I've so wanted to see him on this tour. I was still in high school when the Pixies split up originally. I saw Frank Black solo probably 8 times from '93 to '01. For most of those shows, it was strictly solo stuff. He finally started to play some Pixies songs in some of those sets. At last saw Pixies at ACL in'03 or whenever and have seen them several times since. In recent years, I've missed seeing the Frank Black solo stuff. I may yet do what I gotta do and make a trip to catch one of these dates. Doesn't look like they're adding anything else and it's not coming anywhere near Texas.

This is my Pixies experience as well. Really wish Frank would take this tour through Texas. I’d pretty much drive wherever to see him.

Holy shit -- Wilco going on tour this spring with Waxahatchee. Playing 5/4 in Houston (White Oak Music Lawn), 5/6 in SA (The Espee) and 5/7 in Irving (Toyota Music Factory).

Presale code for these shows is "HOTSUN" and it's going on right now. I just bought 6th row tickets for Irving.

This week I also got tix for Japanese Breakfast and Al DiMeola.

I’ll probably get tickets for that new Zep movie too.

Almost pulled the trigger on this for Waxahatchee alone. Saw Wilco back the day after Tom Perry passed. Tweedy played a tribute towards then end of the show. Not a huge Wilco fan so am still on the fence. Will see what prices look like closer to the date. When I checked the closest seats were like row T.

They're only getting older, but still fun to see.  They usually come through either once a year or every other year.

Saw Death From Above 1979 last night in Portland. Awesome show! The music was tight but they were loose, relaxed, and fun.

Opener was a band out of SF called Spiritual Cramp. They had a couple of decent songs but overall- meh.f9e878f2e20946fc6513bcbc978f3ec3.jpg

Oddly enough, at one point in the mid-90s, I knew 2 out of 4 of NIN's touring members. Went to high school with Rob Finck, who played the solo from Maiden's "Wasted Years" behind his back at the school talent show.  Danny Lohner lived on the 9th floor of Jester West, and I was on the 10th floor in 1989-90.  He was finishing up Angkor Wat and starting up Skrew with Adam Grossman.  Hung out with those guys quite a bit.

I heard some recent Kim Gordon song on (I think) KUTX a month or so ago.  More of an electronic vibe than Sonic Youth.  I'd pay to see it.  I'd also pay to see DinoJr (again).  Decisions.

Well, this is exciting. I've seen Jenny Lewis several times but never Rilo Kiley.

Saw them on the Under The Blacklight tour, but super excited that they’re going to do more shows. It’s crazy that that was 17 years ago. Getting old. More Adventurous and Execution of All Things are some of my favorite albums of that era.

I missed The Postal Service and Jenny Lewis shows last year for health reasons, which I was pissed about. I’m not missing this one.

I was just coming here to see if anyone had a code. Anything for tomorrow’s LiveNation presale?

I assume the artist presale is out already.

You had to register in advance for the presale code, and then they texted it 30 minutes before tix went on sale. The codes were all unique - not sure if LiveNation will be the same. I haven't seen any info on that. You could still try getting an artist presale code now.

No drugs necessary -- if you like the music beforehand. It's just high-energy every night.

I got freebies to their last ACL taping.  I didn't know anything about the band.  I came away thinking "well, I don't need to buy any of their music".  That said, a whole bunch of people were having a really great time, so I ain't judging.

I go the code two days ago and then none of the pages let me even get to a place where I can enter a code to get in.  Weird.

I was going to buy tickets to COIN... was really looking forward to seeing them live.

Fuck. It’s going to cost me a arm and a leg to get good seats on the secondary market..  Last time they were in Austin ten years ago or so I just walked up to the COTA ticket booth and a group of guys were like you need a ticket?  Their friend backed out and they gave me his ticket for pre sale cost, three something for fifth row.  It was awesome!

it has to be bots buying all these tickets. there's no way a 20,000 capacity arena is selling out this fast. i've never had trouble getting nin tickets before.

Just got NIN tickets for Fort Worth.

Was skeptical about this ticket master waiting room and queue, flashbacks from previous bad experiences.  Worked well.  Seems they have a handle on scalpers sucking up all the good shit.  For now at least.

100% bots ran by Ticketmaster.

I was able to buy NIN at Red Rocks in '22 later the same day for both dates and that was when they actually did big in-person presales to prevent scalpers.  So, now a venue 2X the size is legitimately selling out in 20 minutes. Riiigggghhhttt.
