Quinn Ewers has been the QB on two Texas playoff teams.

We haven't been this good since 2009.

You hoes ain't loyal.

No, he is not perfect Superman. There are only a few of those people at QB.

I hope he does the thing in the playoffs and we beat everyone by 3.  When he goes to the league and falls to a not shitty team, he'll be fine.

Respect the Jewels.

I am hoping we win every game but by far more than 3.  Quinn gives me extreme anxiety watching his flare for the dramatic.  😝

The defense blew the 2023 OU game in the last minute by letting them score a touchdown. In the previous drive, the offense should have scored a TD instead of settling for a FG. We also had 15 seconds to make a miracle happen and we could barely get across midfield.

It’s fucking hard to get the offense going when you throw a pick on each of the first 2 drives of the game. Quinn has a terrible habit of throwing interceptions in the opening drive of games that is happening even more this year.

A lot of people were questioning Sark’s game/clock management for the way this final drive went. I’m pretty sure in his PC he mentioned that he switched from TD to burn clock and take 3 points after the sack or something.
I am fairly certain that this is when the board went all-in on the “Seven Win Steve” shit.
Anyhow, that drive was not a QE failure. You have other better examples. Everything he does doesn’t have to be evidence in support of your opinion. That’s just how reality works.

Great, tell the line to block better, receivers to run the correct routes, Bond not to get called for two penalties, and Sark not to call a fucking stupid double fake screen. A lot of things go wrong for us in the redzone. It isn't all on Quinn. He could play better. So could a lot of other people on offense.

Wait a minute. Golden has multiple dropped passes? I cannot really remember a bad drop from Golden this year. Possible it has happened, but he has been one of the most consistent players for the offense.

I don’t characterize that end zone play as a drop. That is definitely a contested catch opportunity. Catchable pass, but I wouldn’t say a drop. Even if you want to call that a drop, I cannot think of another. He also makes the tough catches (50/50 ball on sideline being one).

The ball Golden did not catch hit him in the chest going down in the end zone. That was an NFL level throw and would have been an NFL level catch. I am not trying to harsh Golden, merely pointing out this omni-critical hate for Quinn is over the top.

I re-watched the game while coughing up a lung this week due to a cold and was on a few meds but pretty sure Golden dropped;

tipped pass at or around the 14 m Q1 mark was then later ruled incomplete after review. Golden had it in his hands came down with it and then chucked and rucked it. Not sure he breaks away because I was watching sky cam broadcast but it seemed like he would have slashed up field for a chunk.

He made 3-4 more catches in Q1 two of which are highlight worthy. Quinn threw them.

Q2 Golden got called on a rather questionable holding call that negated  a pretty sweet end around.
Golden made a few more catches on some sideline patterns  to close out second half. He was great, not perfect, made a lot of badass catches on throws by Quinn. Perfect he was not. Neither was Quinn.

I would not bench either because perfection does not exist. Fact is I have not seen Arch make a throw anywhere near as accurate as the dropped TD in the end zone.  Maybe one day.

See how this works?

Ewers should be better than Bert Auburn, yet Auburn out performed Ewers against Georgia. Our kicker sucks, comparing the "star" QB to him is not the winning hand you Quinn dick suckers think you have. Never mind the shitty sack Quinn took right before Auburn missed a 50+ yarder.

All the drops last week makes me think that something is deeply wrong with this offense..

I think maybe Quinn's lack of success in the Red Zone combined with his ability to turn the ball over combined with his hesitancy (or self-doubt, or nervousness, whatever) in the Red Zone, combined with some god-awful passes/near interceptions in the Red Zone has bled over to the rest of the players. The whole fucking team behind Quinn seems to have a lack of focus, a "what's gonna go wrong next" psychosis. A ball is thrown too slowly, perhaps and it throws off their timing as they wait to get whacked after the catch... or whatever... has resulted in a team that can't score TDs inside the Zone, and I haven't seen any signs in the last eight games that they're gonna get over it. They're snake bit.

Sark, you've got to try something different to help them get their mojo back. Take Quinn the fuck out inside the thirty for a few possessions and see if that helps anything. Worst case scenario, it doesn't, but it helps them get the Arch monkey off their backs. Maybe they'll step up and say "I guess we're gonna have to drag Quinn across the finish line."

Do something... Just try anything Sark, because the formula you've been running isn't working worth a shit. Quit being a fucking spectator. Quit being a fucking Xs and Os guru and return to being a coach that does whatever needs to be done to win. Engage the team in a new tack. Almost makes me wonder if Sark has caught a bit of the Quinn Hesitation Psychosis and it's fucking him up too. In scientific terms: Seems like everyone on offense is running around, being a pussy. Goddammit, you got to beat these motherfuckers next Saturday. Hop to it.

Again. You sure about that boss man? Look at these posts below. Bert Auburn was better than the guy that threw for 360? My stance has been people posting shit like this. Go back and watch the Georgia offense in the redzone vs one of the best defenses in college football. They didn't even throw it down the field. Their receivers caught balls. TE catches it short of the 1st down and refuses to be denied. Line blocked well and they ran the football. They spread us out and ran a QB lead. The run was a no nonsense, straight line run any QB could do what made it work was how well they blocked it up. They played better in every phase of the game than we did EXCEPT for QB. Meanwhile what did we do? Penalties on all the positive plays. Couldn't block. Couldn't run. Couldn't hit field goals. If we just caught the TD and hit those field goals we win this thing going away. If we could run the football we win by a couple TDs. But Ewers....The only teams that have beat Georgia are Milroe and spreading them out 4 or 5 wide and making them play in space. They are a bad match up for the way we like to play.

I said Texas lost because they couldn’t make plays in critical moments and struggled in the Redzone. That includes Quinn, the offense, and the defense. The team lost.

Completely agree. If most posts were like this one, this thread would not be so long

(I’d have to go back and look at the tipped pass, but in general hard to call a tipped pass a drop. Change of trajectory is usually pretty tough on a receiver)

So, we're on our 3rd and 4th RB and the answer to not being able to fully run the offense predicated on complimentary power running is... The QB has to "do better" against... (Checks notes) one team - UGA - that is perfectly built and orchestrated to stop a team that can't run the ball.

Final answer?

Teams that have beaten Georgia in their last 4-5 losses all had QBs who could run the ball.

So yes, having a QB who can run the ball when you don’t have your run game going is a way to beat them.

I kinda hate myself and what I've become as a fan that I can both appreciate what Quinn has done and really want his time to be over so we can move on to Arch. This should be a time of tremendous satisfaction and contentment as a fan of this program given the utter failure we've been force fed the past 10 years. Sadly, it's a bit like how I felt as the Ehlinger years were winding down. That said, I want Quinn to go out in a blaze of glory where he's going deep into the playoff and helping his draft stock. The table has been laid out for Quinn. Time to seize the moment. It would help if his teammates and coaching would also seize the moment.

As JerryHubbard said, we got #2.  And #4 if you believe that is true has more experience than the other theoretical #2.

In the conference slate of 8 games, we averaged more yards per rush than anyone.  4.63 to 4.38 as 2nd best.  Our QB run game was non-existent.  For others it was not.

I rewatched a bit of the Georgia game.  Think 2nd series play 1.  Wisner loses 3 yards.  Actually pretty well blocked.  Wisner takes a false step to the right(presumably designed) so it leaves far too big a gap between pullers and the ball carrier.  Maybe LBs keying guard because he doesn’t budge and shoots inside.  As much as Sark problem as anyone.  Refusal to have some QB run is a detriment.

That is a different argument that I agree with.

I believe a QB that is a true threat to run is always a better option in today's football.

Quinn ain't that, so expecting him to become that against UGA is unrealistic and is not "he sucks" or "do better".

That is "Hey, coach... No more QBs that won't factor into the run game and have limited escapability to extend pass plays."
