I've been looking forward to this show for a year and he's now a Colordadoan, where he performed this show last in 2016: https://open.spotify.com/album/6fXCZozPfQBH8nrpZjaY6W?si=ITjSgAvfT_aS41sMGmTRfA

how was this show? that album is one of my favorite live albums by anyone.

Pretty amazing, someone has posted a front-and-center view of most of the set list on Youtube. It's all over people's Instagram reels now, but he played, "Sweet Heat Lightning" near the end of the show when thunderstorms were popping up in Boulder and eastward. Those flashes from a distance added to the show and it was a perfect night to be out at Red Rocks.

nice, looks like he did "liars" as well. Would have flown up there just for that.

Went to Levitation Fest last night at Far Our Lounge. It was good to hear* Gibby Haynes joined by King Coffey and Paul Leary -- essentially, The Butthole Surfers.

*I say "hear" because their stage setup sucked all kinds of ass. The venue slopes down to the main stage, which isn't very tall, and so the back half of the crowd can basically watch the rig lights. Oh, the mix was weak and ineffectual, too. No excuses. Radio/East would have been much better, they should have never changed venues.

It sucks for the fans and the artists when the venue has a bad setup and the sound is bad.

Waaaaaay up high on my Best Places on Earth list, especially tonight with Stephen Wilson Jr opening for Brandi Carlile.

was in portland last week and saw pallbearer at polaris hall. played all of their album foundations of burden. it's an album that features four 10+ minute songs. i enjoyed parts of it thoroughly but also thought the perfomance dragged a bit during the long songs. the venue itself was great. cool old building with really good sound. stage was on the 2nd level and you could feel the floor bouncing and vibrating through the performance...much like the old parish.

I’m in that picture, seats were middle rows which was perfect. The sound quality was remarkable

Sounds like The Cars. Insanely great songs, and great players. LIve? "Eh".

1984 Reunion Arena, Heartbeat City tour.

"Hello Dallas"

play whatever 16 or 18 songs were on the set while never moving from your mic, EXACTLY like the record.

"Thank you, Goodnight"

Glad I could say I saw them but Van Halen 1984 Tour they were not...

I'll finally get to see Die Spitz on Sunday at the beach festival in Asbury Park. Lucky scheduling as they lead into Fontaines DC which is the reason I got tickets. Rain in forecast right now but we'll be ready.

Also Friday in Philly is Bikini Kill, which is a must see having read the Kathleen Hanna autobiography recently (Die Spitz and all female musicians should really read it too)

#6765

I went to Levitation festival Sunday at Far Out. I was mostly there to finally see Uncle Acid and they did not disappoint. What a great and unique band, Kevin Starrs really impressed me with his solos and vocals. I really dig the psychedelic horror thing they do.

No but just the other side of the beach. We got VIP so will have a good spot for both. Die Spitz stage leads into Kim Gordon and Pixies.

Saw Tame Impala tonight at the AAC in Dallas. Been a fan for many years, but my first time seeing them in person.

Holy crap - even if you are just a marginal fan, try to catch their show in Houston this weekend. The combination of the musicianship and the insane light show was unlike anything I’ve seen.

considered seeing pond on wednesday but didn't have the energy. i saw kevin parker sat in with them for a song.

Back in February, I got tickets to see Alison Krauss and Union Station for a show in Austin this week. Last week, she cancelled the remaining 17 shows on this tour. Doctors told her she needed to rest her voice. I'm disappointed, but I'm highly supportive of anything that keeps that angelic voice going.

Saw Sammy Hagar tonight at Dolby Live and the Eagles last night at the Sphere in Vegas. Eagles were good, but Sammy Hagar….holy shit. Unbelievable show. My ears are gonna be fucked for days if not weeks.

On a whim, and a poke from a buddy, went to see Pond at The Studio at The Bomb Factory on Friday night. Hard to explain the exact progression but these guys have all played together in and around Tame Impala. At any rate, it was a mess of a show but still a lot of fun. Walking by the tour buses on the street, you could practically see the weed smoke coming out all the cracks. Been a bit before I saw a band that was that obviously stoned on stage during a set. This was apparently the end of a lengthy time out on the road and they're ready to go home. Only played 13 songs but they hit on one I really liked from my first listens earlier in the day. A few of them were just terrible but some were pretty fantastic.

#6778

had an industrial night on friday and saw pig and stabbing westward at mohawk. place was very empty, which was nice. my expectations were not very high but both were surprisingly good. i did keep thinking how much better they would have sounded if they had a bass player instead of relying on synths. both bands took it very seriously and performed their asses off. good show.

#6779

tricky at a sold out mohawk. 25 years ago i was supposed to see tricky open for tool on the lateralus tour at the woodlands. the concert was october 2001 and security getting into the venue was outrageous after 9/11 and we missed all of tricky. finally got to see him last night. the band was backlit with blue lights the entire show, mostly in shadows. i couldn't see the rhythm section at all. up front were 2 vocalists and tricky. the band was really good and the 2 vocalists were excellent. tricky danced around a lot with his back to the audience and occasionally added almost imperceptible background vocals. on the few occasions when he took lead vocal he was almost whispering into the mic...often grabbing 2 mics and singing into both of them. the set was heavy on material from the new album, and then some older stuff from maxinquaye. my biggest gripe is that it wasn't nearly loud enough. 99% of the time i wear earplugs at concerts but they were not needed for this one. it was a pretty chill set and the people talking were bad. had to move around a couple of times before i found a place where people weren't talking over the music. glad i finally got to mark tricky off my list, enjoyable show.

#6780

weird al at the moody center last night. they sold a lot of $25 upper deck tickets, it was more full in the upper sections than the lower bowl. hands down the most obese fan base i've ever seen. it was everything you might imagine a weird al concert would be, with far too many video interludes. parts of it were good, parts of it were terrible. glad i checked it out but it wasn't great.

I've got Vegas code and sale is 5PM Pacific today. so your sale was not date specific and it let you choose the date? were there a good amount of tickets available in all sections?

#6784

I forget about this thread.

Caught The Beths the other day. An all request show - it was super fun and unique in how they did the requests.

Seeing Isbell Sunday night. Well, if the nor’easter gets out of here in time (it’s outdoors and will be in the 50s).

Yeah. It let me choose one of three dates.

Availability was reasonably good in each section. Not plentiful but you have options.

man, those ticket prices are kinda insane. $550 for front standing and any good seated seat was $510 and most real good seated were gone to Raiders ticket holders. I was going to do Tuesday 8/24. I'm a fan but not that big a fan. I think I'm going to wait since Tuesday might have lower demand.

For huge fans I'm sure 500.00 is worth it. Have a great time.

I’ll spend way more than $500 ($1000 for 2 tix) just on travel. I had so much fun at the chicago and LA shows last year, I’m all

built to spill at central machine works last friday. still a trio...definitely prefer when they have an additional guitarist but this lineup is still really good. hurt a fly, broken chairs, and carry the zero. hell yes. carry the zero is still one of my favorite songs ever.

Anyone else attend the Iron Maiden concert at the Alamodome with Anthrax and Megadeth as openers?

Great show BTW. Anthrax had to pull in a replacement drummer at last minute, so reduced set list. Megadeth announced their retirement! Iron Maiden was epic! Bruce Dickinson still has his fast ball!

#6793

So Garth is doing three shows in Tulsa later this month and all ticket prices are locked in at $154. Tickets went on sale at 10 am today, so I logged in at 9:45 and got in the waiting room. Right at 10 am it put me directly into seat selection with no wait in the queue. I was in complete shock. Snagged 2 on the 3rd row in the center floor. Still can't believe it. 2 tix on the 3rd row for $334 after taxes.

Rush at Toyota Center last night in Houston. It was excellent. And loud.

They did something last night they haven’t done yet this tour. Most nights the second set starts with either all of 2112 or all of Moving Pictures.

Last night they played all of 2112, which is epic. And then they did all of Moving Pictures, but with Tom Sawyer last.

Fifth show for me on this tour.

Hoping for a Sphere residency.

It's not until May but I'm taking my two daughters to their first rock concert. Seeing The Warning. Unfortunately I have to go to Oklahoma City for it.

Houston, San Antonio and OKC were the closest shows to me and OKC was on a date that worked.

Had to get reserved seats in a balcony as my daughters are too short to see anything from the floor.

Damien Jurado tonight at 29th Street Ballroom. Probably my favorite setlist I’ve seen him play and I’ve been seeing him for 20ish years. That venue always has good and quiet crowds, which is great.

A crowd that doesn’t talk the whole time anymore is a rarity.

the whole show is general admission and i saw that he set aside a certain number of tickets for $20 for students. don't know how many but it looks like it could be any age, just need a student ID.

i love him lol 😊
