Maalik Murphy single handedly unfucks Dukes football program.

Duke receivers couldn’t catch anything for the third/early forth quarter, then Malik and the offense gets going and Manny pulls them them off the field to kick for the tie, and of course the kick goes wide. It was obvious to keep them on the field and go for the win there. Northwestern gives the ball right back and here we go again.

Yeah, that was an ugly game. It was nice to see him perform well at the end though. Two touchdowns in three plays during overtime.

He’s young and he’s got plenty of time to improve.

Username definitely checks out.

He’s not really young.  He’ll be 21 in a few months and he’s been in a college football program for almost 3 years.

News. I have some for you. Twenty is young. Maybe you're 12 and living in your grandma's basement, but for the rest of us, 20 is young.

Besides that, it's gonna be a few weeks before he gets to double digits worth of games started.

Nobody is saying he's a great QB... but in many ways, he's one of us.

Here's to hoping he embarrases Mack.

This. It would be even better than having Sark kick Mack's wrinkled ass, to have a QB who wasn't quite good enough for Texas lead Duke over the Tarheels - and stay unbeaten while he's at it.

Would this mean that Mack did Diaz wrong, too?

Mack's problems were beyond abundant but the failures of Diaz were his own doing and painfully obvious.

I am in no way saying Diaz doesn't bear responsibility. But Akina's mutiny or the disconnect between the two was not Diaz's fault. That falls squarely on lazy Mack. And it had a good bit to do with the defense falling apart.

Mack is a meddler. He only allows coaches to do what he wants them to do. If the buck stops with the HC, that is fine, but Mack was great at acting like he had nothing to do with anything when it failed. The horrible post-Mack years were a direct result of the horrible late Mack years.
