I think people severely underestimate just how blackout drunk many posters routinely are on these boards.  It really explains a lot of things when you think about it.

Utu is listed at 6'4 320 lbs.  Sounds like an IOL.

He will be but he is bigger than Turntine and is also very athletic.

Any chance we take 7 OL this year like we did in 22, or will we end up processing some later in the cycle? Or will we convert some listed tackles into IOLs?  It looks like we’re in position to take a stupid number of OL if we want them. I guess a lot depends on what happens with the out of state guys we’re recruiting.

IIRC, this guy was in the list of DLs Gerry said need to be watched. (#44 overall on 247, #101 composite.)

Also, from Tom Loy (247 Sports), we're one of the four schools on his current OV list.  (He had committed to Alabama;  they're off his list now, and he says there's been no communication - not sure if he's been processed or what, but other elite schools are clearly still interested.)

We need to restock the depth chart. The last two classes only had 7 guys, a few of whom probably have a low chance of being starters on a playoff-caliber team. They don't seem too interested in tranfer players at OL.

wonder how Flood works this cycles OTs

Ojo has said it himself that he is a LT and expects to be the LT in college

Turntine also feels he's a LT

They are on different developmental tracks. You could argue Ojo has the higher ceiling, but he is behind Turntine as a player right now. Turntine is more Banks and Ojo is Cam Williams/Goosby. Personally, I dont think you can ever take too many LT prospects. Its like CBs. A miss at LT can be a solid player at another OL spot. Just think of Banks. He was a great LT for Texas, some think he doesnt have the length to be a hihg end LT in the NFL. How good would the OL have been, if there were 3 guys like Banks on the 2024 OL. Worst of the 3 would have been the best Guard on the OL.

Is it wrong to think that anytime I see Oregon vs Texas, that it's mostly about the money?

Noticed on the aggy 247 page they already have 19 OV's listed and just 4 are from in-state.

It's because A&M is a national school, stupid sip.

"Not set but I know I'm going to go during the spring and I believe I'm going to take an OV (in the summer)," he said of visit plans.

As for schools pushing the hardest …

"A lot of them," Feaster said. "For me it's LSU, A&M, Oregon, and Texas."

MELISSA, Texas — Four-star wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster reclassified to the 2026 cycle last week, currently occupying the No. 8 wide receiver and No. 67 overall player in the class spot, per 247Sports.

The DeSoto standout already held a Texas offer prior to reclassifying. He spoke with UT wide receivers coach Chris Jackson the day the news came out, and then again the next day.

"Texas is my guys," Feaster told Horns247 at the Under Armour Dallas camp. "I love Coach Jackson, I love Coach Sark. Those two are my guys. I like them. Coach Choice was my guy, too. But he left. Coach Banks, he plays a major part as well. Those are my guys for sure."

Feaster has already visited Texas in the past. He plans to get back soon.

"Not set but I know I'm going to go during the spring and I believe I'm going to take an OV (in the summer)," he said of visit plans.

The state of the Longhorns' program is catching Feaster's eye.

"I like Texas' culture," he said. "They're a great culture. That's my biggest thing was the culture. I don't want to go to no school just because of a coach. I want to go to a culture I fit in."

LSU and USC are the current official visits set thus far.

As for schools pushing the hardest …

"A lot of them," Feaster said. "For me it's LSU, A&M, Oregon, and Texas."

E.J. Holland: Michigan surging for Top 100 RB Javian Osborne after Texas coaching departure

Quote

The recruitment of Top 100 Forney (Texas) High running back Javian Osborne just got really interesting. Michigan and Texas were considered the clear leaders for Osborne going into the dead period. However, the Longhorns recently suffered a setback as running backs coach and lead recruiter Tashard Choice took a job with the NFL’s Detroit Lions. The loss of Choice means Michigan is in a prime spot to take sole possession of Osborne’s top spot. “I think it affects Texas pretty significantly,” said Texas insider Justin Wells of On3’s Inside Texas. “The main draw for Texas and Osborne was, essentially, Tashard Choice. He is the ultimate relationship builder. Once he zeroes in on his guy, he usually gets his guy. He’s been getting to know Osborne for two and a half or three years now. I think it’s going to make a dent in the recruitment.”

On the flip side of the coin, Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford has invested a lot of time and resources in Osborne’s recruitment. Alford arrived at Michigan shortly after the Wolverines offered Osborne last year and has made him feel like a top priority ever since. Aside from just Osborne, Alford has built up strong bonds with Osborne’s father, Mo, and trainer, Brandon Williams. Michigan is also getting a boost from fellow assistant JB Brown, who initially offered Osborne and is originally from the Dallas area. Brown’s father, James, is on U-M’s staff as an analyst and was the head coach at nearby North Forney. He is very familiar with Osborne’s high school coaching staff.

So who can Texas hire to gain momentum back with Osborne? “The running backs coach out of Baylor, Khenon Hall,” Wells said. “He has some DFW experience. He has a tremendous relationship with Javian Osborne and his trainer. It remains to be seen who is on the short list. But I know Khenon Hall would move the needle with this 2026 class.” Hall played his high school ball at premier Dallas program South Oak Cliff and was previously at SMU. In terms of the Osborne recruitment, Hall would be a home run hire for the Longhorns. Michigan fans should hope for a different name to emerge in Texas’ search for a new running backs coach.

Overall, it’s clear Michigan is now the team to beat. However, Osborne is going to give Texas a chance to clear up the situation and will go through the process. “It was already a Texas vs Michigan battle,” Wells said. “I think it’s tilted towards the Maize and Blue now. They’ve done an amazing job of building that relationship. He’s still going to visit Texas on June 13-15. He’s still going to hit Michigan June 20-22. He told me Texas is still in the mix. They’re going to see who the new running backs coach is and take their time. I think Texas was leading before Choice left. I think Michigan is leading now.”

No one recruit, other than an Arch level guy, is worth focusing your coaching hire on. If we don’t get Osborne or any other impact guy, then we can grab one in the portal.

How would he know what Osborne thinks of Chad Scott? Did he previously poll him on all potential RB coaches? Maybe he’s the president of the Chad Scott fan club for all we know.
