Also, I guess I’m way in the minority, but I think Jimbo’s final play call is defensible. Stewart’s job is to run his guy into the end zone, then cut it back and the ball should be waiting for him. If it works as designed, it’s an almost impossible to stop way to get 3 yards.

The problem is that Stewart hooked too soon (probably because he’s a true freshman that knows he’s getting the ball in a huge moment and he got over excited) and King’s throw was both too late and way off target. The timing between QB and WR has to be impeccable there.

Yeah to me he just ran a bad route and that made the play call look stupid along the lines of "Even if its a catch he's not in the end zone"

What did we learn yesterday? That Saban inexplicably has no serviceable backup QB unless he’s going to roll out Ty Simpson, which he should if Young can’t play next week.

We also learned this Alabama team is overhyped. Their schedule isn’t very difficult so they probably won’t lose again in the regular season, though. Is Saban finally getting complacent? Maybe this is his last year and he’s coasting to the finish line. One can dream.

A&M has enough talent, particularly defensively, to hang in almost every game. It’s the poor coaching, obviously, that continues to pile up losses. They could out-talent the rest of the teams on their schedule, despite the putrid coaching, but imo they will lose once more, maybe twice.  8-4, like clockwork.

The poor coaching is really interesting. Saban’s tactic of turning over coaches in his rehab program was bound to bite him in the tail sooner or later. How can you expect consistency in the players’ grasp of the offensive philosophy when you’re going from Kiffen to Sark to BoB, etc.?  Each with his own approach.
And of course BoB is a certified idiot. The anti-Mensa.

A&M can hang in almost every game because of Jimbo's play style. They just fall on the ball and burn clock.

That keeps them in close games but it also leads to losses like App State.

Saban doesn't seem like the type to coast to a finish line. A mediocre season seems like it would drive him to come back and go out better.

No matter what happens now, aggy will sell this as a win to croots

I can hear it now.  If it wasn’t for our shitty play calling, poor QB play, and receivers that can’t run the correct routes we almost had Bama.

We’ll find out here. About to go Tenn, Miss St, LSU, Ole Miss. If they’re winning the West again, it’s this stretch.

And Tenn, Ole Miss and LSU are away. High loss potential here unless Nick pulls some voodoo on offense.

By voodoo you mean shoo BoB, right?
