If my wife called the police and accused me of rape, she'd be signing divorce papers the next morning, and I'd do everything in my power to make it known that she's a batshit crazy liar.

I wouldn't stay in a relationship with her because I love the drama.

I'm totally showing this to her when I see her later tonight.

Still don’t know why derka thinks he knows for sure what happened. He was not present, so the best info he has is either what beard told him directly or what beard told someone who told him. Neither is remotely definitive.

unless he has someone at APD sharing evidence I guess.

I know what happened. I was there.

Let us not forget that the arrest affadavit was very specific and damning.  Yes, stories can get muted over time, statements can be withdrawn, but in no way does that mean the original statement was false or even an exaggeration.  Such is the way of family violence.

But mah bifocals

dem bite marks doe

Does it matter what actually happened?

1) why were you in that situation( arrest?)

2) what part of telling your boss to kick rocks. Explicitly or not, made you think  the outcome would be positive?

in fact randi trew was the drunken, berating, physical abuser on the night in question, who also has a long history of abuse, drunken or otherwise. reminder that she got fired from Frenship high school despite winning a ton of games because her players all reported her for abuse.

You use this word "fact" and speak in certainties/absolutes.

Do you have any evidence to back up your absolute certainty of these "facts?"

FTR "I know a guy who knows a guy and he said...." is not evidence and does not make anything a fact.

Facts are things like "the police report notes a fresh bite mark on her right arm"

don’t move the goal posts. nobody here is insinuating anything. they are explicitly and repeatedly calling him a wife beater and a domestic abuser, when in fact randi trew was the drunken, berating, physical abuser on the night in question, who also has a long history of abuse, drunken or otherwise. reminder that she got fired from Frenship high school despite winning a ton of games because her players all reported her for abuse.

if a man with a widely known history of alcohol problems and verbal/physical abuse  spent an evening chasing his sober wife around the house berating her, agitating her, and eventually smacking her in the fact, *after which* she responded physically, is there any world in which you and the denizens of this forum would wrong, and 100% about self serving virtue signaling, which as i said, is

1.  Chris should’ve walked away.  Unless your life or someone’s life is in danger, it is not ok to hit a woman

2. Taking an anti- domestic abuse stance is not virtue signaling

Pretty clear Derka is either Chris Beard or Randi. I haven’t concluded my investigation yet.

answer this directly, no moving the goalposts:

if a man with a widely known history of alcohol problems and verbal/physical abuse  spent an evening chasing his sober wife around the house berating her, agitating her, and eventually smacking her in the fact, *after which* she responded physically, is there any world in which you and the denizens of this forum would repeatedly gloat about what a piece of shit domestic abuser the woman is?

you know the answer, i know the answer, and everyone here knows the answer. you say it’s a crazy hill for me to die on? i say you’re crazy for saying that. these repeated circle jerks are 0% about right and wrong, and 100% about self serving virtue signaling, which as i said, is gross. you can’t claim the moral high ground when the gender of who smacked whom is the deciding factor as tho who is the abuser and who is the victim.

He’s an alcoholic woman beater. There are pictures of it from that night that are suppressed. Holy fuck you’re a retard

Beard is still with his “fiancée” (of how many years affianced?), Trew.

That disqualifies him as a coach at Texas, even if you believe the narrative where he is a victim. Not because Texas is “too Buttoned down”, like perhaps with Abe Lemons. This is about Texas not paying millions to a wheels-off, loose cannon. Not entrusting its second most important (sorry, baseball) program to a guy that stays in an abusive relationship, whether or not he is the abuser, despite being given a ton of support and opportunities to extricate himself.

I’m sure he will be incredibly successful at Ole Miss, and other places. I’m banking on it. The University of Texas isn’t getting on that ride, nor should it.

We’re not fucking Baylor.

I think @closetojumping had a great analogy during the football coaching search.  What’s the biggest pos you would accept as a hc?  For football, Art Briles is a no.  Urban was a yes.
for me, domestic abuser is a no. Former alcoholic?  Yes

Well, alcoholism is a mental health issue, not a moral or judgment issue per se (although at some point it becomes the latter when it goes unaddressed despite the obvious consequences).

And, while that Beard's problems don't seem to be fully documented or proven as domestic abuser, they do seem to reflect very poor judgment.  And alcoholism or addiction could supply an explanation for that.  Addiction isn't and shouldn't be a get out of jail free card for all bad behavior because some of that bad behavior "transcends addiction. But once lasting recovery is achieved, the likelihood of "recidivism" for harboring a twat like Randi Trew goes to nil.

Was kind of digging around on Beard and apparently he was mentored by a friend of mine in undergrad, George Tuttle.

I also learned that George died in 2019.

Interesting story, Tuttle was an honors engineering major from Norman, where his father was a professor of architecture and forbid him from going to OU.

Solid IM hooper and good athlete.  After a couple of years, he started going to school at St. Eds and playing basketball there, while apparently also enrolled in UT.  Got sidetracked from engineering and decided he wanted to be a basketball coach.  He did graduate from UT after 7 years.

I believe he was a GA under Penders and had a relationship with Vic Trilli, who also was an influence on Beard.  He apparently stayed employed as a basketball coach as an assistant at various schools for the rest of his life.

RIP George.

/csb for anyone else who might have known Tuttle.

Could’ve done a better job mentoring him in the picking out a partner department.

I didn't know George Tuttle, but I thought it was a cool story.

That must just be a magic honey pot like no other.  The crazy and the "seeks conflict" gotta be off the charts as well.
