Don’t know if any of yall watch 3rd and longhorn but the host tried to pull the “everyone is hating on Quinn” rant and Jeremy Hills and Alex Okafor shut that nonsense down.  Guess they hate Texas and Quinn too 🙄

It's Simms 2.0. The same dumb ass people that hated him are the same dumb ass people who hate Quinn. What's crazy is after Simms left and we were still getting trounced by OU and losing that random game to knock you out of contention, people should've been like "it wasn't Simms after all" but no they still stayed on the train. Mack's program was the same until he left. Even Colt couldn't get out of the Mack stank with what happened at Tech and in the NC game. One player was able to spray some febreeze on that shit for exactly one season, and his name was Vincent Paul Young Jr.

Quinn was pretty far down the list on reasons we lost to Georgia but here we are. Special teams. Running game. Penalties. Drops. Offensive playcalling. Then Quinn. Expecting your QB to convert on 3rd and 15 every series is wild shit. Go look at the play by play.

Quinn is at the top of reaons list of why this team possibly won't win a national title(running back injuries is #2), dude is 1-3 in post season games. Congrats on his OU record playing 2 of the worst OU teams this century.

And LMAOOOOOO at you saying Colt couldn't get out of Mack's stink when the dude finished his career he was the winningest QB in college football history. Colt was 3-1 vs Oklahoma, 3-1 in bowl games(the 1 loss being the game he started but was injured), ranks 3rd all time in accuracy, and should have played in back to back national championships but BCS fucked us.

2009 team is a great example of how good a QB with their legs can be for a team....we had no fucking rushing attack worth a shit that year but Colt with his legs propelled this team forward in games. He ended up being the second leading rusher on that team. I'd say 2024 defense is better than 2009 defense. 2009 had a worse receiving group that included James Kirkendoll and Dan Buckner as the second and 3rd leading receivers behind Shipley. 2009 had a worse offensive line as well.

Just LOL at you for bringing an absolute Texas legend Colt, who is a far better QB than Ewers, down while trying to prop up Quinn. God damn you're fucking stupid.

Imagine watching the right side of our line this year. Sacks. Penalties. Batted balls. Busted assignments. And thinking it was better than last year's line. But if you admit to a lesser line that might hurt your argument.

Defense is better, offense is struggling in big games

He uses batted balls as a negative for the right side of the line but that shit is happening on both sides of the line because his terrible arm angle and being 6'1. He also double pats the ball right before he throws which signals to the defensive front to get your hands up.

Think you took that wrong. Okafor and Hills pushed back against the idea that it’s just “hate”.  They pointed out the legitimate issues people have with Quinn’s play and that he should expect criticism if he is the starting QB for the longhorns just like Dak gets heat no matter what stats he puts up.

At which point the OL needs to punch the guy in the dick. Simms went through a stretch of batted balls which was crazy given his stature and delivery. I think sometimes QB’s struggle with their awareness of the throwing lane and anticipating the mess that happens in front of them:

Dak get's legitimate criticism because he's essentially a early 2000's QB at tech.  Great between the 20's, puts up big numbers.  Shits the bed in big games and high pressure situations and often pads his stats when playing from behind because the game is out of reach and all they do is throw the ball into soft coverage

Quinn just keeps making the same mistakes.  That's where I see most of the criticism coming from.  Both teams have high expectations, but so do most of the premier programs.  That's the job.

I preferred Simms over Major. I prefer Arch over Quinn. If the goal is to win a national championship, I favor who has the most talent and upside to deliver big plays in big games. Major was short and often had a noodle arm, but was smart and could put the ball where it needed to go. His talent wouldn't have played against the 2001 Miami defense, for example. Quinn has beautiful touch passes and is usually accurate, but it hasn't translated to points in recent weeks due to good defenses and his injuries. Arch adds dimensions of QB running threat and deep balls to stretch the defenses, while not being as accurate at the lateral and short passes. It is possible to believe Arch gives Texas the best chance to win the next 3 games without "hating" Quinn.
