I will never get the Quinn hate. Dude has played basically 2.5 seasons and sits 3 or 4 on basically every QB stat there is in Texas history. Won at Bama, at Michigan, at Aggy.

And yes I am ready to move on to Arch next season

For the last fucking time, no one hates Quinn Ewers, there is a debate if he is holding this team back from achieving all the team's goals for this season. Some say yes, and some say no.

I think it's a bit of both. His ceiling is higher, but he has to get out of his head or whatever is holding him back to reach that potential to go on a run. Maybe beating Clemson opens him up. But if not, we'll be relying on our D once again. At least it's legit..

Another thing, we have small RB's, so running between the tackles will be difficult, but not impossible. Quinn needs to stop leaning on his first read and find the field. Too many open WR's and he's missing them.

You're also right- No one hates Quinn, they just get frustrated with his play, or lack thereof; I wish he would be a leader, but he is what he is.

Sark saying players around Ewers need to do a better job?!? Sark is @Thatguy??

Things I know: Our RBs could block much better. Nobody fears our RBs up the middle (well, maybe aggy). Receivers have dropped too many passes. Our fans have been quick to shit on Quinn, despite his overall personal success, being a huge part of getting Texas back to top of college football, and his physical limitations, which he has absolutely no control over.

Things I don’t know: The number of missed passes that are a result of incorrect routes. The order of progression on any given play. What Quinn can see compared to our sky cam view. Whether Helobious is capable of giving the quality handjobs necessary to save our DL next season.

I'm not remotely interested in digging through dozens and dozens of vitriolic posts in which you called Ewers a "pussy".  One need not say something explicitly for the message to be loud and clear.

Aaron Rodgers is a pussy and I don’t think that makes him a bad QB. He’s a bad QB now that he’s old.

Being critical of a very highly rated QB who is limiting this team isn’t hatred

A better question to ask yourself is why do you feel the need to continually insult (in a very childish way) of the key players of the team that you purportedly support?

This site has key partnerships with current athletes at UT, including football players. We sponsor athletes to appear at our tailgates. I have spent time with Quinn and encouraged him to visit our site, which I am very proud of.

I have no problem with you posting comments about how we can be better, but your mind-numbingly childish insults reflect poorly on you and the rest of us.

Please think about that before you post.  Thanks.

Nah he’s a pussy. This site and shaggy were built on foundation of being able to say what we want no matter if a player of the team or not. So long as we aren’t wishing harm to them, other posters, or etc.

Here’s an interesting stat.  Your Texas Longhorns led the SEC in rushing yards per attempt at 4.63.  There was a tie for 2nd best at 4.38.  Arkansas was 8th in the conference at 4.03.

These are in-conference, regular season games.

I didn’t drill down to see the conference impact but did note that of the top 10 QBs in terms of total yardage on the season there were 3 with negative yards rushing.  Beck, Nussmeier, Ewers.  Milroe for example had about an 800 yard net impact over us.  Dart was around 500.

So we led the conference in in-conference rushing yards per attempt even considering our QB run game was not a positive reflector of the run game like it was for others.

My point is not to advocate one QB over another.  The point is that relatively speaking our run game has been quite reliable and the run blocking reasonably good.  No doubt it can be better.

Criticism comes with being a paid player. If he goes to the NFL, the fans are not going to be kind when he has a bad game. I don't see the need to be too emotionally vested in a player who gets paid millions to lead our team and likely will transfer somewhere else next year. If you have a personal connection to him, better to keep it private, I would think.

Quinn to UNC. I can see it happening. Some people in here were comparing him to Brady so now’s their chance to see him in action with Bill.

Please quote who exactly compared Quinn to Tom Brady. I'm here to defend Quinn against bad opinions but this my be the dumbest post of the year if you are serious. Even an exaggeration as such is retarded.

Just because imma runs an NIL doesn’t change that these are random anonymous posts on the internet. The spotlight and the $ come with certain negatives. It’s been this way since the beginning of paid athletes. Get over it

I don’t know about vile criticism, but these are semi-pro athletes making millions of dollars to play a sport. It comes with the territory, just like it does for practically every pro athlete. I’m not sure why they should be immune to some degree of criticism when they underperform?

Our offense has been a shitshow and outscored (one tie) by our opponents in the second half for six straight games and some of you are offended by the criticism of the QB. Bizarre!

Edit: 6 straight, not 7, as I incorrectly mentioned at first.

Getting to spend really great time with the Longhorn athletes at the tailgates and the dinners because of Surly Horns is a pretty awesome thing for a lot of us. This is much more than just a message board.

Yes, people have the right to share (mostly) anything here, though some have been banned occasionally for crossing lines. For me, constantly insulting our current players with childish insults (and I really hope BurntOrangeandWhite is 12 years old) is a poor reflection on all of us, especially those who have helped grow this into a fantastic platform.

I am discussing the big difference between legitimate, entertaining criticism of our players and continually insulting our key players with childish insults.

Once again, perhaps this time with more clarity.  Criticism is fine.  Over-the-top and insulting criticism isn't necessary, PARTICULARLY when players are involved with this website.

Grow the fuck up.

Arkansas and Kentucky were ties in the second half and the team ended the games with obvious scoring chances but ran the ball out. Including a Florida game that wasn’t even close is embarrassing. Hell we outscored Georgia in the second half of our first game.

I think this is what people are missing, it's not about saying Quinn isn't a good player or made a bad throw or decision. Its the overall negative sentiment of quinn the person not quinn the player that starts to blur the lines of what's acceptable for pages and pages of it.

There's a difference in the Gandalfish posts which are clearly a meme and just braindead shit talking with no context.

As a qb QE is what he is, but he's represented himself and the University fairly well. I know he hasn't gotten so drunk that he no showed the Manning passing academy or went to Vegas to do blow during a bye week.

Ask yourself this:  while recruiting doesn't seem to be an issue for Sark, do you think he appreciates the shit on this thread and others when he's trying to convince the next Arch, Ant, Kaliq etc. to sign?  Do you think they don't see it?

I'm not saying other fan sites don't have similar issues (SEC cough cough) but come on, is it that hard to just keep the criticism less extreme and less insulting?
