Not good chief....

1. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
2. Kevin Jennings, SMU
3. Cade Klubnik, Clemson
4. Will Howard, Ohio St
5. Riley Leonard, ND
6. Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
7. Drew Allar, Penn St
8. Nic Iamaleava, Tenn
9. Quinn Ewers, Texas
10. Maddux Madsen, Boise St
11. Sam Leavitt, Arizona St
12. Gunnar Stockton, Georgia

So Quinn is ranked in the bottom 4 if playoff QBs as a 3 year starter and 1.000 overall prospect alongside Gunnar Stockton(making his 1st start), Sam Leavitt(Redshirt Freshmen, 1st year starting), and Maddux Madsen(RS Sophomore, 1st year as full time starter)

I way Will Howard is 4 on that list. He is guaranteed to have a major fuckup at a critical moment

4 Drew Allar, Penn St
5 Sam Leavitt, Arizona St

*Carson Beck would be ranked 6th if healthy.

So by QBR Quinn and Nico are the two worst QBs outside of the guy making his first start.

Where would sheduer sanders be on this list?

Quinns PFF grade against the vaunted Georgia Defense, 87. Beck was in the 30s.

I think that is a little low but it does demonstrate the point: Quinn is only pretty good.

2,700 yards passing 25 TDs and 9 Ints on 352 attempts. That is fine. Decent. Top 30 QB in the country.

But compared to his ranking out of High School? Compared to his expectations for this year? Disappointing.

Quinn… has been struggling for weeks. He’s not playing well

True, been playing hurt most of the year too.

You know you can read that graph as a joke and not be a bigger pussy than Quinn, right? I think it's hilarious that it got posted on MBG. The whole post was a joke and you're worked up about it like Quinn is mounted on top of you sending your heels to Jesus.

If he had been David Ash coming out of high school, we’d all be content with his play, but also looking forward to the upgrade coming next year (and also probably pretty confused as to why it didn’t happen this year). Sucks for Quinn that those expectations were there….. but they were. We were thinking Trevor Lawrence and that didn’t exactly happen.

Story isn't fully written yet and the long-term view on Quinn will be based entirely on how this playoff concludes.

Lead us to a national championship, even with mediocre play? Gritty legend.
Beat Clemson and ASU and lose a heart-breaker in the semis? Thanks for your time, Quinn, and best of luck in the NFL or your new team when you transfer.
Flame out hard and lose in the First Round? Get out of town as fast as you can.

That was how it was before these guys were richer than the majority of the fans. It's not going to soften up anytime soon.

Buckle up, because we are likely to struggle vs Clemson.

ETA: it sure would be nice to have a battering ram to rely on at RB. Someone who could turn the 2 yd gain into 4.

Wisner is awesome in his own right, but Baxter is sorely missed.

1. Texas 49-17 vs. Florida. Score = 100.0 (QBR 90.0 +10 for win)

2. Texas 20-10 vs. Arkansas Score = 72.0 (QBR 62.0 +10 for win)

3. Texas 31-14 vs. Kentucky Score = 77.6 (QBR 67.6 +10 for win)

4. Texas 17-7 vs. Aggy Score = 89.1 (QBR 79.1 +10 for win)

5. Georgia 22-19 vs. Texas Score = 70.6 (QBR 70.6 -10 for team loss +10 for this game being the SEC championship)

Average = 81.9 --> KIND OF A PUSSY : "Quinn, we would have had a real shot this season if you didn't play like a pussy one too many times. Good luck in the NFL though bro."

This actually pretty accurately reflects my feelings right now.

I harbor no personal feelings of ill will to the guy, he is still our QB1, I want him to succeed now and in the future, wherever that takes him.

I do feel extremely disappointed on where he is, given the expectations we were sold on early in his career.

Unfortunately, I think that Longhorn fans will still be arguing about this in twenty years.

I've decided to extend this rating system into the playoff.

Here's what Quinn has done so far since I started this highly scientific rating system:

1. Texas 49-17 vs. Florida. Score = 100.0

2. Texas 20-10 vs. Arkansas Score = 72.0

3. Texas 31-14 vs. Kentucky Score = 77.6

4. Texas 17-7 vs. Aggy Score = 89.1

5. Georgia 22-19 vs. Texas Score = 70.6

Here is how the playoff games will factor into the rating going forward:

6. First Round Game vs. Clemson. Sum Ewers QBR +10 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

7. Quarterfinal Game vs. Arizona State. Sum Ewers QBR +20 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

8. Semifinal Game vs. Oregon, Ohio State or Tennessee. Sum Ewers QBR +30 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

9. Championship Game vs. Some Asshole. Sum Ewers QBR +60 for a team win -10 for a team loss.

Here is our scale again, unchanged:

0-65.0 : THE ULTIMATE PUSSY : Sorry Quinn, you are officially and forever a Huge Pussy

65-75 : PRETTY MUCH A PUSSY : Quinn, you had so much potential but you ended up playing like a Pussy for us. There might be hope for you in the future though.

75-85 : KIND OF A PUSSY : Quinn, we would have had a real shot this season if you didn't play like a pussy one too many times. Good luck in the NFL though bro.

85-95 : MOST LIKELY NOT A PUSSY : Quinn did enough to win, but could he have done more? (I admit if we end up here the argument will go on. I'll take my chances)

95-100 : DEFINITELY NOT A PUSSY : You can say what you want about Quinn Ewers, but he ain't no pussy.

100+ : DUDE IS A BOSS : It turns out you guys have just been haters the whole time. Potential Longhorn Legend.

Quinn is sitting not-so-pretty at an average of 81.9, which is KIND OF A PUSSY. Pretty much the worst he could end up after the playoffs is PRETTY MUCH A PUSSY, which would be a drop of one category.

He could easily get to MOST LIKELY NOT A PUSSY with a few wins and solid performances. To get to DEFINITELY NOT A PUSSY he would probably have to at least make the championship game and play well.

Crunching a few numbers DUDE IS A BOSS is pretty much only achievable if he wins the whole fucking thing and plays out of his mind the whole time.

So far Quinn is 1-3 in post season games.

Alamo Bowl vs Washington L
Big 12 Champ vs Oklahoma St W
CFP Semifinal vs Washington L
SEC Champ vs Georgia L

Sure, he is also 117 for 182 with 1497 yards 7 TDs and 3 INTs. That is a 64% completion rate with and average of 374 yards a game. Something tells me there may be an underlying issue resulting in the losses.

Out of those 4 games the one we won, we out rushed our opponent.

18 rushes for 51 yards-2.8 average=L

40 rushes for 198 yards-5.0 average=W

31 rushes for 102 yards - 3.3 average=L

23 rushes for 31 yards-1.1 average =L

Ash was a better football better than Quinn is turning out to be, Applewhite ruined him. Was starting to throw with anticipation and leading receivers, and he was a much better athlete than Quinn. Ash in this offense and we are much better in the RZ.

Quinn is who he is.  He is a game manager (ala Joe Flaaco) not a game Changer.  His game is good enough to win us most games, but against elite defenses he really needs a run game to keep the pressure off.  He is slow to read post snap (seems like the game speeds up on him instead of slows down) and if his first read isn't immediately available he often gets sacked against good D's.  He isn't terrible, and he isn't an elite QB that can make plays under adversity to win games.

Since wins is the most important thing(to some) rank the quarterbacks by career wins.

He has also, in the last two seasons, lead us to eleven win seasons, won a conference championship and played for another, and got us into the CFP.

Huh? You compared Quinn’s qbr and Beck’s qbr and said we lost despite better qb play from quinn compared to beck. The last play of the game for Beck was the last play of the first half. When he went out of the game, Texas was winning 6-3. Not sure what you’re confused by.

I guess you could argue the overtime handoff but, I mean…
