is Arch really truly a running threat though? i feel like he has gotten kind of gotten pigeonholed into it this year. (yes, a long run against a shitty team and a gritty TD against A&M not withstanding)

Maybe his genealogy has me thrown off, but his skill set is pocket passing, isnt it?

Arch is a legit QB. He not a Tebow type gimmick QB. Just a way to add an element Quinn can not and get Arch some action

Yeah twins is probably a nightmare. I had two in diapers at the same time and that was plenty. I couldn't imagine them being the exact same age and exact same genes. Maybe they will be non-identical twins or whatever.

some advice, Quinn.. nail polish on the big toe of one of them to keep track of who is who.

He’s not going to be LaNorris Sellers at South Cackalacky but he’s got sneaky wheels. But, yes, his passing skills will be what makes him or not ultimately. It’s just that ability to move, and his size, compared to oft-injured and slow Ewers that has convinced Sark to use him the way he is currently.

It’s almost as if all the talking heads didn’t watch Texas games and just looked at the stats all season. And then when people actually watched Texas play during the SEC Championship game, they said wait a minute, this is the offense Texas is rolling with?

It’s not like all the talking heads decided to coordinate with each other and shit on Quinn at the same time. They’ve just finally watched a full Texas game with the offense we’ve been seeing since Quinn came back from injury.

The talking heads don't watch games. They just regurgitate the same talking point without watching the full games. If they watched the last Georgia game no way they think "Quinn is holding this offense back" when the offense ran for 31 yards and had a ton of penalties.

Well technically we ran for 58 yards in the Georgia game and Quinn’s sacks added a -27 the rushing total making it 31 yards. So fucking what? Clemson ran for 76 yards against us and Klubnik put the team on his back and nearly got them within 7 if they didn’t get stuffed on the 1 yard line.

The QB is supposed to step up and make shit happen when the running game sucks, not sulk around and have guys like you blaming the lack of offensive production on the shitty run game. Having a QB who is unable to score points with passing plays despite having a great statistical number of passing yards is pretty shitty considering our QB is a 5* and the guy calling plays is Steve Sarkisian.

You mean how Quinn threw for over 300 yards and came up just short vs Georgia? Did you see Clemson receivers dropping passes? Did you see Clemson players getting called for 11 penalties? That's exactly what I mean when I say regurgitating the same talking points. Cade put the ball in the air. Some good. Some meh. Some great. The guy on the other end has to make a play. If you watched in the Georgia game no way you come away with Quinn being the issue. Also, the whole replace Quinn with Cade thing is dumb because Cade scored 3 points vs Georgia.

3.5 (12th)

Air Yards per Attempt

5.0 (11th)

Touchdown Rate

26.7% (8th)

And yet we have 21 TDs and 1 INT. Blah, blah blah. I have already addressed the redone issues. Throwing the ball isn't this issue, the complete inability to run the ball in the red zone is the issue. I'm gonna guess and say we are dead last in rushing ypc in the red zone as I know for a fact it is well below 2 ypc. Average over the last 5 years prior were all over 3 ypc.

I think he means Cade put up 24 pts vs a defense that gave up 12. That is 2x

Quinn put up 16 vs a defense that gives up 20. that is 80%

Cade put up 3 TD passes vs a team that gave up 4 all year.

Quinn put up 1 TD pass vs a team that gave up 12

I think people saying Klubnick has a better game is pretty simple. He led his team to 24 pts vs a defense giving up 12. He had 3 TD passes vs a defense that gave up 4 the prior 12 games. He did that with 0 run game. Clemson RBs ran it 11 times in total. You put the cape on and are responsible for 80-85%  of your offenses plays and double up the opposing defenses average pts allowed, that is a good game.

I think that is what people are saying about Klubnick, but apparently that does not apply to all QBs.

How many games has Quinn trailed in this year?

Who gives a fuck, dude?  If a QB always leads then it logically follows that he doesn’t need to bail out his team constantly because they are never behind.  You’re just a hater.  Admit it.

Most people have recognized that little was asked of Quinn and that is why they have said Klubnick played better. All you have to do is go back and actually read those comments. It’s only really offended 1 poster

Klatt with a pretty fair review of Quinn.  Sounds like he actually watches the game:

IMO, Klatt is the best talking head out there, by a pretty big margin. There are a few others that I really like, Babers is great regarding Texas stuff, for example, but in the bigger field I rarely find any disagreement with his takes. Even if I don't LIKE them, they are usually logically sound.

ESPN had a top 50 list of players in the playoffs last week. There were 6 QBs on it, and Quinn was not one of them. I'm not convinced on a couple of the guys like Allar, but Klubnik was definitely on it, and definitely played like he is who they say he is. And did it against the best defense in the country.

What a long way from betting favorite to win the Heisman.

So, 2 losses versus winning every game except Vandy by 2 scores.  You are a hater.  Sit your ass down on the couch next to Klubnik and shut up.

There’s just. Nothing really elite about his numbers.   Now we can spin it and say he needs better coaches and players but are we sure klubnik and allar etc have superior surroundings.  Look up Luke Altmeyers stats

We absolutely can win and I don’t think Quinn isn’t a top five qb.  But at some point we have to look at the stats, be honest with ourselves and say maybe he’s underperforming and his teammates and coaches aren’t the reason.  We can talk about his record all day and I’ll give him his flowers but we are kind of doing well in NIL so I don’t think it’s a lack of talent or coaching

What’s odd is klubniks seasons n stats are better than Quinn’s.   I know, klubnik had better talent around him

The Auburn qb scored more points vs aggy than Quinn did. Also if Quinn’s one shining moment is scoring 16 vs uga what does that say about him? Milroe, who has been dogged in this thread, lit them up

That’s because you’re not a media talking head, former scout, or scout that has it out for Ewers. Your reputation isn't on the line when you evaluate players. You’re an unbiased and objective Surly poster

You don’t have the option. He’s already the QB of your favorite team this year.

If I’m building a team from scratch I’ll take Ewers over allar as well.  Allar has those nfl tools teams like and while he plays with far more talent than Quinn he doesn’t have a lot of nfl athletes to work with

He did get them to 7, it was 31-24 until Blue's 77 yard TD stretched it back to 14.

Ewers doesn’t need to be great. He needs to keep his head and manage risk, which Sark challenges with play calls at times. Pirouette Play, ‘Nuff Said. This team is balanced enough to win a NC if Quinn accomplishes that.

This is right. Quinn is the best Texas QB since Colt graduated. He is very accurate when he has time to throw (off his back foot) and can execute a game plan when things stay on schedule. When things start getting shaky, so does he. With VY or Colt, you assumed a second half lead meant the win was in the bag, and you had faith we’d comeback if we trailed in the 4th. With Quinn, we usually build a lead early and try not to choke it away in the second half. I get an ulcer if we aren’t up by 14+, and have little faith in Quinn if we fall behind in the 4th. Hell, if we were down 4 with 2:00 left, I might take Sam Ehlinger over Quinn to be the man and will his team to the end zone.
(I am prepared for longhornlover, thatguy, and the rest of the white knights to throw out some more stats proving Quinn is the most clutch QB in NCAA history….)

I’m obviously rooting for him, but I’ll be happy to move on to Arch next season for his more diverse skill set.

8th out of 12th in completion percentage, 11th out of 12th on air yards per attempt among QBs that made in the playoffs. At some point, we need to hold his OL, RBs, WRs, and coaches accountable.  We're letting him down!!
