Million Dollar Baby. Didn’t see that coming

Was that because She was training and knocking bitches out to fighting for her life and losing limbs?

Movies that switch genres midway through the movie. The tone changes, the atmosphere changes. The second half of the movie is very different from the first half.

First up...From Dusk Til Dawn.

First half of the movie is a roadtrip with a kidnapping. Tense and creepy.

Second half is balls out vampires and gore and killings.

Yeah that's because each half had a different director

Would A.I. fall into this category? The tension between Kubrick’s and Spielberg’s competing visions make for an unusual viewing experience.

Full Metal Jacket seems like two different movies. Boot Camp / 'Nam.

Yep my first thought as well when I read this title

Monty Python’s Meaning of Life is like 7. 8 if you count The Crimson Permanent Assurance.

Meaning of Life is just a series of sketches that are more or less related to each other. Holy Grail is the same, though it gets a little more tightly bound.

They only made one movie that had something like a single plot.

Casino Royale always felt like 2 separate movies to me- first part in Jamaica and Miami, second part at poker tournament in Montenegro.

Yep. This is a good one.

You don’t say.

Point is, it's not a shift in tone if you don't have a single narrative all the way through it.

And the tone doesn't even shift; it's silly all the way through.

They should’ve made a weekly tv show using that model.
