Inka inexplicably quit the site last Saturday.

It was just kind of a weird, out-of-the-blue meltdown so far as I could tell since I wasn't on the site when it happened.

He said something about handing out flowers with a buddy in some public locale. It felt like he questioned whether anyone else was trying to be nice to strangers and spread kindness, but I think it was a slow day and he didn't get much of an immediate response, so he basically said he was taking his toys and going home.

I guess he just felt like everything here is all just a waste of time, which I can't really argue with.

Well that was unexpected.

yeah, I seriously think between the story and the immediate meltdown something happened to him IRL or that he's in some kind of breakdown state. He wasn't making much sense in emails after either.

I think the totality of everything going on right now has a lot of people spiraling. In talking to some folks that I know that are in the mental health field, they’ve said demand for services is off the charts right now.

Inka is a good poster and was very good about being direct and getting to the point.  We disagreed on plenty, but there was some commonality as veterans and other things.

To Royiv's point, if he is needing help, I hope that internal voice takes him there.  Get well if you're hurting brother.  If you're just taking a break, we'll see you when we see you.

I would not ascribe Inka’s issues to general national political turmoil. I mean maybe you’re right but I would bet heavily against it. He’s not as affected as many posters.

I dunno, but he's always been one of my favorite posters.  Invited me to go riding with him a few years back when I was vacationing in Yellowstone.  I think he was in the Pocatello ID area.

He and I are both old school TexAgs Rivalries board alumni, we go way back. I hope everything is ok with him.

Braff Zacklin went full bitch mode in a thread where he was completely wrong and threatened me in DM's to refund his sub then did a chargeback on his credit card because he's a piece of shit.

So fuck that guy

Well, he's a good dude, good poster, and apparently quite involved in humanitarian aid, so that gives him more of a stake in this bullshit than a lot of us have.

@InkaUtexas cmon back, my dude, you are missed.

I had him go off the rails on me one time fairly unprompted. Honestly I had kind of forgotten about it, but I'm quick to forgive and forget. Most of us have had our not-so-great moments on here lol.

Thought he was always a pretty good contributor.

Dude people do not go off the rails, on YOU, unprompted.  It was prompted. Trust me. You might not have known it was prompted, but it was.

It was "prompted" by a fairly innocuous discussion. His reaction was bizarre and over the top compared to his typical posting behavior. imma's post reminded me of it. Guess he just gets worked up sometimes.

I went through some heavy shit in college, two to be exact. Amazing how $0.50 wells and $0.75 longnecks on a Thursday night can take 40 pounds off a chick faster than coke

Nickel beer night night @CJs if you ordered 20, you got the "Tray Shot" for free...   I'm not sure how I'm still alive.   Beer reps fear and tremble at peak Gainesville

Tuesday night law school night with cheap pitchers. Good times.

Love the nostalgia in the last handful of posts- reminds me of the bars across the street from my dorm in the early 1990s at Texas Tech (I had a passable fake ID for that era).

Penny Pitchers, Any Coin / Any Drink, Nickel Longnecks, Power Hour at J. Pat's,  etc. Every bar on Broadway would have a similar special from 5-11pm (full price after 11:00) so you were pretty much drinking for whatever you were willing to tip.

The BYOB all-nude strip clubs- yeah, we all understand the quality level here- would waive cover for the whole group if we brought women with us.

Fun memories- cheers!!

Penny pitchers at the Kitchen Club, schooners at the O Bar, trippin' ballz at The Planet (changed its name at one point to Mars, I think, aka Peaches), and trivia night at Bash's or that sports bar (can't remember the name) in that strip mall at Indiana & 4th. I won the Peanuts dance from that piano player guy at J. Pats once.

Hey, did you ever go to the Easter Bunny Sacrifice Party or hang out with Ron and Dina? They'd house traveling bands, who were touring through Lubbock, at their place near downtown.

Fantastic. The only townie Easter shenanigans I recall was the White Trash Easter Bash, which was somewhere fairly far southwest of campus. My first time it was just folks in a field partying but by my last year it had evolved into an enormous crawfish boil with big regional bands, etc. Super fun time, but waaaay more complicated/hassle of the years before.

Sounds like it was the same thing, but maybe just a different name?

From what I remember, it started out as just a thing where some guys who owned a boa or some other scary snake would feed a rabbit to their slithery critter. I only went to it once before the move happened and didn't see the "sacrifice" part. Basically, it was an annual block party in the Tech ghetto that evolved into being a bigger deal with bands playing in a big field with a stage somewhere south or maybe southwest of town.

I can't recall exactly since it's been 30-some-odd years, but what you describe sounds right with alternative college Texas bands playing.

There was a bar in Pensacola right off base that would do 20 dollar centipede trays or something I can’t remember exactly. Basically a shot of every beer they had on tap but start with jaeger and end with jaeger. They had a fuck ton of beers it took 2 serving trays. Fun times
