it would probably be a different story.

That said, we are at the point of the season where it's not about winning or losing the job at QB. We are in the playoffs and Sark needs to whatever is necessary to win.

The entirety of college football is filled with "average quarterbacks" this year with maybe 1 being worth of a first round pick. The majority of the talk is click bait. Texas is one of the biggest brands in college football, what better way to spark a conversation than creating QB controversy. People buy it hook line and sinker. Never fails. If I gave you the stat line below would you honestly say the QB of the team with less yards was the reason the game was lost?

Not good chief....

1. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
2. Kevin Jennings, SMU
3. Cade Klubnik, Clemson
4. Will Howard, Ohio St
5. Riley Leonard, ND
6. Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
7. Drew Allar, Penn St
8. Nic Iamaleava, Tenn
9. Quinn Ewers, Texas
10. Maddux Madsen, Boise St
11. Sam Leavitt, Arizona St
12. Gunnar Stockton, Georgia

So Quinn is ranked in the bottom 4 if playoff QBs as a 3 year starter and 1.000 overall prospect alongside Gunnar Stockton(making his 1st start), Sam Leavitt(Redshirt Freshmen, 1st year starting), and Maddux Madsen(RS Sophomore, 1st year as full time starter)

CFP QBs by QBR

1 Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
2 Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
3 Will Howard, Ohio St
4 Drew Allar, Penn St
5 Sam Leavitt, Arizona St
6 Riley Leonard, ND
7 Cade Klubnik, Clemson
8 Kevin Jennings, SMU
9 Maddux Madsen, Boise St
10 Quinn Ewers, Texas
11 Nico Iamaleava, Tenn
12 Gunnar Stockton, Georgia*

*Carson Beck would be ranked 6th if healthy.

So by QBR Quinn and Nico are the two worst QBs outside of the guy making his first start.
