Daughter should say "your daddy ain't gonna make $500M."

I’m sure his kids go to a top notch private school so little guys folks are probably doing alright.

Maybe not 500,000,000 alright but they’re probably well off.

And they don’t have a career bitch for a father so

I don’t care what people think of this man. He is awesome and his spirit of happiness and thankfulness is really cool to behold. He was quite literally once at a point of having to lay on the floor of his house just to be able to not hurt every moment of the day.

His commentating is crazy, but that makes him who he is. We could all stand to take ourselves less seriously and just enjoy life like Bill Walton.

he's the second worst cbb announcer behind only lowell galindo. his inane, meandering style of speaking over the game which he is completely ignoring is an abomination which thankfully is relegated to late night pac 12 games that nobody watches. he is objectively unfit for/terrible at his job. if people want to celebrate his kookiness and his ability to inanely drone on for hours then he should start a podcast. i megaloathe the rare times when he the color guy for a Texas game.

I’ve told this Walton story on here before. He was calling a spurs lakers playoff game way back in the day and we’re sitting pretty close to the broadcast table. Good seats obviously. Halftime rolls around and Kobe spent the first half trying to distribute to his teammates and they were missing everything in sight and you could tell he was getting pissed. Walton walks by and I say, “Hey Bill. How many times do you think Kobe passes the ball in the second half?” He looks me dead in the eye in full Walton voice and says, “Not very many” and starts laughing. Halftime is almost finished and he comes back to the table holding one of those Where’s Walton tie dye tshirts. He comes looking for me and hands me one. So great. I love Bill Walton.

every good walton story is like this one- it's about an interaction with him away from the announcers table. interesting/nice guy; horrible color commentator.

We’ve all seen thousands of basketball games and can dissect what’s happening in front of us.

We’ve never once heard Boris Diaw be compared to Beethovens fifth symphony in E-Flat

Wrong the worst announcer is Jeff Van Gundy followed closely by Mark Jackson, Bill Walton doesn't come near them in awfulness

Can't argue with any of this. Walton's comments are tangential, unfocused, biased (toward UCLA/Pac-12) and largely oblivious to the game being played.

And, yet, I dunno. I just find my ears hanging on to his commentary to hear what he'll say next while my eyes stay glued to the court to see what happens next.

In contrast, Galindo's comments are so forced, so wanna-be hip that I can only give one groan or eyeroll after another.

That's a lot of words to say this: Despite his shortcomings and unconventional style, Walton adds something to the TV spectator experience. It is inimitable and it will be missed once he's gone.

I think he's entertaining as hell.

I do not have the opportunity to listen to him as often as I used to, but he always made me laugh. If there is commentary I do not enjoy I just turn the volume down, but I have never done that with Walton. Just a human being that genuinely enjoys life. People like that are awesome to be around. My mother is close to Walton’s age and she has that same personality where she just enjoys life and does not really care what anyone thinks. Great way to be.

If they're waiving CP3 they're almost assuredly dumping Ayton on somebody.
Waiving CP clears $14.2M in cap for next season in case anyone was curious. It also takes CP off the team, obviously.

They are 1 million under the cap with 6 guys on the roster. They have enough in cal holds to put them over the first apron. They almost have to trade Ayton for 2 guys with short contracts.

Who hates Marcus Smart? This ain't Pat Bev out there just agitating and calling it defense. Dude legitimately plays great on ball defense within the rules of the game.

Hate?  No.

Just think Boston’s offense is missing a true point guard and why they had to rely more and more on White to play that role. They played some of their best team offense the two weeks smart was out and White took over.

Everything else you posted is why he would make a great fit with Booker and KD.

I have been thinking CP3 for Smart would be a good trade for a while.  Boston could use some veteran leadership. And Smart takes way too many end of game shots to be as inefficient as he is.  And Phoenix needs perimeter defense and toughness.  I think both teams would win more if they made it.
