Apparently Aaron Bradshaw committing April 18,

Know we were going after him pretty hard a few months ago. Anything changed?

Whenever I see "TAMU" I think of "Shamu"

When I think "TAMU Shamu" I think of Elko, the TAMU Shamu

LSU just offered CB Hayward Howard.  Probably not a coincidence the offer came when he's scheduled to visit this weekend.  Kid apparently has been showing out at camps and was in the ESPN 300 that just came out.  Feels like Anding all over again.

So an Ojo/Roseborough tackle class looks more likely now?

AFAIK, Bobby is still beating the drum that Turntine is the #1 guy and that he'll be a Horn in the end. Literally everyone else seems to have started hedging on both ends of that statement. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know the story on Keisean Henderson (not as it relates to us as we have our QB)? I haven’t heard much about his recruitment for a QB that’s currently the consensus #1 prospect in Texas. Seemed like he was all UH from early on, hard to imagine that sticks unless there’s some sort of family connection.

If I recall correctly, he's the #1 prospect because he's an insane athlete, but UH is one of the few schools guaranteeing he's there to be their QB.

Texas offered but really didn’t make a strong push. Gideon was a big fan but communication changed once the coaching switch occurred.

A Big 12 school is being really aggressive right now and that’s where I expect him to commit.

I asked this several weeks ago and nobody responded.  it's almost like my posts are being suppressed.  and I'll tell you another thing: I won't stand for it.

I think he stays.  There is supposedly a willingness on the UH side to do what's necessary financially, and that should be enough to carry the day.  What's nearly as strange as the UH commitment is the fact he's stayed at his high school.  Lots of coaches came at them about transferring to programs with more exposure and a higher level of competition.   Weird QB recruitment for sure.

I could see tech doing their thing still, I could see Colorado doing it to support the big Deion contract, and I could maybe see tcu starting to spend on football like they’re spending on non revenue sports.

Plays against absolutely nobody at a fake high school in spring. He’s a god at 7on7 which is enough to get you a 5 star rating these days. I’m guessing he transfers at least twice in college and sucks everywhere he plays. We aren’t missing anything there.

All the picks coming in are for Tech.

Does anyone know where I can get current Heisman odds on Keisean Henderson? I’d like to retire early.

His is now the single most important recruitment since at least Vince Young.

I'm not sure you're asking about whether Texas is trying to get involved, but I doubt he would want to switch from QB to ATH. Regardless, he's probably sticking with UH. I kmow the staff really wants Gunner Rivers for the next class, but OTF says his dad wants him at a school where he will have a chance to play. I guess we'll see how Owens, Lacy, and Bell do. One of them is transferring, and I would bet it's Owens.

I heard they told Ojo he's their #1 guy, but they're now saying it's a 50-50 shot between Texas and aggie for Turntine III.

He will win at least three. His middle name is Powlus.  Little known fact

In my head right now:

Based on his other posts, you’re pretty sure he’s Hispanic, so don’t make Beano joke.

Don’t do it.

Don’t do it.

Please don’t do it.

Five-star visitor headed to Austin this weekend

Five-star linebacker and current USC pledge Xavier Griffin (Gainesville, Ga./High) is scheduled to make an unofficial visit this weekend per a close to the recruitment.

Texas linebacker coach Johnny Nansen and area recruiting Kenny Baker made a stop at Gainesville High in January, and have been in steady communication since.

This will be the 6-foot-3.5, 215-pounders first visit to Texas this weekend. The plan for the Texas staff is to then secure a June official visit.

Griffin has one OV locked in on the books currently, USC June 20.

A look at cornerback recruiting

The Texas Longhorns are casting a national net at cornerback recruiting, with two in-state prospects being two of the best in the country.

Mark Orphey is building solid relationships currently, and will be hosting a number of out of state targets for the first time starting this weekend and going through the last weekend in April.

OnTexasFootball takes a look at the current cornerback prospects on the board for Texas, with the understanding the spring evaluation period could bring a new name or two to the mix.

Jalen Lott, CB/ATH, Frisco (Texas) Panther Creek
OnTexasFootball likes where this recruitment will eventually head for the Longhorns. Oregon is the biggest threat to Texas, but has to overcome serious Texas ties, and a meeting with the Texas staff after the Texas Relays that was positive.

OV's:  LSU May 30-June 2, Ohio State June 6-8, Texas June 13-15, Oregon June 20-22

Jermaine Bishop Jr., CB/ATH, Willis (Texas) High
This is a prospect Texas just wants to be in the program, and then decide where he plays long term - cornerback or receiver. And Texas leads.

OV's: USC June 6-8, Houston June 13-15, Texas June 20-22

Samari Matthews, CB, Cornelius (N.C.) Hough
The 4-star+ Tar Heel State cornerback is making his first visit to Texas this weekend. South Carolina and Clemson are the teams to beat headed into the weekend, and June official visits.

OV's: Clemson May 30-June 2, Florida State June 6-8, Texas June 13-15, South Carolina June 20-22

Justice Fitzpatrick, CB, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas
The younger brother of Minkah Fitzpatrick will make his first visit to Texas later in April. Georgia is considered the favorite headed into the official visit process.

OV's: Georgia May 30-June 2, Miami June 6-8, Texas June 13-15, maybe Ohio State June 20-22

Camren Hamiel, CB, Goodyear (Az.) Desert Edge
The OTF 4-star+ cornerback is making his first visit to Texas lat4er in April. Texas is one of several schools in the hunt for June OV's. Hamiel is not setting up OV's until he makes the round of unofficial visits, to ensure potential fits.

Brody Jennings, CB, Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood - *Michigan commit
Jennings has been in constant contact with Texas since Mark Orphey offered in March. Jennings and family are scheduled to be in Austin the last weekend in April. A June OV is possible after that, but will have to move the schedule around.

OV's: Auburn May 16-18, Alabama May 30-June 2, FloridaJune 6-8, Georgia June 13-15, Michigan June 20-22

Havon Finney, CB, Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon
Texas on the outside looking in here. If he doesn't get on campus this month, the Longhorns are out for the time being.

OV's: Ohio State June 13-15, USC June 17-18, LSU June 20-22

Hayward Howard Jr., CB, New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr
LSU entered the chat earlier in the week with an offer. The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder is scheduled to be in Austin this weekend. Texas, LSU, Florida, Auburn and Florida State are vying for June OV's. Miami already has a date set for June 13-15.

OV's: Miami June 13-15

Jordan Thomas, CB, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic
Set to announce a decision in May. Has been on campus before, and scheduled to be again April 17-18. Watching Notre Dame the most headed into last half of April visits.

Yaheim Riley, N/DB, Austin (Texas) Anderson - *Houston commit
Texas offered in March, and Houston has their hands full to beat out Texas as long as the Longhorns keep pushing. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is a nickel offer by Texas.

Dia is in Austin all the time. Great for us. I think he comes from money but is he really footing the bill every time he comes?

No need for any uncertainty there, he's Raja Bell's son.

The Turntine weight talk is peak Surly stupidity.

I think it has mostly existed outside of here. The major services have either dropped him or surged other guys like Ojo head of him. Guys like Ketch have spent hours on podcasts explicitly saying he’s too small (both height and weight) to be a 5 star.

We’re supposed to value Ketch’s opinion when talking about size??
