It's got to be better than any Transformers or Fast & Furious spinoff movie right..? So that's a plus in my book...

True but you could do what I do, skip all those shit movies, stay home and watch reruns of Alice

I work on a Navy base in San Diego, and they were filming crazy low altitude take offs over the harbor last week. Super bad ass. Also, spoiler alert, I can confirm with certainty that there will be a motorcycle ride alongside an active runway.

In.

El Rey channel on weekday mornings: 2 hours of The Incredible Hulk, 2 hours of The A-Team, 2 hours of Quantum Leap.

When I work from home, my morning TV watching is set.

I think that's the Air Force version. Red Flag.

AF has it at Henderson outside LV; USN has it at Fallon outside Reno.

I imagine they are in San Diego again.  Watching Mav and Iceman pick-up middle aged divorcees in a shady Reno casino bar probably has less appeal than doing it in San Diego.

Well we know he was in Nam on the Oriskany, but in 1986 that could really just be getting him around "normal" retirement time, depending on when he was there and all that (65-73 is when wiki says Oriskany was there).

Mav is (I think), pushing the mandatory retirement time for an O-6, although he could have gotten out for a while and flown for an airline like Iceman did. NBC made a short "Where are they now" type documentary that showed what LT Kasansky had been up to after getting out of the Navy the first time.

If they were smart, they’d make the exact same movie but tom cruise is viper, Kilmer is jester, and some pretty boy like Channing Tatum is maverick.

And instead of tomcats they fly F-35 shitbirds?

Yep.  Miramar closed as a Navy base and was handed over to the USMC.  Was NAS Miramar, now MCAS Miramar.

This shit was being shot at North Island (Coronado Island) San Diego.   Let's face it...Naval  Aviation is sexier when there's ocean involved.

I could actually see Channing Tatum making a fun movie out of it. Throw in Aubrey Plaza in there somewhere and make it a fun summer movie. Preferably one where she gets naked
