That is why I said this was everything the offense has to give us. It was Quinnessential Texas offense. Long stretches of incompetence and moments of greatness. Time to just accept we are but feathers floating in the hurricane that is the Texas offense. Just buckle up and enjoy the ride. It’s impossible to predict this offense.

At this point it doesn't matter and it isn't changing.

Quinn made a goodly amount of mistakes, Sark made way more throughout the game.

We're gonna get stretches of Michigan Quinn (2 times today) and stretches of mediocre at best Quinn.

We are not going to make half time adjustments so 3rd quarters are going to continue to suck. A lot.

Today we got Michigan Quinn when it mattered most and it won the game. He was aces and I'll own i didn't expect it but I'm extremely happy about it.

We'll be fortunate and that will be enough or it won't, but it's going to be exactly what we'll see for the next 1-2 games.

I'm here for the ride and have been all year.

I’ve bad mouthed him plenty but I’ll also admit he showed real heart and balls this game, this game was wild as hell and for the first time I can recall it wasn’t entirely on him, do I think he’s elite? No, do I think he’s some talent and can ball the fuck out at times? Absolutely and tonight shows that in spades. Bert can go fuck himself though, and we are in deep shit with anything less than a stellar team performance against Ohio State

Two things. 1) He wasn't wide open when Quinn started that throw. 2) Quinn got the team into the right play against the D ASU showed, which is why Golden broke open.

Wait?! What you mean Quinn threw a guy open? Impossible, there are experts on this very site  that just last week assured me he never throws anyone open?!

Isn't this now two games in a row when we learned that a QE check at the LOS ended up being great plays? Game winning plays?

I just don't understand how bad he is at deep throws.  That's the throw we've all been practicing since we were kids.  I've never seen any QB at any level that absolutely lacked the ability to throw the deep ball.  They usually struggle with other things.

I was shitting on Quinn in the 3rd and 4th but he stepped up when it was needed and gutted that shit out. The 4th and 13 pass was brilliant. I put the pick that was throw to Bond on Sark for not just running the damn ball. Don't complicate things and help Quinn manage the game. You didn't need a kill shot there.

Quinn accounted for every single TD we put on the board today.  He had a couple of bad throws (as every QB does in every game), overcame some questionable offensive play calling, a dogshit running game (come the fuck on guys) and with the entire season on the line threw darts to get it done.  Let's ride.

Well, every offensive TD.  Don't think Quinn was on the punt return

He had the key block for Silas Bolden on that punt return for sure

We saw yet another game where Quinn had moments of greatness and moments of wtf, combined with his offensive coordinator making it very difficult on him, with shit rushing plans/execution and strange play calling at times and a few great play calls. It’s dizzying and I can’t deal with it.

He is almost impressively bad at the deep ball. It's uncanny.

Golden makes the play on the fourth down touchdown. The safety came up and the cb slowed down when Golden slowed for a split second. They both thought Golden was going to cut the rout off for the first down and he just blew right by them.

I also believe that Wisner was not totally healthy. He didn't run nearly as hard as he has in the past. He wasn't breaking many tackles, just going down on contact.

Ewers 92 QBR for the game. And they don't even count things like audibling to max protect on 4th and 13.

l counted 4 mistakes from Ewers including two bad ones. But anyone who thinks he isn't a very good college QB doesn't know what they're looking at.

That jibes with how I was feeling. The bad throws were on him obviously, but this was more about Sark and Flood getting completely fucking panted on the headsets. Embarrassing.

Maybe Quinn should be our OC and fix whatever the fuck Sark is trying t do at times.

My thoughts as well. There were some what the fuck moments from him, particularly the deep int, but then that’s another example of his coach failing him.

ASU is known for guessing. They caught Texas quite a few times slanting into outside runs. I would like to see more pistol. Teams have been slanting away from the RB.

Guessing? All they did was watch film. I have been saying for weeks if not months we need to run more pistol. It was a huge factor against Clemson yet we rarely saw it. Unexplainably.

He under threw it, another few feet and it is a TD.

And it was like 45 yards down the field. Like a punt. Our 4th quarter defense was bad.

Then for the first time in your life, you weren’t entirely retarded. Quinn wasn’t culpable for much of the meltdown, if culpable at all.

Come on. After Charlie Strong, I can easily deal with this. We were shit on a shingle under Chuckles. Now we're a good team that has a few issues against Top 10 competition. The latter has hope, while the former did not.

So we're not Saban's Alabama. Who is? If we get cratered by Ohio St., at least we'll be in good company.

Honestly I kind of blame him for the safety.

Is this a joke?

Quinn was fucking money at the end.

I'm proud of you.

QE helped win the game despite idiotic play calls and an offensive line that couldn't  run block against an inferior opponent. I'm completely baffled about this offense.

Anyone else mention how we struggle when we can't run the ball? I think I might have mentioned it before.

Arch can’t throw blocks like that.

1 hour ago, Hate said:

Why didn't they ever try to run the ball straight downfield?

It’s maddening and ridiculous. It doesn’t work against any defense with quick DLinemen. It should have worked today with ease, but for whatever reason did not, and Sark has no schematic alternative.

He wasn’t today.

The constant underthrows on deep routes are partly a coaching issue at this point. It's like he's not even trying to make a correction.  It's like a pitcher that keeps missing high.  Miss low motherfucker.

Overthrows are markedly worse than underthrows. His historical miss has been an overthrown deep ball. His INT was not so much the fault of an underthrow but way too much air with Bond not locating the ball.

59 minutes ago, Valmy77 said:

At one point didn't he almost always overthrow it?

Absolutely.

You can name call all you want, Golden made that play by making the db's stop, they thought he was breaking off the rout for the first down. He blew right by them when they did.

Great. Nobody is saying he didn’t do his job on that play. Ewers also adjusted the play call to make it successful.

some semblance of a running game would be helpful to Ewers, eh?

Ewers: 20/30, 322 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT

Team: 30 carries, 53 rushing yards

That’s honestly money.  Yeah 4-5 of the INCs and the INT were WTF but his stat line and last 4 drives were money. Kid balled with no help from the run game.  Quinn bailed out Sark big time.

Not really this, but I wonder if Sark ever allows Quinn free rein to call plays that work for him other than audibles. OT, today, looked like Sark just said "fuck it" go do what you want, and Quinn did just that. Get rid of the play action, let him use that time to sit back and survey the field. If given enough time, Quinn will make the right choice and put the ball on the money.
