Texas Athletics hasn't banned these after David Hamilton tore his Achilles on one?

I made a mistake and listened to FCBs podcast.   If you hate him now have a listen.   Apparently UTSA is the second coming of Georgia and Alabama combined.  Damn FCB is fucking idiot.  I just want to poke myself in ears with a stick.  I’m now dumber for having listened to that.

You were clearly a dumbass to start with if you willingly chose to listen to FCB. Getting dumber won’t change much.

seems like his uncle rico "i never got to play" moment.  Dude probably could have played the entire UTSA game, but scooters...

FCB (tell our athletes in all sports to quit riding scooters)

— Hudson Card participated in practice on Tuesday, but was very limited with his high ankle sprain. Live reps continued to go to Texas No. 3 quarterback redshirt freshman Charles Wright.

Card is telling teammates he plans to play Saturday against UTSA, but coaches are waiting until Thursday to see how Card is feeling and moving on the ankle before making any decisions on a starting quarterback for Saturday’s game.

The staff wants Card to be as healthy as possible for Texas’ Big 12 season opener at Texas Tech on Sept. 24 and/or home game against West Virginia on Oct. 1 while Quinn Ewers continues to recover from a sternoclavicular sprain.

The target date for Ewers’ return is the Oklahoma game on Oct. 8 (with an outside chance of playing against West Virginia on Oct. 1).

— When Steve Sarkisian said freshman quarterback Maalik Murphy is not healthy, it’s because Murphy suffered a wrist injury in a scooter accident recently, team sources told Horns247.

Texas coaches were planning on redshirting Murphy this season, and the wrist injury has certainly helped contribute to those plans.

If Murphy was healthy, he’d be competing with Charles Wright to be the team’s No. 3 quarterback. With Murphy’s injury, Wright is the No. 3 quarterback with walk-ons Ben Ballard and Cole Lourd vying for the fourth spot on the QB depth chart.

Murphy enrolled in January but was sidelined during spring football while recovering from surgery to repair a broken ankle suffered in his high school state championship game in California in December.

— There’s a good chance fifth-year senior cornerback D'Shawn Jamison will be held out of Saturday’s game against UTSA with his left ankle injury.

Jamier Johnson replaced Jamison in the Alabama game and held up well. So did true freshman Austin Jordan, who has been backing up Ryan Watts at the boundary cornerback position.

Jordan replaced Watts for about 15 plays in the Alabama game and made a nice play on a screen pass, combining with nickel Jahdae Barron for a 4-yard tackle for loss on Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs.

“Ryan Watts has to come out and Austin Jordan’s in the game for about 15 plays as a true freshman,” coach Steve Sarkisian said. “I don't know if he thought going into that game he was going to play 15 snaps, but he went in there, and he played well and tackled well. That's the importance of it, because you never know when your number is going to get called.”

I haaaaate those fucking scooters

Probably one of those Uber or Lyft rentals downtown. Hard to ban those or dumbassery for renting one.

QB2 controversy after Wright tears it up on Saturday

Funny I was thinking of the Richard Walton / Applewhite swap but, yeah, Ewers is on a different level.  Still, go Wright.  Maybe he becomes the new QB2

The season:

Ewers has 2 TD's, 1 int.,359 yards,69.4% on 36 attempts, 1 over 40, 1 sack

Card has 0 TD's, 0 int, 182 yards, 66.7% on 27 attempts, 1 over 40, 5 sacks 1/2 game injured

One played a patsy, and one played #1 on a bum leg. If Card were to win out through the RRS, it's his rock.

Ian Boyd, is that you?

We scored 70 on Tech with fucking Casey Thompson last year. We’re 21-9 in Lubbock and have won 6 straight there. Fuck that place.

We have won 6 straight in Lubbock but the last three trips have been anything but comfortable.

2016 - Last second INT to avoid overtime.

2018 - Game winning TD with 21 Seconds left after blowing a 17 point lead.

2020 - Won in overtime after rallying from 15 points down with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

The big difference this year is that Sark is the head coach and not Herman or Strong, but Tech is no slouch at home. Even with a QB that likes to turn the ball over.

This is exactly what will be happening.

UTSA - Wright
TT - Card or Wright
WV - Card (maybe Ewers makes an appearance)
OU - Ewers

UTSA: Wright, with a limited Card ready to come into a close game, RoJo with a slightly expanded wildcat package, and Lourd being ready with 6-10 plays.  Ideally Wright shows well and the game is never in serious doubt.

TT: Card, with Wright as the backup and RoJo with a slightly expanded wildcat package.

WV: Card, with Wright as the backup and (hopefully) Ewers looking pretty good and able to get some practice reps as the emergency #3.

OU forward: Ewers with Card as the backup and Wright as the #3.

Same reason I love him. Genuine human being who wants to maximize the limited talents of his roster to win football games.

I know it's lame and cliched, but all that matters this week is how we play. If the offensive/defensive lines keep progressing and the defense stays disciplined, we will win. And maybe win easily. I expect the crowd/atmosphere to be pretty damn good after last week.

This is not a trap game. We are 6-8 under Sark so far. We lost last week. Every talking ahead is mentioning an upset alert. It feels like the team is anxious to get out there and fuck shit up.

That’s a great point. A trap game implies you are overlooking your next opponent because you are worried about another team the week after. This team should be taking every game seriously. No opponent should be taken for granted.

Because he was the only good hire Strong made and he has done great for UTSA. It is OK to like him as long as he is not playing our beloved Longhorns. This week it is like McEnroe with his friend. McEnroe did not talk to the friend when he was about to play him and he made sure that the brace his friend needed during matches was lost before the match.

I think this guy has committed four holding penalties through two games, although it's tough to confirm the Army game since the full game highlights aren't uploaded as far as I can tell

Those grades are - not good.

Because he was nice to them and probably acted as a source for some of them. Plus, he was the best coach on Strong's staff, so I can see the reasons for the affinity.

#64, who replaced their starting RT after he went down in the first quarter of game one, but who was battling injuries in fall camp and who's left both games with injury, has two holds in 55 snaps

My medical expert on shoulders (random guy I’ve never met on the internet) is saying the 9.95ers have botched this recovery timeline from the get-go and that 1-2 weeks out is more likely.

I’m no ortho doc but I’m eating breakfast in a Reno casino right now and I choose to believe this.

Ewers back fully healthy for WVU to tune up before OU would be ideal.

I would guess something more around two weeks on Sark saying he's "day to day" alone, based on what "day to day" normally means, plus the reports of Card/Wright taking the reps. But I'm still getting used to Sark-Speak. Day to Day doesn't literally mean he can be okay tomorrow in every case, but more that they're really not sure of a minimum time. It would normally suggest to me it's a lot about the uncertainty of pain management, healing time, further injury etc.. NFL guys labeled day to day immediately after a game might play that week, or it might be a couple of weeks. Just depends if they can get through a practice that week without any major complications that day and the next etc... Rarely does an important player labeled "Day to day" go beyond three weeks unless there is a major setback. By reports, it for sure wouldn't be this week. Official news between here and next Monday's press conference could shed some more light, hopefully.

He’s the backup QB of coaches.  Everyone loves him until he comes in for your team and looks like shit at which point the 9.95s will say he should have never been out there.

Had Austin Jordan already passed up Brooks?  He was a guy I figured would get a good amount of PT this year.

Certainly seems like it. Wonder if they might look at moving Brooks to nickel or safety in the offseason. I remember Gerry saying that every school was recruiting Brooks as a corner except for one.....TCU, who told him they saw him at safety.

He was a mole for 9.95ers like crazy.  It was part of the reason Herman didn't keep him.

The myth of Traylor is heavily dependent on 9.95 loyalty.

Any word on how the practices have been this week? Last week reports were that the team was having a great week of practice and when I read that I just thought "we'll see." Well, we saw. So I guess I'm willing to believe general reports of the crispness and performance level during practices now.

Brooks is also like 17 years old. He came to Texas young, maybe his development timeline is diferent from Jordan's. You can't just assume every freshman is ready no matter what their ranking was out of HS.
