Where did I say I wasn't happy we won? People love to conflate being dissatisfied with an aspect of the game with being dissatisfied with the outcome of the game. Too bad it doesn't work that way.

Has Ewers ever played a full game as sharply against a good defense as Klubnik is playing us? Serious question.

lol, if Quinn had thrown the ball backwards like Cade did, the sniveling little pussies on this thread would have offed themselves

You're welcome to comb through all of them if you want, but you aren't going to find a single one. I avoid those things like the plague.

Quinn was good today. I don't really have any complaints.

The Sark/Ewers dynamic is interesting. Sark seems frustrated that people are critical of Quinn and his limitations, but he runs plays like a guy who's also critical of those limitations. His insistence to run misdirection to get the first read open (or simply to have a one read play) is a dangerous game to play when the competition is legit. I think back to that awful, slow developing call in UGA territory that was basically a double fake pass that was a one read throw to Helm but he was covered. This shit is not gonna work moving forward this season.

Keep Quinn's eyes and body forward, quick slants, some classic PA, and let it fly in 1-on-1 coverage.

I hope there isn’t. I don’t see who on our side of the bracket should be able to stop our run game. It’s just the negative plays at this point that we can’t have.

Apologies. Your post reeked of vaginitis so I just assumed.

Sark believes you have to have a balanced running attack to open up the passing game. Clemson's run game was awful (76 yards total tonight) yet Cade played a very good game. Quinn played "fine", and Texas rushed for 292 yards.

My bad, you posting that bitchy post right after a win in which Quinn played pretty well confused me

Yeah Quinn played well today though. He scrambled a bit and was throwing nice balls to draw those PI calls and hit a few too.

All around solid performance

also no turnovers (that were his fault)

We’ve just got to be better coming out of halftime. 5 straight games without a 3rd quarter touchdown. Quinn was 6/10 for 61 yards in the second half after a good first half. It just never feels like the offense can consistently move the ball through the air in its current state. Maybe a healthy Bond changes things, but I don’t know. We will need to run the ball extremely well in every game going forward to win.

Maybe losing 2 starting offensive linemen and a starting running back had a little bit to do with that today

Well, our O-line was being held together by sealing wax and duct tape, so maybe lower your expecations?

Second half is clearly the issue. And I don't think that's purely a Quinn issue. It's much more likely a Sark issue. He needs to give up game day play calling for us to reach our potential. That's not happening this year, if ever.

Dumb sack when he had all day to throw away and the pass behind Golden. That’s about it that I have to complain about. Solid game. We run like that we are going to be dangerous. I’ll say the Arch package felt forced today.

I agree. I sent this text to a low to low-intermediate football fan. Yes a girl.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but our playbook has been very simplified since that first loss to Georgia. Head coaches simplify playbooks when they lose confidence in their quarterback. It’s simplified in order to statistically limit errors by the quarterback. That’s what all the short to the corner passes are. High percentage completions that give the struggling quarterback confidence, but gets only minimal gain.

I remember early in season we were throwing deeper. We had a lot more explosive plays (plays that go for 25 yards or more). We don’t have many of those. anymore.

Sark has lost confidence in Ewers, hence the few times he lets him throw an intermediate route, the idiot throws an interception. So back to the bubble screens. Rely fully on running game.

It’s all very frustrating. We’ll get close this year but won’t win it all. Next year should be our greatest shot

Notice the “should”.

But it is going to get worse. Because as I’ve mentioned 3 million times, Ewers is going to come back next year. But the death knell is that Sark is going to throw all his support to this kid.

And as I write this he throws a shit ball.

Sure, but that doesn’t explain Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. Our offense stepping on rakes in the second halves of games is a theme at this point.

Very very true. But that doesn't explain the 2nd half doldrums that have been there for most of the year. It's much more than a 1 game issue.

LOL wut?  Jesus, dude.  This was not only our best win in terms of the quality of opponent, we played keep away.  Do you watch our games?  Do you not understand that Sark tends to want to slow things down in the second half given a decent lead?

It always does because we are so stupid with it. If we are just going to run the wildcat then put a running back to take the snap.

Why? Because you say so and you have more internet points than me? I don't give two shits.

Ewers played "fine", which has emerged as his ceiling. It was good enough today and it'll almost certainly be good enough against ASU. We will need more than "fine" to win the semi-final game, regardless of the opponent. Hopefully we get it, but he's struggled to exceed "fine" for much of the year after returning from injury.

No, because only an idiot would have an issue with a QB who made one mistake all game that was still a catchable pass. You can try to deflect with "internet points" references but try not being a dipshit and explain what specific issues you have with his play. In reality you're the one trying to get internet points because the easiest thing to do is bitch about the starting QB.

You're taking an output (slow 2nd halves) and then building a false narrative that Sark is intentionally managing the inputs such that he's getting the output he wants. I fucking promise you he's not. There is not an offensive minded coach on the planet that loves seeing his offense bog down and allow teams to get back in games in the 2nd half.

DGAF if already posted - Sark said on the post game interview with Craig Way that Quinn checked into the runs for both of Blue’s TD runs. That’s why he’s the starter.

Almost all of his usual issues were on display and all of those have been beaten to death on this thread already. There was some good and some bad. The good outweighed the bad. But there was more than one mistake, and that's just you being hyperbolic in an attempt to avoid having any sort of nuanced conversation on the topic. Likely because everyone here is pretty much done with re-hashing what he does well and what he doesn't.

This is what drives me crazy.  Say what you want about Sark's offense, it's his, and it's pretty clear that Quinn has mastered it more than Arch has.  Fans see what happens on the field, but they don't know they calls, they don't know the audibles, they don't know the off-schedule plays, they don't know what is simplified for the younger guy.

I'm not a "you're not the coach" guy, but for fuck's sake, we KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that Sark is an elite OC and playcaller.  I'm going with his opinion over all the idiot surly Archies.

We expected it, but the results are questionable, honestly. And probably not the best post-game to boast about his playcalling. The reality is our offense has been the wink link for most of the season.
