Week 15: Dallas Cowboys @ Jax Jags

At least it looks like the crunch time torch has been passed from Zeke to Pollard. I wish Fat Mike could learn to use both at the same tiime. Dallas with Daryl Johnston and Emmitt was unstoppable. Had they involved Pollard even more in OT, we would have won. I suspect Moore can't handle the heat. McCarthy looks like a drunk. Assuming they don't lose out the regular season, if they lose in the first round of the playoffs, Jerry should fire the lot.

A lot of the Cowboys hater media had it exactly right. Dallas was thinking too much about playing the fecals. They thought they had this one won and relaxed. It was the jags superbowl, as it is with most teams. Dallas always forgets that.

Jax >>>>>Da Bears.

This isn’t a bad Jax team but the Cowboys did shit the bed multiple ways.

The Dallas defense is exposed by strong running teams and a quick, decisive QB. And the offense can't decide when to shit or go blind. The end.

That seems a little unfair to Jacksonville. The Cowboys aren't their Super Bowl. They're just a losing team with a good attitude--they know they need to play better and are trying to improve every week.

And well there is the whole matter of if they could do the improbable and win out they could win their pretty shitty division.

Nobody plays with the stereotypical halfback/fullback formations like the early 90’s Dallas teams any more. And all Johnston did was block for Emmitt and catch passes. Moose started 16 games in 1993 and had 24 rushes. Emmitt had nearly 300 in two fewer games.

Correct. Trevor Lawrence is gonna be a star. Hell, he might already be a star and Pedrerson can coach.

Whoever said it above — the Cowboys getting crushed by the rash of injuries on the defensive side.

It's because nobody else is running that kind of attack that it can work - you just gotta have an OC who knows what he's doing. Let Zeke block for Pollard. Give him ten touches a game. Five quick hitters, five passes. I think he'd do it because he knows his glory days are over. Then when Dak goes back to pass, the LBs don't know who's staying in to block and who's swinging out. Maybe both. Meanwhile Pollard racks up 150yds per game plus what he gets on screen passes.

Dak would still have three receivers in the game. Remember Harper, Irving? Who was the tall skinny tight end? Hell of a football player. Seems we have one of those right now. Use the tight end more. Forget this four wide out shit with zero deception. It's fine until the chips are down.

Not the players. They kicked ass in the first half. The coaches called off the dogs in the second half. They weren't ready for halftime adjustments thrown at them and went more basic. They cut back on the deception. They took Dak's legs out of the game. We had some injuries, but it was the offense that shit the bed in the second half.

Zeke does block for Pollard.  Pollard blocks for Pollard sometimes.  But nobody runs out a 2-1 FB full-time anymore. Another blocking surface would be better served with more athletic TEs.  Game's about speed, spreading defenders out and playing to numbers in the box along with all the cat and mouse games which entail.  Playing 2-1 formations as a base offense isn't really today's football.  Defenders are too fast.

We scored 34 points today.  That was enough to beat all but 3 teams today and the other 2 played each other.  Offense wasn't our issue today...... It was defense.  We couldn't stop them in the 2nd half.  They scored 3 straight TDs in the 2nd half and if not for a luckyish fumble, they probably score on that possession too.  Why is it when a team loses, it's always the offenses fault..... The offense has issues definitely, but the defense sucked shit today.  We shouldn't be expected to score 35 points every game to win.  If we had scored 10 points today, then let's reconsider what we're doing schematically, but this was more about game management, specific play matching, and allowing too many points.

Any team in the NFL can beat this Cowboy team right now --  Dallas is struggling.

Pretty much true with every team every week. That’s how the shitty Texans take KC to OT.

My point was more weighted than that.  Dallas is a much weaker team now than earlier this season.  No one is worried about having Dallas on their schedule -- they are a much easier team to beat.

Currently, there might be only 8 NFL teams that are easier opponents than Dallas - the Cowboys are struggling.

No it didn’t, it lost 2-3 yards putting us behind the sticks.  You have to run on 2nd putting us in 3rd and 10.  So you have to pick up 10 to get a first.  I’m not sure of the exact stats but going to guess 3rd and 10, our offense is under 40% on converting passes….. just like everyone else.

When trying run out the clock, first down is the most important.  You need positive yardage while protecting the ball to keep all calls potentially on the field.  Moore didn’t do that… he played it like a standard first and got punished for it.  Bad play calling.

The play on first gained 6 yards. No idea what you’re talking about.

Edit: my bad; we’re talking about different drives.

The Cowboys almost never run 4-receiver sets. Nobody runs two-back backfields outside of a few circumstances any more. 150 yards a game for Pollard? That’s a 2550-yard season.

Dude you should’ve stopped engaging the moment he suggested Zeke could play the role of Moose Johnston.

Dallas should have HFA in the wild card, then have to win 2 games on the road to make it to the Superbowl.

I think you don’t know how it works. If Dallas is the 5 they would only have HFA if we beat 4 and a 6 or 7 that beats 2 or 3 seed. Otherwise it’s a road tour. And this team is too weak spined to do it. Too stupid to do it.

For all the Dak lovers, he leads the fucking league in fucking INTs. And missed some games. Kellen Moore is a fucking clueless idiot. He should have been pushed out of the plane at 10000 feet. Worst job of clock management and playcalling ce ever seen.

I wouldn’t be terribly surprised for us to beat TB, and be hosting an NFC East foe in the divisionals. Whichever one draws Minnesota. Like us, they’re a paper tiger. This could work out in our favor because SF/Philly would eliminate one. That’s my dream of a path to the NFC championship, where we’ll get murdered while Dak throws for 4 picks and Paraons is useless again.

McCarthy is a shitty coach.  Just go back a watch the decisions he made during the 4th quarter of Packers-Seahawk NFC championship game a few years ago.  He’s made numerous horrible coaching decisions at Dallas.  Rodgers carried McCarthy’s sorry ass but Dak can’t.

3 and out after the late JAX turnover and the OT possession say the offense sucks plenty,

It's hardly the first time the offense couldn't muster a pulse and put games away this season.

Lulz at complaining about the offense.....they were hardly the problem yesterday. When your defense blows a 17 point lead because a bunch of dudes are hurt that's just how it goes. Move on. Yall act like the offense has been shit this year but they've executed and kneeled out a lot more games than they've given away. Last time they lost in GB they followed it by winning 4 in a row. Just chill the fuck out, this is a playoff team that will likely win one playoff game and then lose. Enjoy it.

Causing TOs to close out the 4th Q and stopping JAX on first possession of OT is blowing it how?

Oh...Dak had another game with multiple INTs, even though the rushing game was effective.

Whether it's Fathead Mike, Kellen Moore, or Dak; somebody in the equation clenches up like a motherfucker when the pressure gets turned up.

Maybe you watched a different game than I did.  The Houston and Green Bay games didn't happen either.

You said, and i quote, "it's hardly the first time the offense couldn't muster a pulse and put games away this season". As if this happens every other week. Other than yesterday, where a ball ricocheted off of a receiver's chest, the GB game is the only game where the offense has blown it. So two times this year. I don't think there is a team in football that hasn't had a game where their offense failed them in a crucial spot. And it really should be put on coaching for not just running the ball and making them use their last timeout.

Also....we just gonna forget about the drive to put the team ahead after Jax went up 31-27? The thing that even gave the Cowboys a chance to win in the first place? Amnesia just gonna conveniently kick in there? That's why i have a hard time being too hard on Noah Brown; he made some big plays on that drive.
