I'm sorry, I don't remember discussing anything with you.  If Sark's benching of Quinn for less than half a quarter is evidence that he thought Quinn couldn't win the game, what does the fact that he benched Arch say about his thoughts on Arch?

I mean, this is really simple stuff you are failing to grasp.

Can you bench the backup?  Sark was asked postgame after uga if he thought he was going back to Quinn and he said he was unsure. If Quinn didn’t go back in his Texas career was over.

Have you guys talked about Quinn’s projected wonderlic score yet?  How does that factor into the calculus?  I’ll hang up and listen.

All I know is that if not for his teammates, coaches, and fans who let him down, it would have been much higher.

What I like about surly:

this board can sure hate on Texas players and coaches better than any team Ive read about. If you listen to Tennessee fans their qb is the greatest and he is no where close to Quinn caliber or has skins on wall.

It’s almost like those two schools completely different levels of tradition and success. Tennessee is happy just to get invited to the party

Look, we've been waiting two months for Quinn to get over this psychological hump he's got inside the thirty. Using an ambiguous, difficult to define term like "soft" to describe his throws might be difficult for him to process in the heat of the moment.

On the other hand, if we define them as "pussy throws", the phrase will strike terror straight ionto the heart of his cerebral cortex. If I was a QB accused of making pussy throws, I'd never fucking make another one in my life. I'd be up at dawn the next day - with my head coach - firing, I mean FIRING that fucking ball threw that fucking tire! Quinn would turn 2 of 10 for 5 into 8 of 10 for 90.

I hope it's not too late...

Arguing opinion against another opinion with no actual evidence is the surly way. We need to kill this thread cause it keeps killing my buzz about the season. Let’s win this motherfucker with Trey Owens at qb motherfuckers.

then don't click on it you dumb idiot fuck

One is a RS freshman and the other is a RS junior starting his third year and that makes a difference with fans. Quinn has one big xii championship so I wouldn’t say “skins” on the wall.  I am hoping Quinn lights up in the cfp.  But looking at this year, you can’t say Nico is “no where close to Quinn’s caliber”.

Lmao ok. The fact there was a decision at all to be made makes you look like a slap dick for arguing against it. You got your head in the sand and your ass up.

Tell me you've never competed at a remotely high level without telling me you've never competed at a remotely high level.

Pretending Quinn hasn’t had an issue with batted balls his entire career is hilarious. You can still defend Quinn without just lying.

He had two batted against OU if I remember correctly. One that hit the ground and one that we still caught.

After watching a little highlights he also had at least 2 vs Tech, maybe a 3rd unless he just threw a duck.

Rather than calling someone a liar post the video proving me wrong. The whole point of the post I made was saying the line wasn't better. While you are at it prove that wrong too.

Oh I didn’t. But unlike you, I’m not a big enough dipshit to recognize Shaq wouldn’t be winning any 3 point contests. But admittedly I didn’t play high level basketball.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make, but I think it's pretty clear Sark thought Arch might provide a change of pace, tried it, didn't see it, and went back to the guy he thought was better suited to winning the game.

Against whom and when has those TDs come against. Facts matter. Get ahold of yourself. Arch has a similar turnover rate to Quinn with a higher interceptable throw percentage.

PFF has Arch with a turnover worthy rate at less than half of Ewers.

Ewers rate last year was slightly less than Arch this year.

Cool, wasn't referencing PFF. Even still. the majority of his pass attempts, yards and TDs came against the three worst teams on our schedule.

Context. Have you watched Tenn play? They have a far more potent rushing attack so they see a lot of 1v1's on the back end. Go watch how Vandy was lined up against them vs us.

1.  They expanded the playoff.
2.  The other 3 teams lost their coaches and 2 replaced top 10 draft picks at QB.

Happy to be in the playoffs but this isn’t the flex everyone keeps using it as.

We are the third ranked team. Would have made it in even without the expansion.

I love that you're posting these stats as an argument against him, LOL!

He had 3 touchdowns of 67 yard, 51 yards, and 75 yards in the span of 15 game time minutes in his first meaningful appearance at QB. The other guy has two 50+ yard plays for the entire season.

He was the best player on the field that day for us vs. Miss State. In his 2nd start ever.

Geez, I wonder why people would be excited about that? And that he's only going to get better?

What were you referencing?  Or did you just go on “feel?”

Yes, MSU is an awful defense.  ULM actually had pressure so are you going to discount that?  Those are simply the numbers.

When are we gonna spin up the KJ Lacey and Dia Bell threads in preparation for Arch Manning not being an NFL QB right off the bat and KJ Lacey being everything Arch isn't BUT THEN KJ Lacey being the worst thing ever because Texas is 40-2 under him so Dia Bell is our savior? That's how this works right?

It was the same as far back as 1983. I remember seeing folks on street corners with cardboard signs saying we should move on from the Robert Moerschell/Rick McIver experiment and give Todd Dodge a shot. And that team was 11-1!

A year later, letters were written to Texarkana Gazette sports editor Johnny Green saying Dodge should be benched in favor of Brett Stafford.

Ah. This reminds me of the old days when we would beat Rice 52-7 and thought that meant we were ready for the Cotton. Memories.
