Good plan, completely abandon Sark's offense that is renowned for its production because his current QB is not very good at it!

Dude get it through your head, Quinn gets sacked when Sark DOESNT call the touchdown play.

When Sark DOES call the touchdown play we score. Coincidence? Stats don’t lie dude.

Lulz. Ok guy. I know exactly how the conversation began when y’all started talking about Zach Wilson and his film. You were somehow flabbergasted that AR got drafted despite his elite measurables and athleticism. Then you made a who cares comment.

So again, do you even watch football?

Where did I mention Zach Wilson exactly? Oh, that's right, I didn't.

If  the NFL was running the wing T or option, absolutely, go draft you the best fucking athlete there is to run it. Problem is they don't. If you drafted quarterbacks on athletic ability Brock Purdy and Tom Brady would have been coaching football at a junior high somewhere.

If I took the names away and gave you the stats career wise from Quinn and AR, AR is a UDA and Quinn gets drafted. AR wasn't even a good college QB and he is deserving a first round pick because he can run fast and jump high?

This conversation  went this direction because someone said due to QB play Quinn would get drafted in the 5th round. I reminded them of Anthony Richardson. Please explain how Anthony Richardsons college QB play warrants a 1st round pick when Quinn's, which is superb comparatively is 5th round. I hate that I have to waste my time by spoon-feeding you but here we are.

Are you dense? Anthony Richardson got drafted because he’s a measurable monster. Quinn doesn’t have the measurables so his Qb play needs to be on the level. It hasn’t been. What are you not understanding about that? Just because you for some reason think the NFL shouldn’t care doesn’t mean they don’t.

You are the one that brought up AR and then acted flabbergasted when given the reason he was picked.

Every aspect of the team is better this year except Quinn. Didn't you get the email for the talking points?

Imagine watching the right side of our line this year. Sacks. Penalties. Batted balls. Busted assignments. And thinking it was better than last year's line. But if you admit to a lesser line that might hurt your argument.

Holy fuck, you think I'm dense? Wow. Even after explaining it to you.........after you supposedly "understood".

Your argument doesn't discount what he is saying. He is saying you shouldn't draft a QB in the first round on athleticism. Jamarcus Russell shoulda told you.

No shit. The point is it’s dumb to bring up AR as an example of a Qb that didn’t have the film because he wasn’t drafted based on his film. Bringing him up in relation to Quinn makes no fucking sense.

That is part, the other part is if you were to determine a draft grade on QB play(as someone suggested) where would Anthony Richardson have gotten drafted? I know where it wouldn't have been.

When you are talking about someone being drafted in a certain round based on their actual play at the position it makes perfect sense. That is the entire point.

That’s not why AR was drafted which is the point. You brought up a guy who wasn’t drafted based on his play. He was drafted based on his measurables. Then when that was pointed out you shifted to a narrative of “well that’s dumb”. Newsflash, the NFL drafts based on measurables all the fucking time.

I'm sorry I can't make you understand. You are so close, I think. If you stop making it about AR maybe you will figure it out.

IMO - if Quinn and the Horns have a great 1st Qtr, we will be OK and win by 15+. Early game Quinn struggles and no running game, here comes Arch and “Buckle Up”!

If somehow Arch leads us to victory, he should be the starter going forward.

The recruiting gurus and Quinn gurus in this thread have told us how amazing Quinn's arm talent is but film doesn't match that analysis.

So you’re admitting the recruiting gurus that generated the 1.000 rating that you keep touting as a gotcha are flawed. Bet.

Texas should have no problem with Clemson. If Arch plays more than a bit part or mop-up something disastrous happened or Quinn got injured.

Wow, that is a statement. Not sure you ever saw JaMarcus and his 4.83 40 play.

Concur. It was an aberration, not the norm. Our defense was so deplorable last year it's amazing we made it to the CFP. But hey, I'll take the loss and move on. But we should have won that game. The last 60 seconds were brutal to witness.

@Thatguy

”Our defense was so deplorable….”

What were you saying about our fans?

Losses were to a top 10 NFL pick at Qb with tons of experience.  Two other first round picks from that offense.  A second tackle that’s already started in the NFL.  That doesn’t include a frosh all American C or the fastest TE at the NFL combine.  The other loss had a QB that’s in this years playoff, has won for 3 different programs and was given 3 turnovers.

Top 10 in DFEI.  Top 10 in ESPN efficiency defense.  Higher than the offense in both.  Second in 3rd down defense.  Top 10 in red zone defense even higher in red zone TD percentage.

I am sure we can then go to well the secondary sucks.  Passes defensed #19.  Sacks 39th.  Tied for 10th in picks.  Tied for 16th in picks for returned for a TD.  Tackles for loss 28th.

Our opponents had 15 offensive draft picks.  In the first 100 picks. 30% of offensive picks in the top 100.  I’m not sure a single one was an RB.  Doesn’t include Bond or Golden.  Doesn’t include Gabriel or Milroe.  Just pitiful talent we played against.

Well “Dillon Gabriel threw for a lotta yards.”  Nevermind he had 7 games with more passing yards.  And it was his lowest passer rating of the season. Oh and Jalen Milroe had his 2nd lowest passer rating (behind Michigan) and only game with 2 picks (set us up at the Bama 5 and 30,respectively).  And only Michigan held them to fewer points the entire season.

Defense pretty much higher rated in every way than our offense given the relative strength of our opponents.  Offensive schedule strength of those opponents was 10th.

There are other measurables. Like being able to throw a ball through a brick wall.

I am well  aware. He wasn’t drafted because of his athleticism. That was your word, not mine. He was drafted because he was a big guy with a cannon of an arm.

You said earlier something about our fans being smart or something.

Threw out some facts and figures to counter a comment about the defense.

I guess you don’t remember or before your time. There are some great story’s on Jamarcus Russell. Supposedly threw a football through the uprights from the 20, while on a knee. Raiders gave him a blank tape and told him to study it. Russell came back the next day and they asked him about the tape. He said I’ve learned a lot. Stories like that

Oh okay I see what you were talking about. Yeah, our only shortcoming on defense last year was the pass rush. If we had Moore and Simmons last year we win the CFP. Defense was elite stopping the run. Just needed edge guys.

This is surly, people still argue about Chris Simms vs Applewhite.

Quinn could win it all this year, and people would find reasons to be mad .

Mad because he should have won it all more god damn it!
