If Corby on the Ticket last week wasn’t blowing smoke,

Jalen Rose, of Fab Five fame, was the first Jalen…ever. By the year 2000, the name Jalen went from 0 to the top 100 baby names….by 2025 Jalen is the most popular NBA name…it’s also the most popular NBA name in history…it’s also the most popular NFL name…it’s also the most popular NCAA basketball name…it’s also the most popular NCAA football name.

While there was at least one Jalen born in the United States before Jan. 30, 1973, when Jeanne Rose gave her son the name that was a combination of his father's (James) and his uncle's (Leonard), there's no doubt the popularity of the name can be tied directly to Jalen Rose's fame. "When a name jumps fast, that means that there's something going on, that something is influencing it," said Jennifer Moss, founder and CEO of BabyNames.com. "Why wasn't it anywhere on the charts before 1992? Well, of course, because it must have been influenced by Jalen Rose." Rose debuted as part of Michigan's Fab Five in 1991. The very next year, Jalen cracked the top 1,000 most popular names, according to the U.S. Social Security Office of the Actuary for U.S. Births. The name debuted at No. 378. The next year, when Rose was helping the Wolverines reach a second consecutive national title game, it jumped to 216.

Texas Tech is about to start showing up on these lists.

Yes, by all means. Let's sandwich that visit in between USC and Texas and see how that works out for their fair town.

Javian Osborne tweeted he is no longer taking an official visit to Texas.

He's most likely to Michigan unless Chad Scott can work some magic and build relationship quickly

Michigan has seemed like the favorite before Choice left anyway.

New coach they’ll probably need to allocate more NIL to the position to help out or go portal.

Gerry's said quite a few times that one is LSU 80%, the field 20%. Might just not be worth the investment.

or, [highest paying school] 100%

We have an embarrassment of riches. The amount of guys that would be “Home Runs” during the Strong/Herman era don’t see a way to get on the field. Especially when you have high four star and a five star with 1-2 years more experience in front of you. I can see this in the secondary, and at WR.

Doesn't mean anything. Last year we lost a commit at DT, and everyone here shit their pants for months, then we closed with one of the best DT classes in the country.

Once the new coach gets going he'll pull a couple of top end guys.

Alabama RB recruit that cancelled his OV after Choice left has reversed course on that decision.
