Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: They Can't Keep Getting Away With This

Interested to know what led to this relatively late offer for a consensus top 100 national player. He's already got 5 OVs set up with legit schools. Fair to say that we're feeling less confident about a target at the same position? Just a late eval? Not criticizing, just curious.

I just think it's entirely excessive to offer him 25 different times. Once seems sufficient.

Hopefully this guy will stop by UT while he is in Texas.

He is probably 3 years away from being productive in college. He is a very good athlete but he only weighs 245lbs on a 6'6" frame and he isn't quick enough to be real successful as a DE. Plus he stand up too high for decent leverage. So, basically he will need to gain about 70lbs and improve his technique. Hopefully, he can get to campus next year at 260lbs, and then by his second year in the program over 300lbs. Then, he can be successful inside at DT. This is the type of project most successful teams wants as opposed to maxed out suburban kids.

Gerry mentioned something interesting on YouTube today. He said Texas is shifting to recruiting Jalen Lott as a receiver first. He sat in on WR meetings during his last visit.

They are being smart because Oregon is going at the WR angle.  Fuck Oregon, don't let them take our premier athletes, especially legacy player.

I like it. Even if Lott is better on D (not saying he is), I'm not sure we're really in on a better WR prospect in this class. Prove me wrong, Tristan Keys.

i felt it was always going to be an uphill climb with WR recruiting after the haul we had last cycle (Ffrench, Lockett and McCutcheon)..

this reminds me of the time spurrier called out nick saban about “how is he gettting all these top players at the same position every year” spurrier said he had the number 1 class one year and couldn’t get the top players next year because they didn’t want to follow that class. He said it with a smirk, like you know why.

Who is JackC on the right?

Daniel Cruz looks slimmed down. Any more and message boards goobers are going to start projecting him to TE

Jackson Christian, he is a guard from the '25 class.
