Fuck all you fucking haters. Quinn was clutch when it mattered most. I look forward to the Arch era but for now, THATS MY QUARTERBACK

4th and 13 will go down in the all time Longhorn highlight reel. I only wish he hadn't allowed the Sun Devils to hang around in the first place. Would've been better for my cardiovascular health. But he won exactly the kind of game that we were notorious for losing. That's a net plus for his legacy no matter how you slice it. Fuck the haters.

The best outcome from here is that this game awakens something in Quinn (and hopefully the entire offense) that we can ride for two more games. We've seen that movie before where a team finally passes a trial by fire and takes things to the next level.

That's the outcome I'll be rooting for.

honestly coming around to laying at least half of the blame on how Quinn plays on Sark.

You coming in to post this fucking bullshit at this moment could not possibly be any more on brand.

Tell me this, when Quinn does finally move on from UT are you going to go with him? I sure as fuck hope so, you hopelessly devoted little Stan.

Stop being an asshat. The truth is the truth. I swear some of you dudes have vaginas. You were in here bitching before the game was even over but you wanna talk about me being the problem. Go back to any game thread. Any year. You will never find me being as much of a bitch as some of you were.

That's the 1st time I can recall Quinn actually winning a game, props. He was obviously the reason we were in that situation but he bailed himself out.

It was obviously a combination of no run game, Sark not leaning on the run game when we finally got it, and Ewers missing on a couple of key throws. Bad pick on Ewers but the other half of the blame should be why we’re calling that play given all the context of the situation. This is a big moment for Sark to look himself in the mirror.

Anyway, Ewers bailed the entire offense and Burt out. Clutch throw after clutch throw on the final three series’ of the game.

Maybe I'm wrong, but for the future of this playoff run, how we ended up winning is a better outcome than Bert Auburn making that FG in regulation.

Hoping for this as well.

Sometimes when a team comes back from the dead like that they start to believe they're a team of destiny.  Or at the very least, a 10-0 hole don't make a shit.

Sark was stubborn today about having balance, even when it was clear the run game was not working. I think he was really counting on the size advantage winning, but they were quick and disruptive and we never found the recipe.

I actually thought the pass play call on 2nd down while up 8 was appropriately aggressive for the situation, but Quinn made a bad throw. No idea what was going on elsewhere on that play, but he either picked the wrong guy or threw the wrong type of ball. Possibly both.

5. Game looks pretty over. 4th and 13. The OL makes the play of the game. ASU brings the house and are completely stoned allowing Golden to get 5 yards behind the defense, and Quinn hits him

Pass pro finally stopping the middle blitz when it absolutely had to was so unexpected. Quinn hitting that throw was undeniably legendary. I’ve been a QE hater but that was so fucking sick. His final 3 throws of this game raised his draft grade

First off props for the OT. Can’t deny that. He balled there. I was wrong for calling him to be benched at that moment. Second, he also played like shit for a large portion of the game which got us into the OT. Is that more on sark or him? I’ll leave that to experts to decide.

hopefully this is a turning point but this is also game 15 in year 3, seems like we should have had that click a bit farther back but I’ll take it if it means a win. I still don’t think he has it but I’m hoping he can prove me wrong. I would love to be wrong

I don’t see how you can blame the QB for third quarters. We typically out scheme pre-game, then always(?) get out-schemed at half time. It’s a structural issue

I am too. I don’t understand the play calling at times, particularly the slow developing misdirection. Sark gets too cute at times. It was less evident in the pass game today. It was obvious in the run game today.

Overall I thought Quinn played well.

That is Sark though. There are going to be 3-4 great calls and 3-4 WTF calls a game.

we won this game today because of quinn and in spite of sark.

someone close to sark needs to ask him if he wants to call plays or be the head coach because he cant do both.  he is great at play design and all of that but he cant call an offensive game for nothing.

He did scheme Helm wide open on the TD pass.

I also think he got Quinn going. Nice target to motion to Golden on curl. Then trips away from Helm to isolate him on a kind of slant route. That got Texas down for the missed FG, but Quinn looked much better from that point on

Sark tries to set up many first read or one read plays for Quinn. For as much as Sark publicly trusts Quinn, he doesn't call plays like he trusts him. Part of the overall frustration.

Like any QB, the best version of Quinn is the one in rhythm. The two drives to set up failed FG's really helped get him in rhythm, and luckily he stayed in the groove in OT. You could see him getting more comfortable timing wise on each drop back.

Sark has been guilty several times this year of not getting QB's in rhythm, and it's another area where he needs to do some self scouting during the off-season.

I said it in the other thread. ASU followed the Georgia example on defense. They played to stop the run and make Texas throw. The short passes were open, but if the deep pass was called and covered, there was no progression to other receivers. On the last ASU interception, the deep pass covered well, but the running back was wide open over the middle. ASU with the Georgia defensive strategy almost pulled it off.

Sark's opening script is usually pass heavy to get Quinn in rhythm.

The better idea is to run more 2 minute hurry up offense. We should particularly do it to start the 3rd quarter moving forward IMO.

I would avoid the post route with a safety over the top like the plague if I was Sark. It’s not high percentage throw from Ewers and arguably his worst.

I didn’t like throwing deep on the 2nd and 4 with 6 minutes left but I also wonder if Bond was the primary read that play. They had Golden coming on an over route that looked open on TV.

I also would have hoped our 3rd year starting QB would know risking throws into double coverage in that spot is ridiculous. Hell, a sack would have been better.

Ewers made the plays when we needed him though.

Helm was wide open in the flat also.
