Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: They Can't Keep Getting Away With This

A&M went from an all male college with a limited enrollment, to accepting ugly women in the 70s who didn't move the needle, to going Greek and expanding their enrollment in the 80s and 90s, using fishcamp and bonfire as their primary brainwashing tools rather than pretend army. The massively increased enrollment helped shift suburban Houston from a UT enclave to several places where Aggie hegemony rules. Since Perry and Sharp chose to deliberately turn A&M into a diploma mill, and their degree can't really gain them employment outside of their cultish oil and gas connections and their asinine faux military academy ring knocking, Houston suburbs have been overrun. Thankfully River Oaks and West University still offer safe passage. Yeah, there are Aggies around here, but they're not as numerous and easily dismissed as the odd mouth breather.

As far as Fort Bend, you've got the massive Chinese churches imported by the real estate magnate behind Sienna Plantation, the huge Hindu temple just down the street from Dulles HS, the Pakistanistan west of Highway 6 looking for ways to terrorist bomb the temple out of existence, the Mormon temple, a couple of big Catholic churches that went from catering to Yankee immigrants in the 80s to almost wholly Mexican and central American descendants, and a dwindling white population that keeps moving further west because that's what white people do when people of color move in en masse, so that now Lamar Consolidated has schools rated better than FBISD. And then you've always had the eastern county precinct 1 which is the only place a Democrat+African American has ever been able to get elected.

Yeah, it's not an A&M enclave. That's reserved for predominantly white suburbs like Katy and The Woodlands.

I live in Memorial and we are infested with them here. Plenty of fellow Horns though.

Back when I was there, the high school was probably 90/10 Texas to A&M and Kinkaid was even more one-sided. That was before Spring Branch and Westchester closed, though.

Bryan and college station are twin cities. Spring by and The Woodlands are right next to each other. Let’s see if you remember basic elementary school alalogies:

Bryan : College Station :: Spring : Woodlands

I understand alalogies fine. What I don't understand is your statement, "I like tease him it’s the edge of Spring". I just figured shrooms but I guess hillbilly gibberish was the correct answer. OTOH, por qué no los dos.

These type of posts never end well- but FWIW I inquired about Jalen Lott to someone very close to him (not related).

My buddy told me Lott doesn’t prefer one position over the other. He said Lott wants to see the field as fast as possible, and Lott/Lott’s camp believe that could be on defense.

My buddy didn’t say anything about which school was standing out, and I didn’t want to press. But he did say, all the kids love Texas and rep the gear.

Some slight insight but nothing too crazy. I do like that Texas is a cool school again! Hook ‘em

This dovetails with what the kid and dad have told folks who cover things both nationally and for Texas.

I’m sorry a missing “to” threw you off.

Depends on how technical you want to get. @@RGBIII's been shacking up with KKL, so he spends part of his time in Nebraska, part of his time in the Woodlands, and all of his time staring at ovaries on the table.

For awhile Milwee just did the clean shave of his head and for the life of my I can't understand why he went back to...that. At least he stopped the comb-forward.

Justin Wells: Texas top RB target Javian Osborne dives into his recruitment, latest trip to Austin

Quote

For Forney (Texas) running back Javian Osborne, Austin may resemble home. He’s taking almost double-digit trips to Texas over the last two years and came back for the annual Junior Day festivities last weekend. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound four-star is no stranger on the Forty Acres. But this latest visit might’ve hit differently. “Definitely the camaraderie,” Osborne told Inside Texas about what stood out during this trip. “I was in position meetings hanging with coach Choice, I see a lot of connection, a lot of the players, the early enrollees, I saw them helping out the staff. They’re all together and really close, so I see how this staff is different. The room is just different.”

Texas stopped by Forney to see Javian last week, and Tashard Choice and Chris Gilbert made an in-home visit with Osborne’s family that night. “It was good,” Osborne said with a laugh. “It was great. I showed coach Choice my film, and he got to describe what was different from my sophomore year to my junior year tape. He showed me what was different. He was able to see and greet my family. Just an amazing visit.” Osborne was sensational in 2024, after he had over 150 carries and ran for 1,085 yards and 21 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. He also caught three scoring passes. As a sophomore, Osborne eclipsed 1,000 total yards and had eight touchdowns.

Osborne named his top 10 schools two weeks ago. Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Oregon, SMU, Texas A&M, Florida State, Tennessee, Alabama and Notre Dame all made the cut. But this battle could come down to the Longhorns and Wolverines. He is the No. 74 overall prospect and No. 6 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 10 player in Texas.
