Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: They Can't Keep Getting Away With This

Interested to know what led to this relatively late offer for a consensus top 100 national player. He's already got 5 OVs set up with legit schools. Fair to say that we're feeling less confident about a target at the same position? Just a late eval? Not criticizing, just curious.

I just think it's entirely excessive to offer him 25 different times. Once seems sufficient.

Hopefully this guy will stop by UT while he is in Texas.

He is probably 3 years away from being productive in college. He is a very good athlete but he only weighs 245lbs on a 6'6" frame and he isn't quick enough to be real successful as a DE. Plus he stand up too high for decent leverage. So, basically he will need to gain about 70lbs and improve his technique. Hopefully, he can get to campus next year at 260lbs, and then by his second year in the program over 300lbs. Then, he can be successful inside at DT. This is the type of project most successful teams wants as opposed to maxed out suburban kids.

Gerry mentioned something interesting on YouTube today. He said Texas is shifting to recruiting Jalen Lott as a receiver first. He sat in on WR meetings during his last visit.

They are being smart because Oregon is going at the WR angle.  Fuck Oregon, don't let them take our premier athletes, especially legacy player.

I like it. Even if Lott is better on D (not saying he is), I'm not sure we're really in on a better WR prospect in this class. Prove me wrong, Tristan Keys.

i felt it was always going to be an uphill climb with WR recruiting after the haul we had last cycle (Ffrench, Lockett and McCutcheon)..

this reminds me of the time spurrier called out nick saban about “how is he gettting all these top players at the same position every year” spurrier said he had the number 1 class one year and couldn’t get the top players next year because they didn’t want to follow that class. He said it with a smirk, like you know why.

Who is JackC on the right?

Daniel Cruz looks slimmed down. Any more and message boards goobers are going to start projecting him to TE

Jackson Christian, he is a guard from the '25 class.

Buckle yo. Either Cooper or Crowell. We gotta land one of them to go with Edwarda. Let's hope Chad Scott is as much of a rain maker as Choice was.

Texas getting neither.  Gonna be Edwards and Lattimer for this class.

Bobby and Gerry have also started throwing around comparisons to Dakorien Moore, which is an interesting development. Ignoring whether or not that’s slight hyperbole, it’’s a great comparison to make because Oregon already has someone in that role.

Your certitude is lacking in foundation, distracting and lazy. If Texas truly decides they have to have one of those guys, they’re getting one of those guys. Some of you guys have learned nothing.

The Jon Snow approach to recruiting.

Lott? Seriously, you didn’t realize that he was that fast?

As a sophomore he was the long jump jr Olympic champion. And as a sophomore he ran a 10.9 100 and had a 7’ high jump. He also hurdles and his dad was a track star and corner and his mom played basketball at Texas.

The fact that it's been reported that Texas is circling back around to Lattimer for an official visit in June, Crowell has been said to be a Bama lean per Gerry and there's been little movemnt with Cooper up til now for an unofficial visit.  But okay keep on keeping on bub. 😉

Great point. As we all know, recruitments are all completely decided in April and not subject to change.

Boobie Feaster canceled his OV or something.

That's unfortunate. When you have a chance to add a Boobie to the roster, you need to close the deal. In my opinion, there are not enough Boobies in the world.

N Together Now and Rollin' are both awesome, and I don't give a shit how many of you milquetoast haters think otherwise. Now, Korn? I couldn't name a song from their catalog.

I'm not your bub, guy.

You know what Gerry also says? "It's all going to come down to NIL with most of these guys these days, anyway."

Cooper is on campus this weekend with his mom and stepdad. They're not doing that because they think Austin is simply a wonderful place to visit in April.
