I’ve said it before - I really like this guy’s film.

He's got a tremendous motor. Amazing energy when they let him off the leash. He's always chasing after the ball with reckless abandon. He plays well in traffic. In fact, he may have a little too much energy because he wears down in the second half. If you look closely at the Hudl film, you can see the coaches urging him to take a drink of water and telling him, "Sit Utu, sit."

Bruce Matthews is in the Hall of Fame and went to USC before the the Oilers/Titans. He played something like 19 seasons without missing a game. He later became a coach. His kids were all aggies. Mike Munchak is also in the Hall of Fame. He went to Penn State. He had a pretty long coaching career in the NFL after he retired as a player.  Dean Steinkuhler went to Nebraska, was the Outland Award winner, and was picked 2nd in the draft. He won rookie of the year, but knee injuries caught up with him. Gene Chilton played at Texas and then the Chiefs. Omar Saleh started at Texas when Texas wasn't very good. He was too small and not strong enough to have an NFL future.

Matthews, Munchak, Steinkulher and Dawson all played for the Oilers/Texans. M&M played together ~ 10 years and were some road grading MF'ers.

Elkins HS is in Fort Bend ISD, in Missouri City, SW of Houston. A number of Oiler players lived down that way.

Matthews looked at the coaching at Texas, ...  and sent his kids to A&M.

Ohio state is recruiting him at WR and we’re recruiting him at DB?

Interesting development

Texas is recruiting him at wherever he wants to play but projects him as a CB. There's some thought that he wants to get looks at both positions once on campus.

Somebody occasionally does the two button choices for the cartoon character meme in which the options are "click to catch up on new info" and "spyder2y is the only new post". I often think of that when I land in this forum.

But you ignore me, right? So all you have to do is scroll past my posts. It's as easy as south Austin's mom. You don't have to worry about what I say, just move along like i don't exist. Problem solved. Don't even click on what I say unless you want to self-falgellate and ruin your day.

"Hey everyone, it's your responsibility to account for my behavior, and it's in no way incumbent on me to modify my behavior to fit into society and successfully interact with groups of people. Because Fuck You, I'm not changing anything about myself, you people should make changes to accomodate my presence. If you don't like the fact that I smell like shit, well don't breathe or hold your breath."

Sorry, you are correct. I don't know where Dulles and Elkins kids go. I don't even know the demographic there - Other than it being different than the BraeBurn CC demographic and that's as close as I ever get these days.

It’s incredibly diverse. They send kids everywhere. I’m sure there are plenty of ags, but it won’t be an echo chamber like some of the Houston suburbs.

Grew up in the area and its across the board. Shocking the difference going from a diverse fandom area like Sugar Land compared to the woodlands where I live now, the whole fan gear section at academy is maroon. Its terrible

Ignore is also worthless when the entire forum is poisoned by him making it seem like there's actual new activity on every thread. Need a real block feature.

9/12 new posts by the same guy who doesn't know what planet he's on half the time and who posts incoherent shit all night is a problem.

He needs to discover reddit or 247 or Twitter or IT or fucking anywhere that isn't this place to shit post constantly.

I'll happily pay for that guy's monthly membership to any of the other Texas sites if he just stops the all day all night shit posting here.

Vomit posting has a place somewhere, I'm sure, but it sure as fuck isn't the 9.95 forum.

He's very lucky rep is +1/-1 vs being weighted based on the rep of whose giving it.

Edit: oh yeah. I'm sure these are all going to be reasonable, well thought out posts.

I know Westfield is ghetto now and people have moved out from there to the Woodlands. However, in the mid-80s I lived in Parapet next to about 6 engineers who all went to Spring Westfield and they all sent their kids to UT. So maybe the Woodlands isn’t all Aggie. Plus, I thought the Woodlands was mainly Oil and Gas - Doesn’t that mean there are a lot of UT PetEs living there?

If it's Chianti, it's Italian by default, since it refers to a region. Otherwise you're drinking a Sangiovese (or a Sangiovese blend), which can be really nice, just not called Chianti.

If you aren't buying boxes wine, you're doing it wrong

Fwiw, I'm in Austin and close to an Academy and it's probably 60% Aggie gear.  I just figured that's how they roll.

On top of Hookem10's comment about Clearance, the other thing to consider is floor space. Whether empty or full, if they have 5 racks dedicated to aggie gear, and one rack for texas, and one rack for Tech and TCU and Baylor, you can justfiably say it's predominantly aggie.

People in Austin have tons of other options to by their longhorn sports gear, like the Co-Op. Or the local Tyler's.  Those things don't exist in The Woodlands. You have THEIR local Tyler's, and Academy.

Listen Boomer, outside of you gassing on about your intimate knowledge of OL play becuase you hung with the Oilers O-line in the 80s and early 90's, can you maybe not apply information from 40 years ago to make uninformed blanket statements about the demographics of places you haven't stepped foot in for decades? Sure, the "I used to talk shop with Mike Munchack back when telephones all had cords" is equally useless, but at least it's a football take and we can dismiss it accordingly.

My brother and sister and law, niece and nephew live in the Woodlands. I'm out there once a month, and I've been to their academy and football games. It's all aggie. But you know, ignore Texas people who do actually live there like RGBIII telling you what it's like, or other folks familiar with the area becuase 40 years ago you used to live 20 minutes from The Woodlands.

But if you must continue, please, tell us how Katy is actually not a College Station stronghold next.

You have a vested interest in supporting this position, though.

Take a deep breath. I was asking a question about the Woodlands. I was not providing answers. I just wanted an assessment.

But if it makes you feel any better, my brother gives me shit all the time about Houston. Since the 90s I’ve gone to Santa Fe more than Houston and when I go to Houston I’m pretty lame and visit my brother and parents and don’t really bother to see friends. This means that I don’t really know Houston anymore and will mention some place the Ginger Man or Pig and Whistle or some place and I’ll be quickly informed that the place closed like 25 years ago.

Alls good and it may not have come across correctly, but I just wanted more info.

This. It’s markdown/clearance time. A good time for all the T-shirt Aggies to go get their gear for this coming season. Whoop.

I wouldn't have seen his post without your pasting, so he was actually right. I find his shit worthless and he isn't worth the bullets. He's on ignore and I forget he exists until he uber-threadbombs this forum and I fail to notice until clicking on a thread with "unread" posts.

I go through these periods sometimes where, if I see an ignored poster's posts popping up in pastes and they actually seem improved, I'll take them off of ignore. Some never go back, some do. There are many, however, who truly just deserve to be ignored. Chief among those is spider2ydummy. There's another high volume dipshit with just the worst fucking takes around here who is right down there with him, but he's rarely on the $9.95 board so I'll just leave it at that.

Sometimes it is cathartic. The fucking spider2ybuffoon posts so much that he masks whether there's real new content or not. This site isn't always the fastest or I'm not always in the greatest areas, so it is a bummer to take the time to click on a new thread and discover that I've wasted energy on the insipid activity of a doofus.

I asked a guy at the Dick's on Post Oak about the complete lack of Longhorn gear when I was shopping there during the holidays. The place had plenty of aggie and Texans gear. "Texas stuff gets sold out and it is hard to get back in stock." Made sense. The Woodlands Academy is no doubt a different thing, but in most places, folks are seeing more aggie gear because they chose poorly when buying for that cycle.

there is a fannatics store near me at the Tanger Outlets in TX City.  The amount of aggy, Texans, cowboys gear is overwhelming.. tees, jerseys, sweaters, jackets, golf club, stuffed animals, mugs, etc..

But Texas has just a small area with not many options.. I asked the lady at the counter why doesn't Texas have a bigger area with more merchandise.. She told me because Texas stuff gets sold faster.. reason why the section is smaller compared to the other teams.
