what a comeback by France, although I'm rooting hard for Argentina.   France has the transport portal type look to them, mercenaries. Excuse me while I get racial, but how does France have so many black guys? I know the general population has a lot of Africans but I'm sensing some twisting of the passports here.

I think a lot of them were born outside of France. But that's just how international soccer works regardless of race/ethnicity. A lot of the US players were born outside the states.

Maybe not - actually - the few I checked were all born in France. Larger point stands.

There’s a reason most of Africa speaks French. The French colonized most west African countries and there was a lot of immigration as a result.

France and Britain were the 2 largest colonial powers in Africa. One of the legacy benefits is their diverse player pool.

the Brits also were dominant there, especially Nigeria.  This reminds me of the Olympics and the wealthy Arab oil nations who somehow magically granted Qatari/Bahrain/Kuwait/UAE citizenship to super athletic African dudes.

That Di Maria sub…

I know he wasn’t 100% fit, but it’s his last match in an Argentina shirt and his club career is essentially cooked. He was still running with his hair on fire and your biggest offensive threat outside of Messi. Very questionable sub that maybe titled the balance here.

Gonna laugh my ass of when this goes to extra time after a year of added time and penalties and runs into the NFL for Fox

It will be funny seeing the scramble for viewers to find the National Geographic Wild channel when FOX makes the switch.
