We aren't Alabama. There aren't 5 stars everywhere. The only 5 stars are the QB, a receiver that has been largely a disappointment to this point, and a couple linemen. Bama was better than you at every single position on both sides of the ball.

That Alabama was also dominant compared to any team. Nobody was close to them. Unlike, this year no one is that dominant anymore.

I’m convinced he’s just been hurt all year. That’s really the most likely explanation. The abdominal early in season bothered him after coming back probably sooner than he should have. Then, that’s probably about fully healed and he sprains his ankle badly vs Kentucky. Mix in some between-the-ears shit as NFL guys are concerned about his injury history and he’s falling out of the first round of the Draft. For somebody who has been building to be drafted highly since he was a sophomore in HS, I wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t playing a part in this.

Though Klubnik outplayed him ultimately at QB, I think Ewers looked pretty good on Saturday. Of course it helps when Blue and Wisner are running all over Clemson. I can quibble with a few throws but overall, I think he was good. He had a big scramble that extended a crucial TD drive and that was great to see. I’ve come to grips with the fact that we aren’t likely to see any jaw-dropping play from him the rest of the way because of the health thing. If we can beat ASU, the next round will tell the tale on Ewers.

And the Manning stuff has to wear on him

100% -- missed mentioning that in my post. I get the buzz when Arch comes in but it's gotten cringey at this point. He's coming in to either hand the ball off or try and power for a first down. This isn't him coming in to spell a clearly-struggling Ewers in Georgia 1 -- that was kind of a "wow" moment. This is not and if I'm Ewers, I might mutter "motherfucker" every time he comes on to 100K+ screeches after I've just marched the team 60+ yards down the field.

You're just too serious and clearly don't pick up on small nuance.

But I do love you man. You're sexy and bring a lot of value in your posts.

Merry Christmas and congrats on being the first person to ever call me too serious, feels good.

Yes and I don’t think it’s fair to either of them. Just like the major/Chris situation.  But what if, Arch is a decent teammate

Are you getting those stats from NCAA.com? Because they are only showing the bowl game stats.

Yeah, I think you're right.  I mentioned it was borked the other day and then just went and ignored the borkedness.  My bad.

I actually fully agree in this regard. My thoughts on Sark's lack of using Arch aside, the cheering for Arch by fans is, as you said, cringey. I'd go past cringey and say annoying.

I would hope that it doesn't negatively impact Quinn, but it's entirely possible.

You know it is. Hell, we get tired of hearing it from outside media and people just stirring up clicks. I think he’s came back from injury early and played through some stuff he normally wouldn’t, because if he missed 4 or 5 games, he may have been afraid he wouldn’t be the starter coming back.

Yep. First off, I love Sark and want him here a long time. But I think he's doing both of them a disservice with the way he uses Arch's abilities. It's almost like he's using Arch a few times just to shut up the fans clamoring for him to come on. Otherwise, I think he'd be doing different things with Arch out of that package, kind of like Urban did with Tebow. Maybe it's coming but it's getting awful late in the season for it.

At this point, I agree.  Put Arch back in the box unless there is an injury or code red situation. Doubt we need him for ASU, and assuming we win, we want fully confident Quinn for the OSU or Oregon matchup.

Yeah, his use of Arch is frustrating at best. I mean, I just can’t see him doing it just to appease fans, hell it generates more controversy and frustration than if he just kept him on the bench.

Sark is very hard headed and if he was going to use Arch in more ways I truly believe that the SEC championship game would have been time. I can't see saving it for say, Oregon/OSU or hopefully ND/Georgia3, when I think it would potentially be needed. Sark's ego or hard headed approach is truly my biggest concern about him, but I'll leave further discussion of that topic for the Sark thread.

Sit Arch or actually use him or in other parlance "Shit or get off the pot".

I’m “pro Arch” or whatever.  I’m pro Quinn as well.  But  a cheer for Arch isn’t a neg on Quinn.

I don't see it as a neg on Quinn, I just find it annoying. Then again I was pro-James Brown and started a chant "Free James Brown" in the stadium way back when, so I'm also a hypocrite of the highest order. Not to be confused with my membership in the Order of Quinn's White Knights.

I actually would prefer he have Arch play in each game but leave him in for more snaps. Just having him come in for a single snap I think is counterproductive. More snaps gives him an opportunity to get in rhythm and keeps him "warm" for the playoffs in the event he has to actually take the reigns due to an Ewers injury. Delicate balance to strike though. Enough snaps to be productive for Arch, but not so many you take Ewers out of rhythm either. But Sark may feel coming in for a single snap during the red zone is enough for that. Other thought is, Sark absolutely hates revealing too much film to opponents. He may have scripts and packages for Arch he doesn't want seen until it becomes necessary to uncork them.

I think Sark is using Arch to set up other options for Quinn down the road. Everytime he trots Arch out there reinforces in peoples' minds that "Quinn isn't a running threat. If they want to run, then UT will put in Arch."

Like someone said in another thread, tendencies can work for you when you know when to break them.
