Once upon a time 30+ years ago, I made a mistake and went to high school in New Jersey (the same school Royal Ivey played for), followed by correcting that mistake and returning home to UT.  The Hun School is a private school in New Jersey.  I don’t know how it works these days, but back then these northeastern private schools often recruited top state high school graduates in football and basketball on scholarship for a “post-graduate 13th grade” before heading off to college.  I wonder if this kid is one of those and if so, where he played his pre-graduate high school ball?

PGs are a big part of prep school athletics (Joakim Noah was one at my high school), but Wafle appears to be a four-year Hun guy: https://www.hudl.com/profile/20391883/Luke-Wafle

Also, Blair sucks, go Big Red.

Now back in on Latimer.

Gerry:

Four-star RB target locks in Texas OV

Long-time running back target in the 2026 cycle Amari Latimer (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek) has locked in a June official visit.

Texas running backs coach Chad Scott has been in communication with the Peach State downhill back since being hired at Texas, and has now locked in an OV. Latimer, 5-foot-11 and 210-pounds, was considered a Texas lean prior to Tashard Choice's departure for the NFL.

Latimer now has three OV's locked in. He begins at Wisconsin May 30-June 2, then goes to Miami June 6-8 and Texas the weekend after. Latimer has two uncles that played for the Hurricanes.

+++++++

Anyone feel like they have a clue where things land at RB in this cycle?

My view:

1) They want 2 RBs, per usual.

2) KJ Edwards appears to be one of them.

3) They're still casting a wide net for another high end guy between Latimer, the Bama guy, and the Florida guy. Are they totally done going after Osborne, who is leaning Michigan, or is he going to appear back on the radar as well?

Golden Tee is an arcade game that has been inexplicably popular for twenty years. Not a thing to be selling.

The money is in the repairs man!

Also that game is fun as hell. I want to get one for my garage.

Didn't Myron Rolle go to The Hun school? I know he went to Cambridge and is a neurosurgeon. I know we were on his list of schools, but it was so long ago and before I really knew about recruiting jf he ever visited.

Close.  He was a Rhodes scholar and studied at Oxford for a year.  FSU for med school.

But yes Hun School

Spoiler

Georgia RB Amari Latimer schedules Texas official visit

Will Turboff (Horns 247)

Since news of Tashard Choice vacating his post as running backs coach at Texas was revealed in February, and the subsequent introduction of Chad Scott, buzz surrounding the Longhorns and Amari Latimer had been near zero up until Wednesday.

Now, Horns247's Hank South has learned that the Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek three-star back will return to Texas for an official visit on June 13-15.

Latimer, who ranks as the nation's No. 29 running back, joins Top247 prospects KJ Edwards and Ezavier Crowell as the three rising seniors that Scott and the Longhorns are currently expecting to host over the summer, with the last two scheduled to be in Austin on June 6-8.

As noted, Texas has not been seen as a major contender in Latimer's recruitment in recent months, and both Miami and Wisconsin had already scheduled summer trips with the 5-foot-10, 209-pound prospect prior to the Longhorns doing so.

If he makes it to camps in June, Latimer's visit will be his first to the Forty Acres since mid-October, when he was in attendance for the Longhorns win over Kentucky.

Previously, Texas had led in Crystal Ball forecasts for the Peach State product, but there are currently no predictions for his ultimate destination.

Not at all. Posted in the non-Texas channel but a leftfield pick for Hartline.

Not getting in on this kid early is going to come back to haunt us. Just look at the determination on that face

The Ogre is welcome to the staff i my humble opinion. However might be hard to eat field turf on the sidelines?

Have you heard the Ogre sing online? Nothing but Coonass Comical! I laugh, but he did send both of his boys to my McNeese Cowboys. While at LSU Coach O was “present” at his Boys practices, scrimmages, and games as time would allow. Sometimes arriving on the field level for just the 2nd half.

A reporter once asked the Ogre why he didn’t just let his boys walk-on at LSU? He frankly said, because my boys wanted to play ball! They couldn’t have done that at LSU!

As a small individual $$ donor, as well as my employer’s campus wide $$$, I had access more than others in the 2010’s to McNeese. Ed O off the field was as personable as one could get. He always remembered my name and etc, as if he was recruiting me. And this is while he’s trying to watch his sons practice/play.

The whole time I was supposed to be finding the “diamond in the rough” Chem E major at McNeese. I wasn’t a CE, but they knew I finished there and lived there for a decade+ plus for the relationship building. We usually get 1 or 2 McNeese interns each summer to come to SA. Maybe 1-3 UT students. The majority are aggy or dirt burglers - yuck!!!

The guy who played Gaston at Disney World got shithoused on July 4th a few years back and attempted to launch a large firework off the top of his head, decapitating himself. Gaston Gramatica just made the equivalent to that move in recruiting.

While obviously horrific/hilarious, I thought CTJ meant he did this shit in character at Disney world traumatizing countless children. Am disappoint.

Outstanding. That shit would have been a story globally.
